This is the thing with people. People see that it's different and has a good concept and instantly it's amazing. It's like wtf people. Sure, COD isn't actually highly ambitious or anything but it executes everything well. If you don't like it, not a big deal, but don't start calling it crap.

People are also much more forgiving when they know the game was made by a small team with a small budget. They give the indie games passes on a lot of stuff they will hit a big game for, simply because they have an excuse.

If that's the case then, I can refute that. Oldboy, I Saw The Devil and The Man from Nowhere will all be better movies than Batman(and they are better than the first 2), and they have much smaller budgets.

It still has to be open to criticsm. I love alot of indie games (Penumbra series being a favourite) but I'm not turning a blind eye to the flaws and comparing them to the AAA juggernauts.

Indie games do score very well by the groups like Gamespot, IGN, Gametrailers, etc... as well as gamers in general. So what are you getting pissed about again? They get highly rated, thousands of people buy them and they are very successful. Hell, they are making a documentary on making indie games and then there are all these Kickstarter cases in which the games are getting fully funded in less than two days (recently, Wasteland 2 and Shadowrun Returns).
