What, exactly, does the PS4 have left any more?

The Piss 4? Seems people these days will throw any words together to come up with what they think is a clever insult.

Congratulations, PC is a gaming platform and exists on SW. But Gue1 made the best observation here. PC and consoles may share many games but they definitely don't cater to the same demographics. Sure, in our super serious gaming world of Gamespot and SW, we know that PC has the best multiplats. But, in the actual real world, where the average consumer will only buy consoles, or will only buy one console for a generation, they look at several factors: Price, brand power (and hype), features, and total games (and how they perform).

So, the PS4 was cheaper than the Xbone, the PS4 has the PS brand and the mega hype behind it (along with the advertising), and also has the multiplat games that people clamor for. In the console realm of hardware, the PS4 has the best multiplats. You can bring up platform wars all you want, but for the average consumer, PC doesn't exist and isn't a part of the equation. Sad, but true.

If reality actually matched SW's perceptions, several things would be different:

1) Wii U would probably be in the lead.

2) Bayonetta 2 sales would exceed Wii U's, people would buy 3-4 copies just to contain that magnificent 10.

3) PC's would be more openly discussed in the average market place.

PS4 will be great in 2015 I think.

So, you're on System Wars, a forum for "war" (in a funny sense ofcourse) between all platforms , while complaining about SW rules.

So then, why are cows the ones posting about DF face offs to mock the xbone about the piss 4 having better versions of multiplats. After all, unless you can back up the idea that the majority (50%+) of all PS4 owners bought the console for superior multiplats (compated to the xb1), you're contradicting yourself regarding my point.

All i said was the piss 4 doens't have the best versions of multiplats. PC does. Which is true. So..........................shrug.

But hey, i'm sure those sales will be fun to play.

Another thing is, I have to wonder why the TC would make a big deal about the announcement of a version of Resogun coming to the Vita, when in this thread, he points out how Persona 5 is a big deal for the PS4, even though it's also coming to the PS3.

Maybe he doesn't own a PS3. I don't know. But in the same way, maybe some people own a PS4 but no Vita. For me, I'd much rather play it on the PS4 anyway BTW.

I do not have a PS3, no. I have one back at home, but back at home is India, i.e. the other side of the world. I was going to buy another one specifically for Persona 5, but then Atlus was nice enough to announce it for PS4 as well, and now I don't have to.

You forgot to mention Bayonetta 2. Best game on Wii U. Anyways, you're right that this year was pretty terrible for PS 4. Next year i can only see two good games for it , Uncharted and Bloodborne. Uncharted may get delayed to 2016. Order 1886 looks mediocre.

If you have a PC, there's not much point to the PS4, at least not yet (my PS4 has been sitting unused for a few months unfortunately). Then again if you have a PC, there's not much point to the Xbox One either. In terms of exclusives the Wii U is the only one that is worthwhile right now. Of course if you don't have a PC, it may be worth getting a PS4/Xbox One for multiplats. PS4 as better hardware so you could make a good argument for getting it, especially if (like me) the Xbox One doesn't have exclusives that appeal to you.

The Wii U had more games in its first year than the PS4, this is a fact, not only did it get exclusives, this was a time when it was getting multiplat games too. There were only two Wii U games shared with 3DS, Sonic Boom and Monster Hunter, and I noted both of them as being shared with the 3DS game. Your comment about NSMBU was hilariously wrong and off topic, but somehow your comment about SM3DW was even more wrong. There was one HD upgrade, which I listed.

Everything you said in your post except for that one bit about Monster Hunter, and Sony consoles actually always having bad starts, was factually wrong. What do you expect me to do with such a post?

Why would I buy a Wii U? I can't even play Shadow of Mordor, The Evil Within, Dragon Age, Advanced Warfare, or a bunch of other quality games on that system.

Shadow of Mordor has no nemesis system on 360/PS3, basically robbing that game of everything that makes it interesting in the first place.

With the recent announcement that Resogun is going to the Playstation Vita as well, I have a serious, genuine question right now- why exactly is this console selling? What does it have to warrant the sales?

Now, before we proceed, I need to establish one thing: judging by the trend of previous PlayStation consoles, I am confident that, four-five years down the line, as this generation winds down, the PS4 will be the best console to own. That's how it usually is, so I have no reason to doubt that it'll happen this time. This thread, however, is about the here and now.

In the here and now, the PS4 is absolutely worthless. Why exactly should I buy one? Let's look at its amazing lineup one year in:

• Resogun (also on PS Vita)
• Killzone Shadow Fall (a game so bad, even Sony fans admit it is bad, and when Sony fans are admitting that one of their games is bad, you know it's bad)
• Knack (lol)
• DriveClub (lol)
• Transistor (great game, also on PC)
• Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn (great game, also on PC and PS4)
• Samurai Warriors 4 (good for what it is, also on PS3 and PS Vita)
• MLB: The Show (again, good for what it is and also on PS3 and PS Vita)
• Velocity 2X (great game, also on PS Vita)
• The Last of Us: Remastered (also on PlayStation 3)
• LittleBigPlanet 3 (also on PlayStation 3)
• inFamous: Second Son (this might be the only actual good game on this list; from what I understand, however, it's pretty unremarkable, outside of pretty visuals, and has no staying power)

That's pathetic. Really, it is. And before Sony fans come in and start railing against me because the console is only a year old, that is not an acceptable excuse- I want to point out exactly how much better than the PS4 the other two consoles are/were doing one year into their lifespan:

XBOX ONE:

• Forza Motorsport 5 (apparently the worst game in the series since the first one, but mostly because of missing content)
• Dead Rising 3 (also on PC)
• Ryse: Son of Rome (lol. That said, if you do want to play it, it's also on PC)
• Killer Instinct (apparently a disappointment; exclusive only to Xbox One for all it's worth)
• Titanfall (also on PC and Xbox 360, and pretty much the same across all platforms; that said, I think the PC version at least is dead in terms of online population, which is a problem for an online only game, which means that the Xbox 360/One versions may be the only viable ones)
• Sunset Overdrive (great game. Exclusive)
• Kinect Sports Rivals (lol)
• Dance Central: Spotlight (good for what it is, but also on Xbox 360)
• Fantasia: Music Evolved (good for what it is, but also on Xbox 360)
• Project Spark (it's actually supposed to be pretty good, but it's also on PC)
• Forza Horizon 2 (great game, but it's also on Xbox 360. That said, I think Digital Foundry said the Xbox 360 version is terribly neutered. Whatever, I won't count it as an exclusive regardless)
• D4 (exclusive, pretty good from what I hear)
• Halo: The Master Chief Collection (the best way to play Halo, but it is not exclusive)

WII U:

• New Super Mario Bros. U (good game, exclusive)
• ZombiU (polarizing)
• Nintendo Land (it's a good party game, nothing to write home about, however)
• Lego City Undercover (supposed to be pretty good and charming, but again, nothing to write home about. Like the inFamous: Second Son of the Wii U lineup)
• Monster Hunter 3 Ultimate (also on 3DS, but the Wii U version is supposed to be the best one, with dual analog controls and online play)
• Game and Wario (lol)
• The Wonderful 101 (Hiddeki Kamiya's newest masterpiece, another example of Platinum's mastery over the action genre)
• Pikmin 3 (from what I gather, not the best Pikmin game, that's still 2, but a pretty good one regardless)
• The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD (remaster of a great game, but still ultimately a remaster)
• Sonic: Lost World (lol. That said, a version of this is also on the 3DS, albeit not as good, I gather)
• Super Mario 3D World (amazing game. Possibly one of the best Mario games, and a highlight of the Wii U's lineup one year in)

Writing this, several things occur to me:

1. The Wii U got railed against for its lacking lineup one year in (its lineup only started getting praised this year), but looking at that, I am confused as to how exactly it as lacking. Especially considering how hysterically bad the Xbox One and PS4 is.
2. 'Buh-buh multiplats!' Yeah, no. I didn't buy the PS4 to play games I can already play on my current consoles. Just as I didn't buy Wii U to play Mass Effect 3, Arkham City, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2, Assassin's Creed 4, or Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I did not buy the PS4 (or would not buy the Xbox One) to play Destiny, Watch Dogs, Aliens: Isolation, or Shadow of Mordor (and two of those games are terrible anyway, with the other two, the ones not terrible, actually being perfectly fine on an Xbox 360 for anyone not too concerned about the number of lines on their TV screen)

I mean, shit. I knew the situation was bad, but making this thread showed me just how bad. The PS4 one year in is terrible- this may actually be the worst year, from a games perspective, that I can remember for any mainstream system on the market. I know the PS4 will eventually get loads of games- Bloodborne and Persona 5 (even though that one is a multiplat), I am looking at you two- but man, why exactly is it selling now? What does it have left to warrant those sales?

Porbably because all the best exclusives are on the PC. Maybe that's why he's keeps talking about exclusives. Actually the XB1 bundles are selling better then the PS4 on Amazon right now and the sale doesn't happen until tomorrow. Looks like people are buying XB1's after all. Stay thirsty my friend.

When did Killer Instinct become a great game? It's not. I own it and I've explained it's various faults. Forget my opinion as a long time fighting game expert/former tourney player champion, it's only a 73/100 at Metacritic (same exact score as Killzone). Being objective, we can at least look at those scores for those that haven't played a game, and see the game is not great. I'm a longtime KI fan (I played the series before it was ever on console and own every version), and this version was very disappointing. It's hardly considered a great game by critics or by the majority of fans. Yes, there are those that enjoy it (many of them lemmings here) and would do their best to describe to the rest of you that can't play the game and don't have access to KI as a great game, but they are a minority and are just screaming at users who don't know any better. I can say it's a decent game at best, it's playable, although dumbed down and incredibly lacking on depth in comparison to other options/fighters (and especially dumbed down in comparison to previous Killer Instinct fans), but I can't say it's great and neither do other fans I've played with on Xbone, the majority of fighting gamers that skipped right over it after a few weeks of playtime, and the critics. I even chat with other Xbone KI players and I haven't met one online on Xbone that thought KI was a great game, it was just something to play while we waited for better software at launch and I met some good folk on Xbone that way. It's anecdotal, but that's what your opinions above were based on. The last time KI was around it was on Nintendo machines many generations ago. In contrast the last time Killzone was around it was last gen and those games were of better quality, so it was easier for fans to speak out and wish the next game goes back to the 90s/80s at metacritic.

I did speak up on the KI topic in great detail over and over again (I own the game, not the freebie version). Plus, you aren't being very objective and are listening to fanboys instead of using accurate descriptions. Killzone was also a 73/100 at metacritic and also like KI is a huge disappointment. The KI games and Killzone games were better in previous outings. They are both playable and decent at best, but neither game is great, yet you labled KI as great despite not owning the game and labeled Killzone as a game so bad despite not owning that game. It seems you are listening to fans (even that is anecdotal and subjective) to decide what is great and what is not.

KI had games last gen and KZ did not. The last time KI was around it was on Nintendo machines many generations ago. There was a HYPE and different fans waiting to play this latest outing after years of wanting a game. Although, arguably a new, and different core group also playing and rating this game. In contrast the last time Killzone was around it was last gen and those games were of better quality, and more recent, so it was easier for Kilzone fans to speak out against the game and wish the next game goes back to the 90s/80s at metacritic. We probably will get another Killzone, but there was also an understanding that we might not get another Killer Instinct. There were a lot of elements to toggle. I can say that I played Killer Instinct more than Killzone, but I enjoy fighters more than shooters. It wasn't that much more though, I rather play better fighting games which I do. However, I enjoyed KZ online on PS4 launch period. I own both titles and neither are great games.

The xbox one is outselling it on Amazon because it is $110 cheaper than a PS4 with Call of duty or PS4 with AC,MS has to basically give hot new games free alone side selling the unit for less to spark sales...hahaha that is the only way people will buy it at rotten meat prices.
