But to answer the question, PS4 has hype. Yes it's still running on hype. not as much as it used to.

@SexyJazzCat: In the sense it was the first decent game to come out on the system post-holiday. It was supposed to be Rayman Legends before Ubisoft delayed it until September AND annouced it as a multiplat just for lulz.

Infamous: SS- March 2014 or five months after the PS4 launched (with a mediocre Killzone and lol Knack),

Lego City Undercover- March 2013 or five months after the Wii U launched (along with MH3U broke the longest post launch drought in the history of video gaming),

None of the consoles haven't really got a lot out for them at this time.

PS 4 is selling well because Nintendo's marketing strategy is not up to par, name confusion, also still has that appeal to the casual gamer. Microsoft just blundered hard at that E3 showing and it shows giving the PS 4 a huge edge. The Playstation 3 did have a rocky start but towards the end rebounded with very good games, great games and that GOTY Last of Us. So with all that, customers trust in their purchase of the PS 4 because they anticipate the same quality as before with the addition to reasons 1 and 2 above.
