Whats the better deal? A PS3 and 360 for 600, or a 600 Gaming PC?

The only answer I can give is both at $1200. Limiting yourself to only certain platforms is never a good idea. You will always miss out. Although for the money, you get alot more out of a PC than you do a simple machine such as a console.

Pc of course. Because pc have more and better exclusives. Also the 600$ pc is going to give you better graphics than consoles.

Depends on your taste in games. For me I'm gonna go PC, since there is nothing console exclusive that peaks my interest ATM.

Actually PS3 has more higher quality exlcusives http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=0AriQpIFbPoEacGM1b0xxcGVucFQ3OFc4N3BNZmd2QkE&gid=2 PS3: AAAAE = 1 AAAE = 7 AAE = 12 360: AAAE = 7 AAE = 13 PS3 has much more diversity in its exclusives. Also there arn't that many PS3/360 games I can think of the only recent one in my mind was FFXIII which was better on the PS3. But the fact you have friends on the 360 cancels out all of that. Yeah, that's one of my favorite games ever, I played it when it 1st came out, I was stunned at how good it was, can't wait for the 2nd one in August.

And having all 3 like I do is a great thing, I can't miss a game, unlike fanboys.

We're talking about PC+360 combo vs PC+PS3 combo....So yeah there is a big reason not to.

Don't worry, 360 has Alan Wake, Crackdown 2, Halo Reach, Fable 3, whatever Rare makes, etc., to make it even again.

I would say the PS3/360 combo. People are right a gaming PC for 600 might give you much to play with in terms of power. But to buy both the 360 and the PS3 gives you almost every game released (Wii and PC exclusives are excluded, and some might say that is enough the PC exclusives would more than pay for it) but the exclusives for each PS3/360 I think more than make up the difference.

Ok, there is a big reason to. But in only PS3 vs 360, there are a lot of games that are available only on the 360, this is from the point of someone who doesn't have a gaming PC.

Lol there is a reason no website benchmarks Crysis maxed out on a 5770, and that's because a 5770 can't max it out and run smooth at the same time.

To be fair he has a point. $600 isn't going to get you much of a system, if you walk into best buy or something.

True, I just don't count pre-built they are a joke. I feel there is really not many reasons you can not order the parts and have it built for you by someone, or yourself. It is quite easy. I just think that is my PC elitism talking though :P.

I agree, however, people go out and buy those crazy priced 360 hdds. You think these same people have any clue what it takes to build a PC. I'm not saying it's hard, not at all, but people are in general afraid of computers.

Sorry to burst your bubble but you'll need a HD tv to go with the ps3/xbox360 as well. Chalk up another $1000

So a $600 gaming pc or $1600 consoles? I know which I'd choose (hint: not the consoles).

Sorry to burst your bubble but you'll need a HD tv to go with the ps3/xbox360 as well. Chalk up another $1000

So a $600 gaming pc or $1600 consoles? I know which I'd choose (hint: not the consoles).

IgorAntunov

You can play 360/PS3 games on PC monitors like I always do, there goes that HDTV.

No idea but I looked into something...

gtx 260 280

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/nvidia-gtx-280,1953-18.html

260 At very high"max details"1920x1200 = 36.8 FPS

http://www.tomshardware.com/reviews/radeon-hd-5770,2446-7.html

260 @1920x1200 Very High"High details" = 36.4 FPS

So Tom's mis labled the chart for the 5770 and it is actually "Very High"

I find it funny people measure video cards based of Crysis performance only. Not everyone is gonna like or play that game.

There are few games that push a GPU to its limits, maybe a few others like ARMA II, Shattered Horizon, Metro 2033 DX11. On the other hand none of those games are a problem for my 5870.

assuming you can buy a 600 dollar gamingpc with purchasing an Operating system. My answer is the PS3/360, yours?

SlimWifi

Depending on your tastes, I'd go with two consoles anyday. Pc is a great choice assuming you love what it has to offer in game selection.

the result is quite impressing and show how Pc can still win even against 2 systems.

Not mine, but the fact that people are measuring video cards with Crysis and yet there are few PC games these days that actually push recent cards to their limits. Like the 5770, that card would barely be phased by most PC games unless you're trying to run them at max on a super high res.
