Why Bioshock, Gears, Mass Effect ARE exclusive

Those games are not exclusives but that still does not mean they are best on PC, if that was true it would mean that movies, tv, music, and books would all be best on PC when it's obvious that they are not.

Sometimes I need PC for better controls or for MMO's or RTS games but in the vast majority of cases I choose the console version for the advantages that are inherent in my A/V setup that my console is hooked up to.

Now if this does not apply to you because your PC is hooked up to a giant tv or whatever then good for you, enjoy that, but you need to realize you are in the minority on this and that the rest of us watch our movies, listen to our music, watch our favorite tv shows and play our games on the setup that has the most advantages for us and that in my own personal case happens to be the giant HD tv with the surround sound system and the most comfortable seating.

"Console exclusive" is the consensual standard and is valid if we admit that there is a difference between PC gaming and other forms of gaming.

Regardless if you choose to limit your decision by the standard at which the conensus agreed, doesn't negatve the fact that they exist. Of course, this doesn't work in System Wars, just one of the many inconsistancies with how logic gets misused.

Except, you don't need a Sony Vaio to play Crysis or UT3, I can use Dell, HP, Toshiba or Alienware. The fact of the matter is, you will always need Windows to play these games.

No, arbitrarily saying "PCs don't count and don't compete with consoles" does not change that they do and that, until you can conclusively prove a negative (which is impossible) aka prove that not a single sale is lost when a game is on PC as well as 360, you cannot call 360 games available on PC "exclusives".

Exclusives are what set the systems apart from each other, it wouldn't be much of a competition if the 360, PS3, and Wii all had identical libraries.

You will always need a TV to play your consoles. Therefore, consoles are actually "Your Tv Manufacturer" exclusive. Your TV and consoles need electricity to run. Therfore, your consoles are "Your Electric Utility Company Here" exclusive. Your utility company likely runs on oil. Therefore, your consoles are actually OPEC exclusive.

Mac, Ubuntu, Linux..can't play those games and is a benefit to PC gamers if "PC" means Windows. Try arguing an advantage that Windows has over OSX to a Mac fanboy and the only thing he will admit is that Windows is superior for gaming.

That is not true, I have more hermit friends then console buying friends, I usually go for pc plus one console, in this case PS3 cause wii...lol and the 360 is pointless when you have a decent pc.

I had a great time discussing but am regretably calling it quits for now. Although it should be evident some posts were apreciated more then others in terms of contributing to the collective gaming thought here at the wonderful and oft times wacky place we call System Wars. I think this thread has reached it's prime and I feel it is time for it to head to that great spool in the sky. Of course to be resurected next time I feel like stopping by, naturally, but my eyes hurt and Im certainly done for now ;)

It completely changes the context, which is a context that involves Microsoft having zero control over PC gaming, which means that they cannot possibly own PC gaming, which means that the PC is NOT a MS platform, which means that games shared by the 360 and PC are not exclusive, which means that the term "console exclusive" is nothing more than an underhanded, shady way of trying to escape the reality of defeat when it comes to AA/AAAEs.

impressive that you are able to detect system wars alliances like that. of course you would probably also wrongly assume I am a lemming. Ive owned all kind of handhelds, I was a HARDCORE hermit (CS and Diablo 2 were my crack once upon a time)

and last gen I owned all three systems. But woa is me and me unfair inclinations!

How it came to be doesn't change the fact that it IS that way. And quite frankly, it depends on the criteria that you make your decision. It may be shallow, selfish or fanboyish but its still a valid statement. I never said the cause of the reasoning was rightceous:(

It completely changes the context, which is a context that involves Microsoft having zero control over PC gaming, which means that they cannot possibly own PC gaming, which means that the PC is NOT a MS platform, which means that games shared by the 360 and PC are not exclusive, which means that the term "console exclusive" is nothing more than an underhanded, shady way of trying to escape the reality of defeat when it comes to AA/AAAEs.
