Yeah, and that "gamer" pc will do stuff the ps3, and 360 will never do. The ps3's modo of "it only does everything" is just a marketing gimmick. The pc can truly do everything. It may be more expensive as far as the initial investment goes, but actually, if you have a very expensive machine with monster specs, that machine could likely last for 5, 6, or 7 years with only the need for a graphics card upgrade. These days, you can get a very good card $200.00 or less. I went from being a ps3 gamer to being a pc gamer because of how versatile they are. I'll likely only need to upgrade my gpu in the next year or two to keep up with the latest games. Honestly, if console gamers would take the time and save the money for a good gaming pc, it can be much more rewarding then they realize.psx_warriori will agree with you that PC gaming can tap far, far more power than a console, but i, and i think many other console-only gamers have other reasons for their preference. i won't even throw out the cost factor, because i think its a fallacy (i believe PC gaming is a bit more expensive to get into, but not nearly the exaggeration its made out to be on system wars). but my personal reasons are as follows.
1. plug and play ease of use: alas, this is becoming less of an advantage with console patches, updates, dlc, mandatory HDD installs, etc. still, it is nice to be able to put the disc in the slot and play.
2. pure game preference: i know the pc has stellar titles. however, i've always preferred the console exclusives. again, that's just my preference.
3. friends: every single one of my friends games on XBL. sorry, but i prefer gaming with friends, not strangers.
4. work: i spend every day of work on either a mac or pc. 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week. sometimes more. aside from using the internet, the last thing i want to do when i get home is get on a PC. again, these are just personal preferences, but perhaps it might shed some light on some of the reasons gamers prefer consoles.
