Because console gamers are low grade kids. Low grade kids have poor family's. Poor Family's are poor because they don't know how the handle money. Hence the low grade console kids don't know how to spend their money and like to bend they're little hole over for $ony and M$.

I don't care if PC gaming is too expensive. I like it. That's enough reasoning.
There are cars that are way expensive than others. Yet, people buy them. There are jewelry that are more expensive than others. Yet, people buy them. There are gadgets that are more expensive than others. Yet, people buy them. There's furniture that's way more expensive than others. Yet, people buy them. There's even food that's way more expensive than others. Yet, people buy them. There are clothes, shoes, booze, you name it that are way more expensive than others. Yet people buy them. Oh well.

well what are you waiting for then? go buy oneThe idea that simply because you have money you must own a gaming PC is lol. I own 28 consoles, after selling a dozen 4 years ago, and at one time owned over 4,000 console games, now reduced to roughly 350. My collection could've bought stock in Falcon Industries.
Lol at these stereotypes.

well what are you waiting for then? go buy oneWhen I'm done with my long list of to-do console games....one minute pc's entry cost is just as much as console's if not cheaper, the next minute us consolites are just too poor or underage. which one is it guys? or are you all just lames who simply can't fathom that people have preferences?
i'm going with the latter.
The argument makes sense, imo. If on is to TRULY dive into pc gaming, it costs a lot of money. It is as simple as that. One can skimp on something at the start, but that just means an upgrade is in order, sooner rather than later.
it is expensive with a large entry barrier for someone like me... I would like to have a gaming rig, but I really do not have any clue about what the first step is to building one so that eliminates buying raw parts... so now I have to buy a pre-made rig from the store... however I know these are not optimized for gaming, so I have to add some pieces to it like a sound andvideo card and possibly som more RAM (?) maybe some Video RAM (?) maybe some other sorta RAM, maybe some harddrive, I dont really know....
wait hold up, did I buy a rig that I can install all this stuff in or is my pre-made rig not compatible with all this other stuff... sonow that I spent $1000 on a pre-made system from a website, and over $600 in components, I still dont know how to install all this crap or if this crap is even designed to work with each other, or if this crap is really any good or just crap....
so you can see why it is just easier and cheaper to buy a 1-stop shopping, closed box console for some of us... not everything is as simple as some PC users make it out to be

I knew the RROD thing was serious, but wow 28 360's that just crazy, why didn't you switch to the ps3 or something?
But its actually expensive? Also a bit convoluted to folks (newcomers) who aren't well informed about hardware, etc.
Thats why PC gaming will not carter to the masses anytime soon compared to the way Apple does with its products (eventhough they're expensive as well). This and many other factors that honestly arguing about it will lead nowhere.
But nontheless, if Im lefted with no choice next-gen, I'll indefinitely have to do half a year's saving to welcome PC gaming to my life. Its also some sort of a habit...when you consder the money you have to spent afterward down the road, upgrading to newer tech. (some newcomers may even get turned off by this fact).
Consoles are there for a purpose besides its inferiority in tech.
But that hasnt stopped consoles from having the highest scored games of all time now has it?
Guys I am just curious why when someone throws out the "Why don't you game on PC" threads one of the very first arguments by non PC gamers is the $$$ of doing so? The reality is that every one of us that partakes in these very forums has a PC. Now while the vast majority of us dont have that "Gaming rig" with the perfect combinations of CPU's, GPU's, RAM and whatnot, odds are that your PC's can run every game that your 360 or PS3 can at equal or better visual quality. Heck, I have a DELL XPS Laptop that I play Crysis 2, BF3, Skyrim and KoA Reckoning on with no issues! There are always the arguments that you have to constantly upgrade graphics cards and whatnot. This is not true unless you happen to be one of those people who HAS to have the best at all times. Im betting there are "hardcore" PC gamers in these forums that haven't bought a new video card in over 2 or 3 years. How about the cost of games? From my experience PC games are on average $10 cheaper than their console counter parts and services like STEAM and Amazon have fantastic deals all of the time for downloads. Again, this is not about the comfort of the chair you game in or a preference of controller Vs. M/KB, this is about anti PC gamers using the almighty $$$ as a reason not to game on PC!! I don't think this argument holds any water!!ShoTTyMcNaDeS
not even remotely close to being true btw...
you sir are clueless.
Did some report come out over the weekend that has all the Hermits on Damage Control?
What's with all the "please switch to PC because..." threads?

My desktop was retired last year.
lol who cares? It's too expensive for me now because I don't have the money to spend $1000+ just to play video games.

they're not kids, they're clowns.
Kids can be taken seriously from time to time.
Most people just don't care enough to keep their computer updated and running smoothly.
This may be a shocker to some people, but most people would rather just put in a game and start playing rather than bothering with all of the mess of PC gaming. Hell, when I turn on my PS3/360 and realize I have to update the console and then update the game just to start playing, I quickly lose intrest and get frustrated. Those are the things I'm trying to avoid while playing console games. I just want to pop in the game and play. I also want to be able to plug in a second controller and have my buddy play with me or be playing in a more high-traffic area in my house where people often sit/walk through so I don't feel like some loner.
Computer gaming IS more expensive, it is a simple fact. First off a decent gaming computer will run about $700 to $800, a console will run you $400, in addition a $400 console will still be able to play modern games five, or six years down the line. Your $700 and $800 gaming computer will probably not be able to play anything recent at decent settings after about three or four years, thus you have to upgrade which will run you say $200 for a graphics card, which is still more expensive than what you would have paid for a console. Is computer gaming as expensive as people make it out to be? No, but it is still more expensive in the short and long run.
PC gaming requires that you float a lot of money at the offset, while the long run may prove to be less expensive (which only pans out if you're a heavy duty player). But, IMO, it makes a lot of sense for households to own a gaming PC so long as it's used extensively beyond its gaming rigor. We all know that's hardly ever the case so who are we kidding?
I have never seen a thread called "PC is to expensive"", and have ony seen post where someone says it is after a Hermit tries to convince them their console is no good. So if Hermits would quit making threads like this then there would be nothing to debate. Console gamers like to game on consoles and do not give 2 $hits about the PC version. Is there any other way to be more clear?

Ladies and gentlemen, the "welcoming" PC gaming community. I'm sorry but you've said this so much despite system wars being no representation of the pc community while actually playing games. its just a simple case of man up. I'm not just talking about this forum. Look at Blue's or the HardForum; you'll see the same attitudes. And in-game, where supposedly there aren't any consolites like myself, instead you get elitism from high-rank players whining about having a rank 2 on their team. In one game recently, I was **** at for not dropping medkits - never mind that I hadn't unlocked them. It's always something, and the end result is a community that is unwelcoming and simply not fun to play with.Because console gamers are low grade kids. Low grade kids have poor family's. Because if you actually want to play the best looking PC games at the highest settings and have that last for 2-3 years you need to pay about $1200 for it.
PC gaming looking as good as the current console gaming is not expensive but why bother?
Ladies and gentlemen, the "welcoming" PC gaming community. Seriously. If we console gamers can be generalized then this is what I see PC gamers as. Gamers with a super model like attitude. Why would I want to be one of them? Furthermore, why do you care what I game on?Because console gamers are low grade kids. Low grade kids have poor family's. Poor Family's are poor because they don't know how the handle money. Hence the low grade console kids don't know how to spend their money and like to bend they're little hole over for $ony and M$.

Hey guys I have this $1600 PC that I'm gonna build here, amidoinitrite? http://pcpartpicker.com/p/4VgiprinceofshapeirEh I would get a cheaper video card, $450 is really expensive, I think a $250 card will suit you just fine.
When people say consoles are cheaper, what they really mean is that it's cheaper to let their parents buy them consoles than it is for them to buy their own gaming PC. In reality, gaming is not cheap. And, ironically, in the long run my Xbox 360 (hardware, software, subscription fees, etc.) proved to be more expensive than my PC, despite me being primarily a PC gamer.
On a side note, it's amusing to see console gamers complain about the price of PC hardware, and in another thread to see the very same console gamers brag about gaming on their 55"+ HDTVs.
Ginosaji
What hardcore PC gamer doesn't have his PC hooked up to a 55" HDTV at this time of age?
