Why is every single successful AAA Xbox 360 game considered overrated?

Every single one of these games were/are very good and well deserving of the scores they received. Put your personal opinions or fanboy biased attitude aside. They are all AAA and very deserving of it.

The winner here. When you have one system whose only AAAs are Old ports. And another who is so desperate to get some non-mini games ones. Of course it is going be overrated to them.

Not a big fan of shooters (I like them but not a lot) and I don't like simulation racing at all.

But I never played them so I can't say if they are overrated or not.

Oh come on BioShock I cant believe you dont know that "fanboys" will use any means neccasary to put down a console, eg:

- In an arguement a "fanboy" would say we have more exclusives than your console!

- The arguement tears on and the other fanboy gives a list of "console" exlusives BUT then the other fanboy picks half of them out and say's they are on the PC!

- As the days go on and more exlusives come in fanboys then add to the list and then the other fanboy say's:

> No the site was bias with that review

> no that game is over rated

> no its Gamer rankings that count

> not its user scores that mean somthing

> etc...

One would think that after the myriad of high quality games for the 360, nobody with a 360 should really give a damn about what the fanboys think. You get to the point where you have so many good games to choose from that its not even worth your time arguing with anyone over.

only two of those games were not overated. gears and forza. perfect dark zero was not as good as perfect dark 64... nuff said about that. and halo is not a great fps period. it has great multiplayer aspects and fun co-op but as far as fps go it is an overrated mediocre series. will i own it yes. is it the greatest fps of all time... not even close! that comes out in october it is called the orange box. and it will be underatted probably.

It is perfect for what the game was trying to do. It made you feel like you actually did something for your team when you won the round.

It was released a year after PDZ so you would expect standards to be higher and they were. Many thought COD 2 should have been AAA and PDZ AA but reviewers can have opinions can't they?

forgot to mention, I do believe that PDZ and GeoW are overated.

I dont think gears should of got that high of AAA and it should of got a 9.

PDZ had great online but it didn't make up for the horrible single player. Should of got an 8.

I agree. All of the games listed probably deserve their AAA status.

As for the Halo series, I consider it overrated not because I don't think they are solid games, but because fanboys have elevated it higher than even it deserves to be.

yeah i play and will own (halo 3) all of those games and will admit that two of them are overrated.

pdz is the obvious choice cuz that game seriously is 8 at best and i really believe it only scored its 9 because it was a launch game and they got caught up in the next gen hype.

gears of war is an AWESOME game but not 9.6 awesome. its probably THE most linear next gen game ive played and that really hurts its replay thus i only played the single player once and multiplayer while glitchy and laggy is really fun and 4v4 is perfect for it.

Forza 2 was deserving of its score

and halo 3 probably deserved its score IF the campaign is really amazing, if its anyting like halo 2's boring ass campaign im gonna be really mad that it got a 9.5. crappy campaign and multiplayer exactly like halo 2 doesnt = 9.5 just cuz of forge and added video recording

All mainstream titles, regardless of system, are overrated. GS reviews for the audience that reads the site. A fundamentally *better* game can be scored lower than one approachable to the mainstream. Niche games and high scores? Forget about it. Bioshock with deeper RPG mechanics and staggering difficulty would have been scored lower - despite improving the major faults of the title.

So relax - it's not just the 360 - it's the Wii, it's the PS3, it's the PC - it's reviewed for the mainstream, and that means you're being spoon-fed what you want to hear. Anyone who says it only occurs on the 360 is showing their bias.subrosian

People call them overrated sure , but that happens to all AAA games on all the systems. The 360 isn't being exclusively targeted by any means.

They are all up for debate when it comes to opinions , and a lot of people will flat out tell you that PDZ wasn't a AAA game to them.

Of those four games, PDZ I believe is more the more overrated. Concidering I played the original, only to get a sort of "half arsed" sequel, I wasn't so impressed with the game. Gears? Overrated? Wha? No way. Original IP, GOTY, award status at an all time high. I only see one aspect of the game being overrated, and that's the "space marine" look. As some people say. Who cares though. The game is great. Online was a blast. Will miss it though. Forza 2? Can't say much about it. Never played it. I'm a GT fan but I won't diss a game that I haven't played. Just the general rule in my book of gaming. Annnnnd Halo 3. Well. I don't think it's overrated but reviewers were sort of sticking out the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" idea of the game. Shouldn't stop you from enjoying the game. I mean c'mon. Look at Zelda. Same deal, great game.

Either way, 360 is the system to have for 2007 easily. And you'll have games to look forward into the future of 2008. For me, I own the PS3 and 360. Because I know fully well that each system is going to provide me some great exclusives games. Might be expensive but that's the life of a gamer. Look at all the WoW players. Paying a monthly fee. By the time they get to end game, they're doing the same thing over and over and over again just to get their set piece of armor. And they enjoy it. So why can't we enjoy console gaming as a whole? Thats a great way of putting it, for example I like halo but I don't think it deserves the status it gets, simply because its too simple. look at supreme commander and Command and conquer 3, most experienced rts players would tell you supcomm was better, but because c&c 3 is less in depth and more in mainstream "fun", it scores higher in most places. The flaws of mainstream games seem to be ignored more, while the flaws of less known games seem to be picked at alot.
