[QUOTE="theuncharted34"]

What doesn't make sense?

theuncharted34

1. People around here hate COD but love Skyrim.

2. COD has yearly releases. I don't know when Oblivion came out but it definitely wasn't last year.

But at first, a lot of people around here buy the latest CoD for some reason and THEN hate on it.

It won't be long until Skyrim gets that treatment, A lot of people hate on Oblivion now.

This. All this Skyrim worship is just the honeymoon phase. It will wear off within a month or too, and then the hate will start to pour in (aka. People will start to wake up). nothing about the game is "new" or "revolutionary". Its all been done before, hell, by other Bethesda games. I personally found Fallout: New Vegas and Fallout 3 both better and more interesting/engaging to play, but thats just me (and the scores and sales of the games arent very far off).. Like I said in the OP, i racked up like alot of time in the game by leaving my console idle because it just didnt pull me in, yet when I played both fallout games, I was glued to my TV for a week.

Don't get the complaints of bugs, literally haven't had more than a handful, which is true for any game.

I don't completely agree with everything you said, but I agree with the main point. I like Skyrim and all, but it doesn't deserve GOTY, Fallout 3 and NV were better.

The people who say that Skyrim does not deserve to be Game of the Year obviously haven't even played the game.

Yeah, my game definitely wasn't a buggy mess for me and a lot of others who played the game, besides on the ps3. I don't even think the TC has even played the game, in which case his opinion in null in my view.pl4yer_f0und
[QUOTE="LostProphetFLCL"] ITT: Someone who hasn't played the game makes up a story to try and bash it. Skyrim deserves every bit of praise it gets, even in light of some of the tech issues that have occured (granted my experience has been pretty glitch-free). The PS3 owners DO have a right to whine, but on both PC's and the 360 the game is phenominal. Seriously the best RPG I have played in over a decade and one of, if not the best games I have played this gen. It is flat out ADDICTING!!!

 God damn, dont you robotic fanboys EVER get tired of screaming the "I bet you havent even played it" routine EVERY single time somebody doesnt ejaculate into the box of your game? or points out ANY flaws? EVERY single time, without failure or deviation? Do I need to take a picture of EVERY single game Ive ever owned, ever buy, and all my consoles, and put it in an archive or something? god damn..... I think from now on, anybody who cries the "you havent even played it" excuse should automatically lock them into a "system wars bet" with a moderation/suspension if the accusee actually delivers..... You guys are ROBOTS, period. and this is ALL fanboys on this site. Uncharted fanboys, Skyrim fanboys, Battlefield fanboys.). There is no discussing anything with you. You are a victim and we are the evil bullies persecuting you.

And like the predictable robots you are, you guys are nowhere to be seen after this post......just as expected

It will never cease to amaze me how far fanboys will go to defend their game. For instance, I DARE you to go into a Skyrim thread, ANY skyrim thread, and point out the word "bugs" and "glitches". It is the general consensus that Skyrim has an above average amount of BOTH of these, yet I PROMISE you there will be at least ONE person who will deny it with every fiber of their being.

RobbieH1234

If they do, show them this.

Jesus, some of them glitches are actually terrible.

I've said this before. A game doesn't have to do ANYTHING new or revloutionary to be good. It just has to do those things that have been done before better.

have not played the game yet Skyrim, right now I'm playing Dark Souls great game, so far i have heard lots of complain es the the game has bugs on all 3 platforms but that the ps3 suffers the most, Skyrim should not have been realised its an unfinished game and any unfinished game dosent deserve to be nominated GOTY, but it deserves to win the most bugs in a game GOTY i have never heard this much complains about a game

And it's not like the mods add whole quests to the game. mrmusicman247
...wait what? There will be thousands of mods that add quests to the game, most of those will be better than the main game story quests as well. Hell some people are working on remaking morrowind on Skyrims engine as we speak. (Thankfully the entire landmass for Morrowind was included in Skyrims map for some reason) The good thing about Skyrim is that the mod community will support it for years to come with amazing content, not because the initial package was amazing. The potential is there just waiting for the right people to do it right.

The game achieves what it sets out to do perfectly, and delivers a gaming experience that is head and shoulders above any other game's this year. For this alone, the game deserved a GotY.

i agree, and had bethesda bothered with fixing at least the majority of the bugs, then sure, GOTY candidate. but it's just inexcusable to have a game be released with more bugs than many alpha games. it's as if bethesda's QA department was more interested in doing speed runs of the game than in actually looking for bugs. and then when they try to patch those inexplicable glitches (memory leaks? really? how did no one spot that?), they not only not fix the original glitch, but add more, completely unrelated glitches. seriously, how the hell did they even manage to make dragons fly backwards?

This. They are almost PS1 worthy. Same with the A.I. It literally looks like they could take the game, simply downgrade the textures to make it fit, and voila, you now have an Xbox 1 game (that would have felt perfectly in place on the console). The gameplay also doesnt even spit on the floor in the direction of WOW. Same with the looting, professions, classes, and overall depth to the game...... God, Blizzard needs to make a Warcraft WRPG, and show Bethesda how to actually make a polished game.

This is why I don't buy PS3 multiplats anymore. PC version played fine for me, with the exception of no Crossfire support for a week and a half after launch (WTF) and the 44.1khz audio crash bug thing.

I played approximately 50 hours and I gotta admit I had fun between the 10th and the 40th hours. However ... you'll probably agree that the beginning and the end of a game are pretty important for a lasting good impression. So for me:

The beginning was extremely uneven - you notice all those little issues, like animations, small bugs, and I had problems with crashing.

The ending, which for me was with the main story line was pretty bad. The last few hours of the main quest were boring and anticlimactic (not to mention easy, even though I was below level 20). I felt exactly like a courier, though I won't get into details because of spoilers.

Its almost as if they didnt playtest the game at all, just created a few assets, and drag/dropped them everywhere all over the map, called it a day, and voila, you have a "massive big ginormous world"

This was my point. Almost EVERY feature of the game was underwhelming, and is done better anywhere else. The gameplay is incredibly weak/shallow, with no depth. The story is generic filler for the sake of having one at best, animations and A.I. that would look out of place in an Xbox 1 game, etc....lifeless emotionless manniquins who repeat the same dialogue over and over again...(and to think, I remember Bethesda actually bragging about the game having like 65,000 lines of dialogue or something. Right  ). Not to mention (according to MY experiance and the experience of others) the one thing that the game DOES that actually IS noteworthy (how much stuff you can do) is done better by Fallout 3 and Fallout: New Vegas.

Bethesda released a ps3 version I don't have a 360 or pc so of course I buy it. And seriously Bethesda have a garbage team. If you're f****** game doesn't work on a system don't release it, every ps3 skyrim owner should get their money back, it's disgraceful that they can release a broken game everyone is calling the best game of the year and make profits off it.

f*** Bethesda I'm never buying a new game from them ever again.

If anything all these points are just a testament to how truely amazing the game is!

With all these bugs and issues and to still be so highly praised and regarded, it really says something about the product and what if offers.

I'm just amazed at how little the franchise has moved on from Oblivion.

The animations are still ridiculously bad,the voice acting is still poor ,A.I is still borderline-broken at times and the amount of bugs and glitches and just a general lack of polish in some areas is pretty unacceptable imo.

I know what the fans are gonna throw at me,how a game this big and ambitious is always going to have bugs, but I think its time some posters here stopped giving Bethesda a free pass all the damn time.

Skyrim is the best game this year, so is Batman: Arkham City. one of these 2 games is going to win. Dark Souls is a close second. Gears 3 and Uncharted 3 are good games but not GOTY candidates.

I think some people are trying too hard to not like the game.

Big_Pecks

My copy is literally unplayable after more than 25 minutes. I don't care what kind of world they made, what kind of problem they were aware of that only the ps3 version has. The fact that Bethesda somehow wasn't aware of such a big problem (bulls***) and still released it and are making profits. The ps3 scores are still sky high, and they still have yet to even add a single fix.

I don't care if people think the game is their personal favorite of the year, Bethesda as a company don't deserve to have their product named the best game this year by any professional site. But it will.

But it's not an unplayable game for everybody. I've played the game for 40+ hours and I've hardly had any issues. I've only had one extremely laggy sequence but it was still playable.

i have over 15 hours on the PS3 version and the game has not froze on me yet.jediknight52501

I was around 12 hours and told ActionRemix the same thing. Now It's not even worth it for me to play it anymore, not until there's some kind of fix.

[QUOTE="IPWNDU2"]

[QUOTE="Lethalhazard"]Still better than any game this year. And I didn't like Oblivion when it came out. Skyrim is just miles ahead in terms of variety than other games. Lethalhazard

You cannot be serious

Let me guess, you're part of the hipster crowd who hates Skyrim because it has become popular and you haven't played more than 5 hours of the game (or at all).

That seems to be the pattern, doesn't it?

I hate this game i've only played it for 25 miuntes!! and/or
this game is literally unplayable after an hour! (how!?)

I love the game but I'm not going to lie, the game isn't for everyone, just as I don't like some of the games that exist out there that other people love. I definitely don't think it's technically broken though, the game has a few glitches but far from being broken on the Xbox 360 or PC like he claims, the PS3 one on the other hand. Anyhow, it's no Dead Island, Dead Island had tons of issues, I still loved that game as well though, you just have to be aware of potential issues and troubleshoot.

This isn't some person to person thing. The ps3 version has a problem with the file size. The larger it gets the worse the game plays. My file size was about 6.5mb when it started but wasn't too bad my file size is 16mb and it's unplayable basically.

Eh... I don't think I can flat out agree or disagree. Skyrim really is the biggest game of its kind. No other game out there offers such an incredible sense of freedom or scale. There's obviously going to be glitches. Bethesda should leave their games in the shop for another year, no question about that, but the game, for what it is, is incredibly good. I think if you say Skyrim doesn't deserve GOTY because of glitches you could also say Arkham City don't deserve GOTY for leaving content out of the game (Nightwing and Robin) to charge as DLC and being a part of the whole "pass" system (Catwoman).
