Why SKYRIM does NOT deserve to be GOTY

Skyrim is a fun game. That is all.

Even if you ignore all the faults, the good content that is there really isn't GOTY worthy.

It's a pretty fun game bottom line, but absolutely does not deserve the praise it's getting. I haven't even encountered a bug or glitch in my 40 hours on the PC version and I'm pretty firm on my stance.

I'm just amazed at how little the franchise has moved on from Oblivion.

The animations are still ridiculously bad,the voice acting is still poor ,A.I is still borderline-broken at times and the amount of bugs and glitches and just a general lack of polish in some areas is pretty unacceptable imo.

I know what the fans are gonna throw at me,how a game this big and ambitious is always going to have bugs,but I think its time some posters here stopped giving Bethesda a free pass all the damn time.

No the fans are going to say there arent many glitches. I ahve like 50 hours and have only had very minor glitches. Only a small minority or people who havnt played it say theres huge bugs.

Eh... I don't think I can flat out agree or disagree. Skyrim really is the biggest game of its kind. No other game out there offers such an incredible sense of freedom or scale. There's obviously going to be glitches. Bethesda should leave their games in the shop for another year, no question about that, but the game, for what it is, is incredibly good. I think if you say Skyrim doesn't deserve GOTY because of glitches you could also say Arkham City don't deserve GOTY for leaving content out of the game (Nightwing and Robin) to charge as DLC and being a part of the whole "pass" system (Catwoman).

No game deserves GOTY then because all games have glitches and there are games out there with the same amount of glitches as Skyrim. Hell, Oblivon won GOTY on several sites, Morrowind won GOTY on several sites as well. Look, you can rage at the screen while typing like a monkey but the truth is that no matter, what everyone does not have the same mindset as you and some people will give the game GOTY.

1) It is one of the most fun games to come out this generation.

i know the game has a lot of bugs and things wrong with it, but the fact of the matter is, I, and many others, have found it to be the single most enjoyable gaming experience this year, maybe even this gen. thats what it all boils down to, and that is why its my game of the year.

I've played for almost 20 hours on the ps3 i haven't had many issues, a few minor glitches, nothing serious though

TC and that person who made that video have the worst opinion I've seen in my 25 years of being alive. Ok you don't like the game cool story bro and get in line with the CoD,Bioware and Halo haters cause apparently you don't like anything.

Skyrim has issues we all know this from Bethesda's history but saying it is boring, are you a dumbass? did you ignore the sheer amount of stuff you can do in that game?. If you don't like WRPG's ok a get it but saying something as stupid as that just makes you look like a tool. I could take my top 10 games of all time and be like the cool kids on the internet and nit pick at the flaws of a game instead of enjoying the damn game but no common sense kicks in and tells me to understand if the pros out weigh the cons in a game it's a win in my book.

Glad this game is getting hate after all the love it got.

For starters people hated Oblivion since it came out since Morrowind was a better game in every aspect...

The character creation was horrendous,you are stuck in a bland area with no diversity,the lvln system sucked. Outside of Sean Bean and Patrick Stewart the voice acting sucked, even if you sneaked it sounded like you were wearing plate armor. I could go on all day about Oblivion flaws.

I feel like alot of people here are so strucken and MIND=BLOWN about the whole "zomg we can do sooo much" conceptbecause Skyrim is the firstbethesda gamethey've played and theyhavent played fallout 3, fallout NV, or oblivion. (I havent played oblivion either but whatev)

Only version I would touch is PC anyways, at least modders can fix them like Oblivion.

Bethesda got the 360 and PC version running fine when it came out, while the PS3 version wasn't. Same thing happened with Fallout 3. Maybe it'll click for you that open world games just don't work on the PS3. It's very good at running movies however such as U2, U3, MGS4, etc.Da_lil_PimP

Infamous didn't have any problems, I didn't have any game breaking bugs in RDR. Every Assassins Creed has run just fine. But I guess you can just go back to the ol' "those games aren't as complex as Skyrim." Also Oblivion was good on ps3 also it just came out a year later.

Developers have been working with the ps3 for years now, the "ps3 too hard to work with" exuse doesn't cut it anymore.

Yeah Skyrim is pretty awesome, I got to fight a dragon. Too bad he was just glitching there up in the sky sitting upside down breathing ice at me like a beast. Every town you visit has the same 2 voice actors doing the same 2 accents saying the same 2 phrases. Pretty boring game.
