You pretty much listed 9/10 games, theres a saying "no game is perfect". You look at any goty at any site it will have some sort of flaw, but like I said the sheer amount of stuff you can do in Skyrim is amazing and thats why people love it and not to mention the landscape in Skyrim is just bad ***

well.. i meant a large amount of noticeable bugs and glitches. not a hiccup once a playthrough

A lot of games to this day specially the first few years of this gen had serious texture pop in's

Example Mass Effect had horrible texture pop in's from the start of the game to the end (360 version btw) but I still highly enjoyed it. WoW another game that had horrible glitches and bugs...

When you play a game or even review it, you look for the pros and cons of the game and you basically do a mental "does the pros out weigh the cons". A game the size of Skyrim will have bugs and glitches specially if the hardware is not really good to work with.

I've play only like 60 hours of the 360 version and have only had one bad glitch which was just a broken side quest. Did the game get worse or did everyone get the PS3 version?

I disagree with most points. If anything, I was completely immersed in Skyrim. I've encountered VERY few bugs and all of them were minor bugs. No game-breaking bugs so far. I can write a full page or more of how much I hated Oblivion so I could understand where you're coming from, but I like Skyrim a lot. It's currently my GOTY 2011, but Star Wars: The Old Republic will probably end up being my #1 pick.

The more I read about Skyrim the more I feel it's Oblivion all over again. I fell into the hype of that one and oh boy did I regret. All of the bad things the TC is saying about Skyrim were true about Oblivion. Truly awful game. I'm glad I didn't buy Skyrim. Then again, I'm too busy playing BF3, wouldn't have time for it anyway.

110 hours in and it still looks and runs as good as it did in the first minutes. Also zero glitches! I should be a lucky guy.

TheGuardian03

Did you install it ?

No, i didnt install the game nor i downloaded the last patch. I heard ppl got some odd bugs with it like dragons flying backwards lol

Still playing the 'original' version and i´ll keep it that way, for now, at least until i have a serious glitch.

[QUOTE="Goyoshi12"]BTW: Why does a game with bugs not deserve GOTY? :?Jynxzor
A few bugs? Sure whatever. Needing a dedicated page where modders are tirelessly working to fix your broken game that can eat save files, among other anoying things....thats just stupid. People seem to have become compliant this day and age with the "Don't worry they will patch it" mentality, I remember when we didn't have that option a "Minor bug" could be a deal breaker and developers didn't get away with being lazy like that. While Skyrim is a "Large" scope game it doesn't excuse them for missing or not bothering to fix bugs that I come across in the most mundane game tasks. For example you can convince guards to "Leave you alone" but after they accept they just try and arrest you again and again, or pay your bounty and still be attacked. Dogs and animals can "Report crimes"....what?

What I find amuzing is that the PC gets a lot of flak for buggy games but then certain franchises like this one get a free pass, even by consolites. I don't remember hearing consolites say "it's ok that ARMA2 has bugs, it's still a great accomplishment", quite the opposite really.

Thats funny playing the 360 and PS3 version of Skyrim I've yet encountered a game breaking bug, of course I've seen glitches but not bugs. Also spent two hours last week watching a friend play the PC version while I ate wendys and he only experienced skyrim crashing to the desktop twice.

It does have its share of bugs and glitches, but I am having fun playing the PC version. It will be interesting to see what games gets GOTY because pretty much all games have glitches and bugs, just some more than others.

Your experience isn't the same for everyone, I know a guy who wants a refund after experiencing problems on his PS3, also:

1st video shows that they are stuck at the beginning of the game, meaning they have to start over again, ROFL. Find me another 9/10 game like that.

Don't worry to much about it. It isn't close to being as buggy as you would think. Complainy people are loud, happy people are silent.

How many of those glitches made those games unplayable? I have played WOW, Mass Effect and RDR and they weren't unplayable to me, had problems, but unplayable due to something specific, nope. BTW I've beaten Mass Effect and RDR.

Yep, that's the point of my post, but at least the game does have game breaking bugs, you can't deny that when people experienced them. Some quests just don't work from what I heard though it varies on the person, that's game breaking bro.

Skyrim isn't unplayable... I have played the game for 55 hours, and I haven't encountered a single bug that breaks a quest or has a negative impact on my experience. I have only noticed some amusing oddities, such as finding 2 identical "unique artifacts".

How common do you think this is to start with? This is a rare bug and all he had to do was to restart. This was the first 30 seconds of the game, so... And if it doesn't matter how uncommon it is, there are probably plentu of AAA-games with something similar.

I have yet to play an AAA game like that in my near 24 years of my life. Which is why I want names of games.

And even as a rare bug it's game breaking, he can't go on to do the next playthrough. A bug like this is inexcusable especially for a 2011 game and could happen again though it's not always guaranteed thankfully, still annoying.

I would never defend anything like that.

Can't do anymore quests, which are needed to beat the game, he's encountered a bug like that and he hasn't played it for weeks. And he hated Oblivion but loved this game until that bad incident happened and now he waited for the patch to fix the problems, but that also caused more problems if you read about it and now is thinking of taking it back.

dude, i'm playing the pc version and their was this annoying glitch where i couldn't go back into first person after changing from a werewolf and i had to reload the game multiple times to get it to work and then the game crashed on me a couple of times. so the pc version isn't glitch free and has a lot of bugs and issues with it, the only thing i heard about the ps3 was save issues and low frame rates, but all of the platforms versions have issues

Its not even just about the bugs, its just the overall lack of polish in general that ALL of bethesda's games tend to have, including Skyrim. Its like, if you go near rocks, you can see where part of the texture is missing, and that its hollow underneath, and you can just tell they just incoherently dragged and dropped assets into the map randomly and called it a day, without putting any thought into it. I noticed this alot in Fallout New Vegas as well. There were alot of spots where if you go up to mountains or pass by rocks (and no, you dont have to be TRYING to look for things like this) you can see where it is hollow underneath and a big part of the texture is missing. When I first got Skyrim, within the first few hours I came across a river with a 30-40 foot section of the water missing. The water is just a flat texture anyways, but there was a big portion of the lake missing, and you could see where the water texture just randomly stopped, and then continued 30 feet away leaving a 30 foot gap where part of the river was supposed to be. The funny part is.....if you go into the lake, he STILL does the swimming animation while floating in mid air because water was supposed to be there. God fanboys are so delusional. I understand that you dont care about the glitches, or that it hasnt hampered your experience, but I will never understand the people who defend and deny it to the ends of the earth like it doesnt even exist at all, some even lash out on me, calling me a "hater". Obviously there is a large amount of people who think the same thing as me......

never played Dark Souls, and hated Demon Souls. Try again. Red Dead Redemption is GOTG btw.

Dude you can't expect a game with the size and scope of Skyrim not to have it's quirks

If you want a game that runs perfectly buy a linear cooridor title that lasts 7 hours

I'll stick with my epic 100 hour plus godly Skyrim, one of the biggest, best and most ambitious titles ever made.

Red Dead Redemption, GTA4, L.A. Noire, Assassins Creed 2, Brotherhood, Revelations, Infamous 2. Tired arguement is tired. RDR was nowhere near as unpolished as Skyrim is. Even down to the horse animations, which actually felt real. Skyrim is just tacked on with no effort put into it whatsoever. Face it....every aspect of Skyrim was underwhelming or simply average (even below average) and done better elsewhere, except for the number of quests in the game. (almost ALL of which are recycled fetch/kill quests put there for filler. ) And it was also done better in Fallout 3 and NV.

Your comparing Open world action games where the population basically walk around like mindless drones to a complex RPG in a living and breathing world where you can interact with every character in the game. There's your first mistake, and those games are not without their bugs. Every area of Skyrim is playable and you can go inside all dungeons and houses, castles ect. While in open world action games nearly everything is closed off. It's a tradeoff.

RDR is basically based on horse riding. That's only a tiny element of the vast complexity of Skyrim.

A game as buggy as Skyrim should not be allowed to win any GOTY award. Its pretty ridiculous that its even in the running.

ActicEdge
you are just jealous that zelda wont be getting nominated.

[QUOTE="AmazonTreeBoa"] wait....they have movies of those games? Or is this another case of some DUMBASS not being able to tell the difference between a game and a movie?AmazonTreeBoa

I always enjoy the dumbass "insult". It reminds of the kid that can't think of anything to say, but he HAS to say something. However, when he does, it's just utterly pathetic ;)

translation. It is another dumbass that can't tell the difference between a game and a movie. Gotcha.

Are you mad that you watched more of Uncharted 3 than actually played it? And when you did play it you had to put up with the horrible shooting?

Skyrim should be nominated.

There has been awesome games this year lets not forgot.

No way should Skyward Sword get nominated.

Looks of games that are 8/10 that should.. eg Deus Ex, Assassins Creed etc

I would never defend anything like that.

mitu123

Once again, you can just reload the game. :|

I've encountered two CTD's in Skyrim since I started playing. It has been a less buggy experience than most of the games I have so far played this year.
