No, but most people already have a PC, and many of them don't have an HD monitor. Buying an HD monitor would solely be for gaming, in addition to the PC itself.Pug-Nasty
A) Prove it. B) HD monitors have been common for the PC since the early 1990s. I highly doubt people are going out to yard sales and buying monitors from the 1980s.

[QUOTE="dontshackzmii"]that rig sucks try harderVandalvideo
That rig vastly outperforms anything consoles can even begin to do, and can run every single modern game out on the market at settings comparable to if not far exceeding console standards.

you can get an xbox for like 149. i know its older hardware. It's parts are meh at best its a lame rig and you have to make it your self .

500$ custom rigs are awful they may have a decent cpu/gpu in them but the parts are cheap you cant polish a tard

Most people don't seem to care about pc exclusives many of them a nitch titles and expantion pacsk

Unless its your hobbie most people dont want to make there own machine oems really rise the price on pc gaming .

mods are over rated most of them are awful or not supported well .

NVIDIATI

Not true...

All quality parts: Asus, G-Skill, AMD, OCZ, etc.

$560 with rebates:

· Case

· DVD Drive

· 550W PSU

· KB/M + Speakers

· AMD Quad Core Black Edition 2.5ghz

· CPU Fan

· AM2+ MOBO

· Windows 7

· 2GB DDR2 800

· 320GB HDD 7200rpm

· ATI 5770 1GB

· USB TV Tuner

$560with rebates is fairly key word, plus unless I'm reading things wrong that doesn't include the actual PC, just the stuff needed to make it into a gaming rig. So add another $500 to that $560 and your over $1000. Much more than a console that you always know will be able to play your games.

Outside of gaming, there is no need for an HD monitor, as for the TVs you have games, films, television all providing HD content.

Pug-Nasty

Monitors have been HD for over a decade, are you talking about widescreen resolutions?

A crippled arcade version with poor functionality maybe, but then again if you want to start going to the bottom of the barrel it wouldn't be that hard for the person to make an even cheaper rig if you're using those standards. Besides, that rig; while not top of the line, far exceeds consoles. Don't apply double standards.

I was thinking the same thing, the monitor I have had since 1997 has been able to do up to 1600x1200 (Graphics cards at the time not so much). I think it's kind of funny how little people know about technology.

Nope, those are all the parts necessary to make a whole rig (around 8-10 parts, depending on what you need). A shop will put it together for less that $50 usually, or you can just do it yourself.

From 2009. PC can be assembled for no more than 40 dollars. NCIX (Canadian website) does that for that with a combo purchase.

You're acting like a troll. First off it does not suck, the PC uses quality parts, and can play most modern games maxed out. Second off you don't even post any reasoning or proof, you use no logic what so ever.

It is good rig, for now. Of course, it's not hard to see that the limited RAM, GPU, hard drive space, and slowly aging processor will probably require a total refresh in a few years to stay up to date -- that is, if someone's goal it to keep playing games on high. But, who knows, maybe not... I really don't see anything demanding on the horizon. And I think that's a good thing for PC gaming, although it seems to annoy people, because it should make the barriers to entry lower.

You need an education in what it takes to build a PC, because all of the parts I listed is everything you need to make a computer. What you said with the "add $500" I find insulting not to mention you just called me a "douche." Though now I can see you have no understanding of PCs.

There are way too many variables that posting a link won't fix.

Many people just have no need for a gaming PC, and there's nothing wrong with that.

i was thinking about getting one. but i couldnt find one i wanted under 1100 for the rig it self. after screen, spekers, keyboard and mouse it woulda been way more. so i just got a all in one dell that played wow perfect.

i can only play mmos on key board and mouse. i cant get used to playing normal games on them. like the left 4 dead 2 demo or even mario on a emulator.

that was the main reason i didnt go with a gaming rig.

Not really. Many of those games may not appeal to people because of genre, style of play, production values, graphics, etc etc. Or there may only be a few that appeal, and the vast majority that don't.

Preference is a fickle thing, and trying to quantify it is even more difficult.

Yet we certainly see people buying consoles and ignoring PC....Even though PC has more exclusives, more features, etc than all consoles and doesn't cost much more, like has been shown time and time again.

My post was about adding a PC to the existing console collection. But anyways, people have different tastes and buy things accordingly. The PC having more exclusives may be irrelevant to somebody who's more interested in, let's say, PS3 exclusives.

If PCs were so great, consoles wouldn't exist. Yet, they do - so consoles fulfil the needs of a segment of the market.

I like my PC. But choice is good, so as long as people choose something they're happy with...it's all ok.

(Hey, perhaps we can close SW now? :P )

I sold my gaming PC because there's hardly any exclusives that interest me. My laptop does fine for computer use, and my gaming PC was just collecting dust. I for one have never, ever liked PC gaming communities. They have always been full of people who think they should run the world, and since they can't, they run a server instead as though they are a gaming God.

It could extend to more than just genres, and be an interest in the actual franchises, i.e., Uncharted, MGS, Killzone, GT etc.

Here we go again, What are these dumb Pc prices ? for Pc gaming....

Heres a complete parts list that would create a gaming Pc thats 8x faster then any of the consoles. For under $800 and you can change a few parts and it can be a Pc thats only 4x faster then the consoles forunder $600. And consoles cost $300 and you you can spend $600 and get something thats multiple times faster. Id say thats a good deal, true HD resolutions, high end graphics nothing cut or toned down because of limited resources on consoles, get the better looking multiplats and the exclusives that arent on consoles. And vist these forums to rant and rave, and anything else you do on a computer.

There are way too many variables that posting a link won't fix.

Many people just have no need for a gaming PC, and there's nothing wrong with that.

Pretty much this...I honestly don't know a lot about PC gaming, but acting as though everyone should own a gaming PC is flat out ignorant. Some people it doesn't suit...others don't have the money, the time, the desire...Its ignorant to act as though everyone should own any of said item? Why would anyone not own a car? I mean its more efficient as well as comfortable travel?

There are a plethora of reasons as to why someone might not be interested in or own any given item.

As for me I don't have the money, desire, or knowledge to build and use a gaming PC. Not to mention as a teen I am somewhat conscious about my social image, and consoles are generally accepted as being less of a "basement dweller's" hobby. Then again maybe building a gaming PC would work wonders for me ;).

I don't get it. What does PS3 have? Shooters, racers? You saying those arent available on PC?argetlam00
Every system offers something the others don't. An specific game or combination of game, etc. And for everyone of them there are people interested on them.

I've never seen persistence like this before, I can't believe its so hard to get people may not be interested in PC gaming and its exclusives, is it really that hard :?

Yeah, but why not ADD (not replace) PC gaming along with it? :)

There is such a thing as contentment.

If Nasa was comprised of Consolites, we'd never have ventured to the moon. Broaden your horizons.

We are talking about videogames (in the end of the day, toys), no need to get make (completely baseless) analogies.

Apparently people don't look at the many variables associated with getting into PC gaming, or just refuse to understand them. I'm an avid PC gamer, but I understand perfectly that it's not for everyone.

Lies. People are never content with what they have. I'm not joking btw. Everyone always wants more.

I think that if you consider yourself a real gamer.. you would have as many platforms as possible... you should have no bias...

Heck even though I have a Wii, DS, PS3, I hardly touch them.. The only reason im on my ps3 alot is because my gpu fan failed..waiting for the replacement to come back... I think of them as backup gaming devices:D

$760 with rebates. Though you could get it cheaper if you looked a bit more. Overall a great PC.
