It looks standard for a 3ds game, and it actually looks quite good in the battle sequences.

no... not at all. resident evil and kid Icarus prove otherwise.. this is a lazy dev that just knows that people will buy their game[QUOTE="ultraking"]

standard would be any Mario game.. a great 3ds game is resident evil.. theres power in the system , why noto use it? I mean those pokedex models were a great starting point[QUOTE="el3m2tigre"][QUOTE="ultraking"]

You're overestimating the 3DS's power. Resident Evil is the best looking game on it, but that's not saying much.

No it does not say a lot because Resident Evil on 3DS does not look good. The 3DS does not have good looking games, but that's okay because good looking games is not what the average person is looking for in the 3DS. If you were expecting good looking game when you bought it then you deserve to be disappointed.

you might need to play re rev for 3ds cause it looks awesomeIt does look like butt.
I agree with the people that say it doesn't look crisp. I thought it'd be a fully 3D world, but it just looks like a 2D sprite world turned on its side.
Oh well I guess.
I might get it if my friends do, but I only know one friend with a 3DS right now, and meh to that guy :P The game itself has remained too much the same to care to play through it for the single player. I'll be interested in getting it for multiplayer if enough people I know get it as well.

3DS is capable of GC/PS2 level polygon counts with 3D mode, and has about 96mb of RAM. The game is basically using the DS engine. There is no texture filtering to speak of. The graphics are subpar for the 3DS. At least have texture filtering and some bloom or something. Granted they do have a year left soooo maybe they'll fix the issues.
I thought it looked ok and I havent played a pokemon game since blue. Im happy it looks like they are putting more efforts in the graphics front insted of it being 2d still.
The traveling visuals aren't anything to gush over, but that's probably because all the effort was poured into the unrealistically good graphics of the battles. The character models for the 600+ pokemon and having them animated is no easy task. Espicially when they look this good
This is one hell of a technical acheivement.

This is more or less what i thought seeing the thread title.
I agree. I expected them to be a bit smoother and and sharper. Also, some of the animations could do with being a bit smoother and less jerky too.
Get it together Nintendo fanboys.

Always looks better on 3DS, no the jaggies will remain, I don't think they will use anti aliasing on 3DS (though it's possible, Nintendo tends to make 2D and 3D look the same graphics wise)the graphics are ok(could be better though). but the jaggies looks kinda bad in the video. hope gamefreak fixes that.

No it doesn't. I've played Resi, MGS, Zelda, Street Fighter and Mario 3D Land and they all looked a lot better than this.[QUOTE="Lucianu"]

No no, you are fooled. You're fooling yourself.
Are you suggesting that they're going to fit in millions of cutscenes on to one cartridge?

It's not the best looking 3DS game but it's definitely not horrible. True, it could be better and probably will be before it's release. October 2013 is still a long ways off.Haziqonfire
Indeed, if you noticed the graphical glitches, it was clear they arent exactly done yet.
1. Its the 3DS what the hell were you expecting? 2. The series has never been know for graphics and no one really cares that the graphics are not cutting edge thats not why people buy these games.
It does look terrible, I pointed this out and got told it wouldn't make sense on the WiiU.
I beg to differ.
Nintendo does not care about technology, they are always a gen behind. This is why it is very important for them to never become the only one, if it is they would take us all back to the stone age of gaming. The only good thing about Nintendo is their 1st party games, which is the only reason I buy their systems.
Honestly they would just be better off as 3rd party really.
