this sucks, but u guys can be nice and pay for my stargate worlds :D hahah jokinh
I think he was talking about how other games have a $15 monthly fee and you have to pay for small game updates. where they are giving the updates away free.shockwave04Yeah like normally the updates would be in an expansion pack, but they are giving you expansive content for free. Which is really good.
WoW and SWG (not to be confused with SGW :) ) you pay for the game, and then a monthly subscription fee and then pay for all the expansions. LOTRO on the other hand, you pay for the game and a monthly subscription fee, but all expansions are free. And believe me, $15 a month isn't that bad. I used to pay a lot more than that for new games every month before I got into MMO's and didn't have time to play other games.buzzard31581
yeah i guess if you're getting a lot of playing time out of it and not buying other games then the $15/month isn't too bad. but i play in spurts and would feel like i was wasting money and soon cancel my subscription. i could do a $5/month ($60/year) thing like shock said.
I wonder if you could play it for a few months, than cancel the subscription that start up a few months later and have tha same character.shockwave04That is what it is like in World of Warcraft. There is a good chance that they will have a $15 monthly fee, but if they structure it like WoW then I won't have a problem with it.

I know that in the Terms of Service Agreement with Star Wars Galaxies they say that you have to keep you subscription current or else you risklosing access to your characters. I've known people that quit playing for a couple months and let their subscriptions elapse and their characters and items were still there when they returned. However, they just had a recent purge of inactive accounts to clear up space for new users and housing. I think that's the reason why they put that in the agreement. If you do cancel your subscription, I would recommend keeping in touch with friends who play to find out if they are doing any such purges. At least then you can pay for a month to keep your stuff if you ever plan on coming back.

I hope that the game is like WoW so we don't have to worry about that.New Interview at Ten Ton Hammer.shockwave04
That's a great read. Good info. Thanks for posting, shock!!!
P.S. I still want more though!!! :)
I didn't like this tho :
" That said, we're definitely not an FPS or a twitch-based game. The game is more along the lines of a typical MMORPG in that you'll be clicking on your enemy"
I ope its not going to have a combat system like Knights of the old republic. BEcause I hated that game.

No, it won't be like that. KotOR was a turn based game. MMO's are more real-time action, but still based on numbers, stats, and "a roll of the dice" (random number generator).

i liked KOTOR :P it didn't feel too much like turn-based if you didn't pause it, but you usually had too to keep up with the action.
