Hello, I've owned a 360 for about 1-1/2 years. Right now I was looking at some different xbox live arcade games but, the games I have played have been to short (Like Small Arms) or to... repititious (Like Aegis Wing, which I just got for free-they are giving it away, see for yourself!).Rez looked like it might be fun, so did n+ but they just don't seem to have enough...variety or really any "flavor" I guess... I was looking for something good with action that wasn't to linear and has alot to offer. Something really good. Any suggestions?
I started a thread on what arcade games are, it, and I got my thread shut down. I don't understand why you have to go and monopolize everthing like that but here I am here, do I get a smile and a nod? lol, ok, here were some recomendations from other people here:http://www.gamespot.com/forums/show_msgs.php?board_id=909102864&topic_id=26269530
Marble blast ultra,
Doom
Geo wars
Tmnt 1999 arcade game
Uno
Thanks!!!!! :P
sinceps1
Doom AND Geometry Wars. I have all but Uno and I still play both. TMNT is decent but it's pretty short and isn't that exciting to me personally.
Try out the demo for Geo Wars first...
Doom...come on. If you EVER played it in your life, you know how great it is.
Looking for fun pick up and play game when I got time to kill. FUN is the key, not frustration. I've played Mass Effect, CoD4, Bioshock, Assassin's Creed, Lost Planet and Dead Rising.Hideo_Kuze
Personally, I would pick up any role-playing game. To me, RPGs are never frustrate me as opposed to maybe when I play an action game online like Halo 3 or The Club where as sometimes I tend to get angry when I die a lot. Maybe Lost Odyssey if JRPGs are your cup of tea.
Well, Bully came out today! i was pretty interested in this game when it came out on the ps2. But i can't decide if i should get it now or i should just wait for R6V2......anyone got suggestions????Frost_Soider
I think they are both great games, however if you have played Bully before like on the PS2, you might just want to rent Bully: Scholarship Edition and buy R6V2. However, it really depends on whether you think you will enjoy more. You might find yourself playing R6V2 more due to online, but only you truly know.

i would say AC because you get some really cool weapons that are easy to use so killing people will be enjoyable and violent and there is the whole concept of climbing buildings, exploring, assassinating, and being raveled up in a compelling, intricate story. (sorry for the big words, im kinda in homework mode now.)

He has all ready played Assassin's Creed though. He probably wants something new.

See? THIS is why I hate this thread. He says he ALREADY PLAYED AC!
What Game should I get my 5 year old? She turned 5 yesterday and I bought an Elite yesterday and got CoD4 for me but she wants a game too, anything thats age appropriate and skill wise(even though shes a smart cookie!)and not Viba Pinata she didn't like the demo.xexis
My little sister loved the Beautiful Katamari demo. Maybe give that a spin? She wasn't into it at first, until I started playing and challenging her to beat my Katamari rolling skills though. Lego Star Wars also went down well with my lil' sis, although again I had to play it with her, she didn't like it as much on her own.
EDIT: There are a lot of gems on XBLA aswell. Sonic the Hedgehog 2 is a good game for kids - I grew up on it!

I'd recommend Puzzle Quest to anyone. It's a tremendous game, with a lot of stuff to do.
Right lads, My first post on this forum, so, after saying hello... I've got X360 since a year and due to crazy amounts of work and college I've almost had no time to use it as I used to do with old good PSX and PS2. Although I'm getting back on track - GoW, AC, COD4 - but I'm missing some good roleplay's - are there any good ones on 360 platform, or maybe something worth waiting for? So far I've found Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey - is that all for now?yacub
Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata are the foremost JRPG's. I'f recommend Lost Odyssey (Eternal Sonata not so much).
You might also want to give Oblivion and/or Mass Effect a peek, Mass Effect especially.
As for stuff to look forward to; Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery (a terrible name, no?) and Last remnant are supposed to be coming out this year, although none of them have a release date thus far, so it;s probably not worth holding off on buying one of the existing RPG's.
I'll try LO maybe first, and then I'll pass on to Sonata.Lost Odyssey and Eternal Sonata are the foremost JRPG's. I'f recommend Lost Odyssey (Eternal Sonata not so much).

Aye, the name is a bit... weird, but if the storyline will be making sense, then screw the name :) I remember, when I first heard about the 'Star Wars' i wasn't really impressed how it sounds either ;)As for stuff to look forward to; Fable 2, Infinite Undiscovery (a terrible name, no?)

You hate this thread because he probably didn't not notice he mentioned playing Assassin's Creed? You know it was probably an accident... I don't think that is enough reason for anyone to dislike this thread. Come to think of it, you just like to whine a lot. Maybe you should grow up a bit and come back next year, eh?

Mmmm..I'll pass.
Didn't know my opinion wasn't valid? I said all the right things such as "this is why I (key word, I) hate this thread.
And that is a reason for ME to not like this thread. It happens a lot on this thread, this site, the internet in general.

As said, you should definately check out Cod4. But I recommend all those mentioned but especially mass effect, lost odyssey and pgr4. I wouldn't get Assassin's Creed or Eternal Sonata, however.

Sorry, didnt read correctly. Rock band has the most fun you could get, Burnout, Bully, Kameo, NHL 08 are great as well. Orange Box is very good as well - had to slip in a shooter somewhere

I just picked up Saints Row and Oblivion today. I haven't started Oblivion but I've messed around with Saints Row a bit and it's pretty fun. It's pretty good for a GTA-like game. If you're a fan of that kind of game, definitely pick it up. It's fairly cheap and can hold you over until GTA 4.
I need some cheap, good games, i just got an xbox in feb and i only have GOW, XBLA, and i am renting Halo 3 and Assassin's Creed from Gamefly.Mr_Waffle
The cheapest ones are generally the older ones. As a complete Dead Rising fanboy, I insist you should get Dead Rising. The GOTY Edition of Oblivion is worth a look aswell, if you like RPG's. Burnout Revenge is good (but it's probably cheaper on the PS2, and essentially the same). Geometry Wars is a good, old XBLA game, which I think is only about 400 points...
I think the Xbox 360 has a platinum range of games which are considerably cheaper. A lot of those games are worth trying out aswell.

I'd recommend Viva Pinata, Dead Rising and Lost Odyssey. Viva Pinata especially if you're looking for something not too hard, but incredibly fun.
You could also look at the 360's more B-list titles, such as Overlord and Kameo. They're not incredible, but they're good fun with a unique style and sense of humour.
Yeh might check out Burnout paradise not really keen on racers but the demo was ok. Hmm bully not sure about that one.any more recomendations any one?
thnx
bowlerry
If you're into arcade racers, Burnout is probably your best bet. I feel Burnout provides a great experience for those who aren't looking for driving simulators like Forza, but definitely can get pretty intense if you let it.
Should i get frontlines or bully? I'm really interested in the whole high school setting of bully, but I have also been craving for a console version of battlefield 2 that doesn't suck. Sauce?linkman31
Bully for the PlayStation 2 was really good and Rockstar has gone an extra mile to deliver new content and improved graphics for Scholarship Edition. Definitely worth checking out.
Frontlines is a great shooter and definitely one you will want to check out if you're searching for a game similar to Battlefield 2 that doesn't suck. It should hold you over until Bad Company at least. The dedicated servers are really great and the battles with up to 50 players are amazing.
You can't go wrong with either one.

I hate it! I freeze up after every fight I get into.
hey everybody, should i get elder scrolls: oblivion? i'm not sure about it. thanks for any answers!magera21
I just bought this game this weekend with Saints Row. I actually haven't played it yet, but it looks promising. My friends who have played it really seem to enjoy it and it does look sweet. Rent it if you're unsure. You might be able to find it where you look. I don't think my local video game rental store has it, but you might be more lucky.
Well, I'm getting 1 game tomorrow for 360 and decided it was going to be an rpg.
Oblivion is out, doesn't look like my kind of game, neither does Mass Effect.
So it's between Eternal Sonata and Lost Odyssey, which one should I get?

i own both games and I think both are really, really great. Lost Odyssey's a longer game. I'm not done with it, but right now I'm on disc 3 which took me about 20 hours to reach (maybe longer if you decide to take your time and do everything). Eternal Sonata is addictive, but it's more linear than LO. Even so, ES is one of the most overlooked games on the 360. Either way, you'd get more than your money's worth.
