Hey guys; I'm not new to GameSpot (who is lol) but I just started using the forum, so this is my first post.
I'm getting a game soon, but I'm not sure which to get. I've been looking at Assassin's Creed and Burnout Paradise as the two most potential candidates, but both games have their flaws (Assassin's Creed's widely speculated repetitiveness, Burnout's lack of split-screen multiplayer (which I slightly care for, believe it or not) and it's lack of the franchise's awesome "Crash" mode (yeah I'm aware of "Showtime" but I don't feel so optimistic about it)). I want to get AC 'cause it seems like a really great and deep game, but I also want to get Burnout because I've been playing Burnout for years and I've always loved it's fresh gameplay. Assassin's Creed is without a doubt awesome, but it's so-called repetitiveness makes me not want to buy it. Burnout's a great game, but I think it's changed for the worse...
Both are great games, but I just don't know which to get. I was thinking of getting The Orange Box, but I'm not in the mood for another FPS, and I was also thinking about Gears of War, but it's died out and I could probably get it easily from a friend or something. Guitar Hero III came to mind (and it's actually just as fun to play with an Xbox 360 controller, as I discovered when I played the demo), but I can't be bothered to buy a guitar controller to experience the game to it's fullest.
So, Burnout Paradise or AC? Also, if you have any other suggestions as to what game I should get, feel free to share 'cause I'm open to new possible choices.
Thanks

Both are good, but I think you'd get more out of Burnout if you've been following the series. AC is def. a good game but there's only so much you can do, unless you like attacking guards then running away over and over and over and over and over. And over. And over...and over. But I really did enjoy AC, just after I beat it there wasn't much else to do except wait for the 2nd one.

I'd go with Mass Effect. Great game that is.I have gears of war, and i want to know if i should get xbox live gold(for gears of war multiplayer), or lost odyssey. i liked the old final fantasy games on the snes, so i am thinking about getting lost odyssey. What do you think i should get?deathfuryz
Personally, you will probably find yourself playing more Gears of War since once you beat Lost Odyssey's, which is a good 60 or so hours I hear, you will probably not find too much want to replay it. That's just my opinion. You may really, really love it and want to beat it over and over again.
Anyways, I'd go for Gears of War.
Should i get Pacman C.E or Worms for the xbla. I just bought a points card and just bought my xbox 2 weeks ago. Also I just beat A.C and bought Call of duty 4. But I'm looking for another action/adenture game. I am looking at Devil May Cry 4 but not really susre it's worth 60 bucks. I played the demo but it didn't really answer anything for me. So if you can give me your thoughts on it. Thanks alot. mousebite
I'd get Worms for XBLA but that really depends on which of the two you want...
I suggest getting Ninja Gaiden Black for $15. It's a GREAT game, longer and better (IMO atleast) than Devil May Cry. It IS an XB original but it still looks great. That's DEFINITELY worth the price. And hey, if you enjoy that then it'l pump you up for Ninja Gaiden II!
I've been on the fence about the Call Of Duty series ever since I've heard they're WWII shooters (I can't stand them for some reason) but ever since I've heard of COD4 being modern warfare it changed my tune a bit. I've only been hearing good things about it especially how good it is online. My question is should I get it? I plan to get Halo 3 and Gears Of War
i liked cod4 better than both of those games.

COD4 is a fantastic game, online and off. The game is challenging at times, nice graphics, smooth gameplay, fast paced action. You'll enjoy it more then halo or gears.
should i get dcm4, frontlines, or turok, and is frontlines online really good or just entertaining for the first few times?lilxharleyxbro
I'm renting Frontlines at the moment and so far, I've been having a lot of problems trying to join ranked matches on LIVE. I joined one, however I believe it didn't actually track any of my stats. There seems to be a lot of unranked matches hosted by other LIVE users though.According to someone else on this message board though, I guess a patch is to be released soon that addresses this problem with the ranked servers.
As far as single player goes, the campaign is really fun and the story isn't that bad at all. I'd definitely give Frontlines a try. Unfortunately I've never played the others so I can't comment on them.
I am planning on getting a game soon, but am looking for a good single player game, any ideas?jriddle89
It depends on what games you own and what genres you enjoy playing. I recently rented Lost Odyssey and it was fabulous. Also I was really into Dark Messiah Might and Magic: Elements despite what others had to say. Mass Effect is also pretty fun in my opinion.
Well mostly action based games, rpg's, fps, anything like that....I actually just finished Mass Effect, Lost Odyssey, and Dark Messiah....I was looking at Assassin's creed because the story seemed interesting and I have loved the Hitman series and it seems like a Crusaders-style Hitman...
Thanks!

I can't say I've played Assassin's Creed before even though I bought it. I hear a lot of great things about it and it might be something you like. I've never quite heard anyone compare it to Hitman, but I guess they are similar in some ways. There are a good deal of great-looking action games coming out this year like The Force Unleashed in April and Bourne Conspiracy which a lot of people think looks good sometime later this year.
You might want to check out Frontlines also. It's a pretty solid FPS and the story isn't half bad when it comes to the campaign. Definitely worth a rental.
Anyone know of any good non-turn based RPG's other than KOTOR, Jade Empire, and Mass Effect?
Any good shooter RPG's other than Hellgate?

I believe Oblivion isn't turn-based and is a great RPG even though the story is nothing to brag about in my opinion.
I guess Mass Effect could be considered a shooter with RPG elements even though I see you are all ready playing it. I don't know many similar to Hellgate for the 360. Check out the PC forums.
help plz. orange box, turok, frontlines, army of 2, or r6v2patsfan4liferjn
I hear Orange Box suffers from major lag and hardly anyone plays online, I don't know about Turok though.
Army of Two and R6V2 aren't out yet so it's hard to recommend. Personally, R6V2 looks better. However, Army of Two might be the better of choice if you have someone to play co-op with constantly.
should i get lost odyssey or bioshock, i am a FF fan but i love fps's too....Death-wing
You should get both, hehe, seriously get both :)
should i get lost odyssey or bioshock, i am a FF fan but i love fps's too....Death-wing
I'd flip a coin on that one. Lost Odyssey has been great so far for me, but Bioshock has so many iconic moments and should be played by everyone.

i would have to say getting lost odyssey. good battle system with original settings.
Rez looked like it might be fun, so did n+ but they just don't seem to have enough...variety or really any "flavor" I guess... I was looking for something good with action that wasn't to linear and has alot to offer. Something really good. Any suggestions?
I started a thread on what arcade games are, it, and I got my thread shut down.
