finally gettin my xbox 360 tomorrow. 2 year addiction to WoW caused me to miss alot of other good gaming..
i am going to start with 2 games. a shooter and something a bit more story-driven.
Shooter Choices:
Gears of War - looks awesome, love the duck-and-cover philosophy and the graphic design, but i may be too late gettin into this one, is online play still accessible for newbs?
Halo - looks good, maybe a bit too cliche?. havent played the first ones though. worried about the online community being too young/immature. (i am almost 30 and married)
CoD4 - seems to be a very popular choice these days. afraid this might be too tactical and not enough just fun shooting. but i could be totally mistaken.
Note- i am a FPS noob. I havent been serious into a FPS since Quake, yes, the first one.
RPG/Adventure Choices
Bioshock - the story seems really intriguing and i hear the production value is extraordinary. definately everything i have heard about this one is positive. it is a bit on the fps side though compared to others, not that thats necessarily bad.
Mass Effect - story and acting look great. not sure about the combat system, is it fun? or just tedious to have to give orders in the middle of fps-like action.
Lost Odyssey - i used to just love jrpgs with ffx being one of my faves, which this game shares some obvious influences from. so thats a plus. however i am not sure they still hold the same sway over me. i tried ffxii and i hated it, but tbh it was unlike any other jrpg before it with its weird and annoying combat.
