how is mass effect? what are your thoughts concerning the following:
sidequests - are they repetitive, offer variety, fun to do, etc? how many are there? are they challenging, offer a good break from the main quest?
Combat- pretty self-explanatory, is it fun? how is the AI?
gameplay/story- offer your opinion
replay value- any?
it's about $40 now, still worth it?
rwrden
Sidequests - Many of them but pretty similar. One of the worst things of the game but some are good and vary from the main quest well.
Combat - You can choose more action orientated or magic, so it suits most people
Gameplay - Fantastic, apart from the driving and a few glitches
Story - Best on 360 imo - epic
Replay Value - Lots, on my third playthrough. You can choose different classes, different quests, allies different consequences etc to playwith
Overall, my favourite game on 360, get it :D

are the sidequests in this game THAT bad? i was also looking at eternal sonotai've heard good things about mass effect. Im also thinking about picking that up, and it's relatively cheap now. as for action/adventure - there's GTAIV, assasins creed, ninja gaiden 2, and condemmed 2 just to name a few. Do you like racing, because forza 2 motorsport is also good, i've enjoyed it.oops just noticed i typed that wrong i do like sci-fi and fantasy lol

ok thx for the info im also looking up mass efect it does look pretty good :)carbriniyea, the only thing that is keeping me is that I have tales of vesperia coming, so I want to play that for a bit. Maybe I will pick it up, what's $40? That is like the price of two haircuts now (from supercuts anyway)
Is the Limited Edition of Mass Effect worth it? I already know exactly what comes with it, but how's the quality of the artbooks and documentaries? I've rented the game for a week and have fallen in love with it, plus I'm usually a sucker for "behind the scenes" stuff anyway, but I'm not yet sure if it's worth $60 for a used copy.
Thanks in advance!
Two great games coming out today! But I can only get one of them because I've been quite busy recently and don't have much ntime to play...which one shoudl I get? Brother In Arms: HH or Pure ...? fracoti'd get brothers in arms, because racing games with bikes don't appeal to me.

Considering that Mass Effect standard edition on its own can be bought new for £15 ($30 ish) I wouldn't want to pay double. ME is definitely worth full price, but when you can buy it for much less it doesn't make much sense to spend twice what you need to.

Price - definitely. Although I bought it for less, I would still have been happy to have bought it at full price and thought it was good value for money.
Replay - Because of how your characters develop it is not possible to create one that can do everything. There are three distinct types of abilities, each with their different strengths and weaknesses, and the combinations of these allow for 6 main classes. Although I am on my first playthrough (so far 40 hours and less than half way through the main plot), I can easily see myself replaying this to try the different types of characters.
Combat - Fun and challenging depending on the character you use. Soldier allows you to pretty much run-and-gun in the style of Halo. Other characters get special abilities that allow them to damage or disable enemies from range using biotic or tech powers (think magic and you're not far off).
Story - if you like a lot of dialogue and reading this will suit you. You can skip a lot of the text if you don't want it, but this will only reduce your knowledge of the gameworld. You have a collection of allies each of which have their own stories which are gradually revealed the more you talk to them.
Sidequests - The Mako (vehicle) has some strange handling issues, but once you get used to it it can be fun blasting around the various planets. visually there is a big variety in the planets you can land on, though once you get there you do similar things on each, travelling around the landscape looking for points of interest, or fighting enemies. The fact that weapons/armour/ammo/upgrades are dropped by enemies gives you an incentive to go exploring and find some of the more powerful gear
I got my 360 on April 28th (my birthday), and got my first game, GTA 4, the next day. I had loads of fun with that game and have logged over 100 hours of play time. That was my major game for about 2 months, until June when I went out and bought COD 4. That was so-so for me, possibly because I didnt have LIVE. I still don't for the next couple of days. How could you forget halo 1 2 and 3? Those are some of the best games for the 360 imo...
Overall, if you have LIVE, go for COD and GTA.
If shooters arent your thing, I can't really help you, unless your a sports nut.

Should I get call of duty 4 or gears of war(the first 1)???QU33NS1rSj
You should get Gears of War 2 in my opinion and wait for Call of Duty 6
Fracture looks very repetitive. Silent hill always gives you something to think about. stabbystabstab
Yeah I was thinking Silent Hill would be better too, although I did like the Fracture demo. I guess I will just use Fracture as a weekend rental. Thanks for your opinion & Good Gaming!!!

You should get both. But if you must choose one, I strongly suggest renting both and seeing which one you like more.
I agree both these games are just flat out that good, you just gotta experience both of them.
(Also)
Red Alert 3 looks like its not going to be very good, Tom Clancy's EndWar would be a better choice. Also Fallout 3 should go on your getting no matter what as well. Either way you go, Good Gaming To You.
Forgive my question that might have been asked a thousand times already. But I'm having trouble deciding between the two. I don't have enough money for both right now, so I can only grab one for the moment.
My favorite genre has always been JRPGs. I love how in-depth the story can get, and more importantly, I like the amount of hours you can put into it before the game ends (40+?).
I'm also a Star Wars fanboy. Have loved the series dearly for as long as I can remember. This one looks like it has a lot of thougt put into the storyline, and as of right now, I can basically look upon it as if it's God of War set in a Star Wars universe--which is awesome.
Please, post your opinions and recommendations, and why.
Hey so Pure and Brothers In Arms: Hells Highway both came out yesterday in the UK. And i can only get one of those, so which should i get? Thnxraynethx
both are totally different games... do you like racers or shooters more?

Thnx, but can only 1 give me a detailed answer? I love shooters, not stealth though like MGS, coz i hate those kind of game. But love halo 3, bioshock etc. And i love all fast racers, like burnout paradise, pgr4 etc.
So pure or Brothers in arms?
Thnx
I'd wait just one more month for the best line up of games in a long time. Gears, Fallout, Fable. But if you need a game now and have the money for it, Force Unleashed wasnt to bad.MitchellPot
I already have it and i love it. might get pure over brothers in arms.
Any suggestions?

please stop posting over and over with the same message, people will get to you, be patient.
Pure is all about the ATV racing and Hells Highway is all about shooting. Pure also isn't like your standard arcade racer, naturally as it's of-road ATV racing. I'd say go with Hells Highway, or just get both.
Are there any good games out there that are $50 or under? I already have CoD4, Burnout Paradise, Ace Conbat, Cod 3, GTA4, Saints Row, and a couple others.

Brothers in Arms.
Pure is less about racing and more about pulling stunts/tricks off huge jumps
Should I get mass effect, lost oddessy or halo? or wait till Gears of war 2 or fable 2?_rock_
Do you like Western RPGs or Japanese RPGs (JRPG)? as that will be a big factor between ME and LO.
Personally I love Mass Effect, and it has a great blend of action and RPG elements. Depending on the type of character you choose to play you can almost play it just like Halo, as a FPS, or you could choose a different range of skills and play it as a much more tactical game with plenty of dialogue. It lets you play the game in several different ways and lets you explore uncharted worlds.
Gears 2 - if you loved Gears 1, then get Gears 2. It will be more of the same, and millions of people will be buying it in November. It will be taking the title for most played Live game back from COD4 easily.
Halo is still doing well, and with the new achievements just released, and a change to the ranking system is seeing lots of people coming back to play it. However when Gears 2 comes out I feel that the Halo multiplayer will suffer (as will every other FPS multiplayer game)
Ok, so I've already pre-ordered Gears 2, now I'm left with the choice: Fallout 3 or Call of Duty: World at War?
