i defragmented my computer this morning would that of affected anythingmktazza
Sorry, meant to address this...

Defragmenting should not affect your drivers. However, it is possible that during the process the  driver files for your audio device was moved and not correctly paged. It could also be that your HDD has developed disk errors on one of the sectors where the audio device drivers were located. Defragmenting is useful, but too and much and too often can cause HDD failure, bad sectors, etc.

I don't get why PC fanboys hate on halo and say it is average, crap, overrated etc. I have an xbox, a 360 and a PC and halo is an excellent shooter by any standards. It's almost as if you think it's cool to hate on it :?

Halo has hardly any noticeable load times, your holy grail half life 2 is littered with them, halo has a great integration of on foot combat and vehicular combat, halo made grenades very useful at the touch of a single button without having to scroll through your weapons to reach it, halo made melee useful and added an extra strategic element as you can sneak around and melee from behind to get an instant kill, and Halo also has an extremely deep story, don't go and moan and say halo 2's story sucked, yes we all know it ended as a cliffhanger but halo 2 is a bridge between halo 1 and 3, you can't really have an ending with the way it is paced.

Halo brings all great elements of PC fps's and brings it together into one game and this is all done on a console. Stop being 1337 and open your eyes.

Interstingly, that completely validates what I said. Halo was well made. Halo's not great or revolutionary, but it IS a very solid and well tuned FPS that played extraodinarily well on the consoles. Halo was fun, but I've played many other FPSes that feel are far superior to Halo. Of course, that's just my opinion.

Game on!

i went into control panel and checked hardware it says there are no drivers installed for my multimedia controllermktazza

Reinstall your multimiedia (audio) controller's drivers. If you bought a comp from Dell or whoever, it should be on the install/boot disc that came with your system. If you built your own, then load the drivers from your mobo's install cd or your audio card's install CD.

If you know the device, but cannot locate the discs for the driver, try searching over at Driverguide.com for what you need.

Oh... so it's instanced. Then it's not an MMO. Cos collective group think declared the specifics of what requirements must be metfor a Multiplayer Online Game to be considered "Massive." ;p

Well, you're not going to get a very fair response in the PC section, but what is so good about Halo is that it is very well made. That might seem like a cop-out, and in a way it is. I dislike Halo as I feel it is a poorly done, horrendously generic FPS. BUT! There were numerous things that Bungie did incredibly well whilst making Halo. Most notably tweaking and perfecting movement timings, reload times, jump height, movement speed, and all of that. Why is this important? Because playing on a console is vastly different from playing on a PC. Console players were amazed at how "smooth" the gameplay was. On a PC "smoothness" was nearly a non-issue as mouse aiming makes any FPS buttery "smooth."

People will say crap like "Halo had great multiplayer!", which is a load of BS. There is nothing in MP that Halo has that other games had not had. People will say that it had great AI, which is a load of BS. The AI is dumb as rocks. Halo is only lauded in the gaming world because it was a console FPS that was comfortably playable. In other words, Halo is heralded because it was a console FPS that finally had good controllability. Noting else. The rest of the PC "omg Halo rulez Master Chief is duh awesumnass...zor...zorz" is 100% pure hype machine fallout.

I would have to say Final Fantasy 7. Even know I have played all the newest games, no other game made was as fun as Final Fantasy 7. Especially if your playing it with your best friend.TrooperManaic16

Ditto. I've played many games that were intended to be incredibly "epic", but they just never held up to the grand scope of FF7.

Texture resolutions aside, the models look like crap. Very blocky. Don't get me wrong, I'm thoroughly enjoying STALKER and I agree that the texture detail in STALKER is amazingly rich. (and the level design detail is incredibly ricvh and delightfully atmospheric) But STALKER only really shines when the resolution is severly cranked up, which is a downside for those of us with moderate level systems.

STALKER shines when in high res on max settings, when put at a moderate resolution (but still max effects) FEAR, Quake IV,  look much better. Hell, at moderate resolution Doom3 looks better.

Regarding gameplay, hopefully more developers will pick on the gameplay format of STALKER, as it is a very fun a rich experience.

Another thing: save! And save often! Even after you patch, you still might encounter some some glitches where the only real cure is to load a previous save. The game is amazingly complex and there are, unfortunately, a lot of things that can go wrong. As for The Sims 2 not being a good game, BenTheJamin, you've never played so how the f*** would you know? If you don't have anything useful to provide, STFU and go elsewhere. The Sims 2 is an amazingly fun and addictive game, if you're into that kind of play style. Not every one is. As a gamer that has played numerous sim games since the original SimCity, I thoroughyl enjoy and am immensly impressed with The Sims 2. Especially with all of the expansions.

PC only. Whoever said DA was coming to PS3 is delusional and full of BS. Can't have a toolset on the PS3. ;)
