[QUOTE="smokeydabear076"][QUOTE="BeyondItAll"]^^ I would hate to see were gaming would be today if everyone thought that 20 years ago :/

You act as if every game must be innovative and only innovative games are good and fun.

I never said that, but this is basically a remake, all sequels are like the games before them, but rarely are they remakes like this is that bring nothing new. If this was after 1 year or so thats one thing, but a DECADE!

Yeh after playing awhile it just feels more of the same but more boring and generic.... i don't think i will actually buy it, i'm quit happy with RA2 and will stick with it for now. Such a shame :(Terrorantula
Yes thats another thing it feel generic, it took the personality right out of the CnC series.

Download the demos of both games and see which one appeals to you the most. I myself couldn't get into Supreme Commander and I was pretty much disappointed. I'm downloading the C&C3 demo now.

Thats because you didn't give it enough time, Supreme Commander will seem like an extremely slow game to any noob when in reality it's perhaps the fastest paced RTS ever. Also the single player part of the demo blows, the skirmish is were it's at, playing the skirmish is a completely different and much better experience In the end due to the fact that most people haven't played an RTS anything like Supcom and don;t know how to play can make you think it's slow, it's faster then starcraft, cnc you name it in reality.

IF you want a remake of CNC TD, get this, it's the same thing new graphics, if you want something intense, fresh and a deep level of depth as opposed to CNC3's shallow gameplay get Supcom :)

[QUOTE="BeyondItAll"]My point is that forum has been up for nearly a year and it got surpassed in about 3 days by another game, mind you the game was only even out in Europe at the time. We will see how the CnC numbers shoot up, I just don't expect to see it rocket like SC's did :) mrbojangles25

Idunno there are a lot of old-timers out there that got their start off C&C back in '95 (and Dune 2, also by Westwood).

Ya umm their are a lot of TA modders still around too, in fact a group of TA fans built an engine from scratch and remade the game and for THAT REMADE version of the game their are hundreds of mods, hundreds of mods for a remake of a game! I think it's pretty obvious that TA also had a more successful mod community then any CnC game ever did, sure theirs alot of CnC mods, but more of them never got much attention from the players of the real game and NONE of them obviously didn't take over as the communities main game, but in TA the mods were of such high quality they did just that, their were a number of TA mods that were played more then the original game, in particular Absolute Annihilation. CNC may have the advantage of more owners, but one thing is definite TA and Supcom are much more mod friendly then and CNC game has ever been. One of the most important factors when building the TA and Supcom engine was making it them the most mod friendly engines their are.

TA had a much larger mod community then any CNC game did around it;s time and How about this, the official Supreme Commander boards that opened about a week ago, on the mods board have 3x the threads and 5x the posts as the CnC main forums do in their mod section, sure CNC 3 isn't out yet, but their forums have been up for what 10 months?!?! Supreme Commander already has hundreds of custom maps and it's map maker isn't even out yet, whats that tell you?
