The bugs that keep surfacing in D3 with each update is karma biting Blizzard in the ass.
Used to love their games but the direction the company is moving in now is a joke. I'm happily avoiding anything that comes out from Blizzard from here on out. They could go bankrupt and I wouldn't care less. The crap they tried pulling with D3 and sugar coating it all by saying it was there to enhance the user's experience (online drm, rmah, etc..) were enough nails to seal the coffin. GG Blizzard.
@burgo81 Pokemon Snap was hardly a worthy Pokemon title I agree. I would have loved to a see a Pokemon RPG done on the N64 using the Mario 64 engine and gameplay of the GB Pokemon titles. They tried something different. They probably felt like if they bring out something too similar they'd receive the same backlash COD is getting these days from many gamers.
Gamers feel entitled to have every game they desire, but at the end of the day it comes down to what the developers are able to put out based on their time frame and resources. Had they devoted time to making N64 Pokemon title, the GB, GBA, etc.. would not have received there games.. and the designer behind it was probably only intending for it to be a portable game.. you know.. catch.. share.. vs... etc. Unfortunately there's no pleasing everyone.
I'd say Apple are still king of selling inferior products and service to much more than they are worth. Nintendo on the other hand have been willing to cut costs and sell their systems at a loss. They also had a loyalty program for those who paid full price for the 3ds before its price dropped. They took those customers into consideration.
Now with the Wii U, they are implementing online features and doing their best to keep it family safe and friendly. Meanwhile MS and Sony use it as a means to shove more marketing down your throat by streaming ads to your dashboard and charging for services which should be free.
I've owned almost every console since the Atari 2600 and the ones I've had the least amount of troubles and headaches with have all come from Nintendo. I wish they were better at keeping up with hardware specs, but then they'd be either:
a) selling their new consoles at launch at $1000 like Sony does (and not compensating when the price finally drops) or
b) sell at a loss (which MS are doing) and charge a fee just so that you can get 100% of your moneys worth and enjoy the second half (multiplayer mode) of the game you just bought.
Nintendo do neither. They seem to be the only company that is taking there customers into consideration and they get judged as criminals. Go figure.
@burgo81 So much hate. You sound like the CEO of Nintendo ran you over once and didn't stop to see if you were ok. Whatever your beef is, get over it.
The idea of a games console is to entertain you when you want it to. It's not an IV Drip to live off of. Sure Nintendo faulted on the specs side of the system, but does that mean the system was a complete flop? Hell no. It's got great games for those who want to play them.
Now that there are options as to which system to buy, picking the right one for you is like buying a pair of shoes. Just because you don't like the others are you going to say that all of those who buy those pairs are fat slobs who now own rotting pairs of shoes? You'd probably say, yes.. because all those with taste (majority being sheeple) buy nike.
People who aren't happy with the Wii should take some responsibility and do more research before buying a console, not buy one and then blame the company for not fulfilling their expectations.
@Shinobishyguy I could just... y'know.. stick to the original Super Mario Bros too. But that's not the point. If players have to avoid certain aspects of a game in order to have a more traditional and challenging experience it means the game has been dumbed down. Who knows why, but that is just stating fact.
