Greetings Gamespot Overlords:
Crowman and Wolfboy, and upcoming iOS title from Wither Studios, is currently missing from the Gamespot database.
It was on display at PAX East behind Riot Games, and looked a lot like Limbo in terms of art direction.
Happy gaming,
Boz
If they are blown, would that be covered under warranty? Also, 'blow' sounds so bad. If they were blown, wouldn't I not hear anything?Jobesky123Blown can mean a lot of things depending on who you talk to, but it generally means the speaker cone has separated from the voice coil. But it is a general term for when a speaker is damaged, too, meaning if the voice coil has shorted, fried, the surround has separated, etc. In this case you are getting crackling, which says to me that the voice coil has partially separated from the cone. If it were fully blown, you would hear no sound. You can check by trying the headphones with multiple audio sources at various volumes; if the crackling persists regardless of whether you use it with your MP3 player or PC, and increases in intensity at higher volumes, it is probably blown. Blown speakers are not usually covered under warranty, being considered abuse. However, you should still contact the manufacturer, because it may have blown due to an manufacturing defect (it does happen). This is difficult if not impossible to determine, however, but worth a shot to get maybe a discounted replacement if not a free one. Be nice to the service staff, and your odds go up. :D Happy gaming, Boz
The Crossfade LPs are different headphones entirely from the M80s (I've owned the M80s and listened to the LP2's). The M80's are significantly better in terms of audio fidelity. The LP and LP2s are "muddy." Additional feedback from enthusiasts can be found here:

V-Moda is developing the M100's, which will be their higher-end over-ear headphones, but it'll be in the $300 range, supposedly.
Note that Radio Shack carries the M80s, so if you go to their site and do a search for one in stock and buy it retail, you basically have a 30-day audition. I bought them, auditioned for 30 days, returned them, then bought them again. :P
Good luck,
Boz

If it's just too expensive, the Skullcandy Aviators are actually pretty nice. Don't let the name fool you, the Aviators are quality headphones, and have a cool retro look. You can try them at any Best Buy.
There are lots of other options, but those two are probably my top picks in terms of aesthetics and sound quality.
Good luck,
Boz

Not sure what's up, but I host most all my images for my own blog entries here on Gamespot. Just wanted to check in before I posted some upcoming blogs I've been working on.
Thanks,

If I have time I can give it a shot, but it'll be a couple months at the earliest. I would imaging off the top of my head you'd need: 1 - 2.0 vs. 2.1 vs. Surround Sound 2 - Recommendations by price range for each category 3 - Wiring Guide 4 - External Resources That'd probably answer 90% of speaker questions. Don't expect anyone to read it, though, based on the number of headphone questions we still get! :P Happy gaming, BozDoes anyone think we should make a speaker FAQ too? Lots of people come here asking about speakers.

You know Robbie?Dracula68I know of him, but never really chatted to any extent. Not like with you, Drac: Nobody is like you. Did that come out as creepy as I intended? :P Boz
