You don't have to be a fanboy to see that if you don't want to buy it, then you don't have to. It isn't going to be the backbone of the online experience. If what someone else does with their currency bothers you that much, then don't play it. Battlefield 3 had the same aspect and if it was used, then so be it, but the average player stayed far away from it. Ultimately it comes down to skill, just as it did in BF3. A noob with a twinked out arsenal is still just a noob.
I'll be playing with my friends who aren't going to be buying any shortcuts. Besides, I highly doubt Rockstar is in the business of making one of the most expansive online aspects to a multi-billion dollar franchise to screw it up with something like this. Serious players are going to be about the heists, not the quick, effortless payoff.
Waaaaaahhhh. They're not forcing you to pay for this stuff, people. Stop acting like a bunch of entitled babies and opt to not pay for it. Personally, I'm excited as hell for the online to be released next week.
@willzihang @packtop @MW2ismygame I would consider a 400,000 strong petition a shitstorm as it is. It is stupid that PC fans have to wait, but you don't see Rockstar rushing because, look, they made $800m in the first day of sales just on the console version. Perhaps they're biding their time so that when the PC version is announced, it will be like they're relaunching it all over again. Hype and anticipation means another massive launch, granted, not quite as massive.
@CaptainErebus How is it a PC franchise? All of them have been released on console as well as PC. In fact, it's more of a console game because PC versions are almost always delayed.
Do you get a fuller experience on PC? Yes, because of the modding. It's certainly not a PC franchise though.
I love the PS3 but my god, this latest iteration is absolutely horrible looking. Handling it is even worse. It just looks and feels very cheap. I do like that shade of blue, though something like that wouldn't go very well with your average living room setup.
Hmm, a perfectly good platform for this game but they're too concerned with watering it down for the 3DS players. That's not to say the 3DS sucks but, realistically, the Vita is an infinitely better fit for such a game. I know the Vita hasn't sold very well but titles like this go beautifully with the Vita. Hell, it played well ad-hoc on the PSP and that system trailed far behind the DS when it was out, too. Then again, this is capcom.
