The Blu-Ray gives the PS3 a boost, which is something the 360 doesn't have when it comes to the graphics department. Which is why games like MGS4, wouldn't run properly on thw 360 without3 to 4 disks, andalso wouldn't be able tosuport some of Blu-ray's features which mightcause some glitches and bugs

Storage.

Blu-ray in no way improves graphics. It allows you to store more game data but more game data doesnt make graphics better. The only way it could possibly help with graphics would be to store much much higher resolution texture files. Such high resolution texture files wouldn't work on the PS3s hardware anyway, the RSX isn't up to the job. So all in all, there is no benefit in using blu-ray except for more game content (but thats not better graphics), video and lossless audio.

--------------------------------

Anyway, overall in my opinion, the PS3 has the more dedicated and talented developers. I would love to see Guerilla Games work with the Xenos and see how they get on with USA and 48 stream processors etc. I'm sure they would produce something comparable to the likes of Killzone 2 and Uncharted 2 on the 360.

I don't know if this is better than Nascar or not but...

SUVs + Forza 3s Physics = lots of fun!!

I mean think about it. It only works if the physics are there, its about trying to race them and not rolling over, it about hitting small bumps in the road at speed and nearly losing control, these kinds of things.

Sorry hermits, no one cares about old games. :(

clyde46

And if it was the other way round I imagine in a classic SW double standard people like you would view this very differently, probably hail it as PC losing games because it is dieing

They certainly felt a port of a 2007 game (The Witcher) was worthwhile, but a few months old game hits PC and suddenly it's irrelevant. Of course the PC version of RES 5 wasn't canceled; unlike The Witcher.

Consolite double standard FTL. If its been on console first then ported to pc = crap. If its been on PC first then ported to consoles = PC gaming is dying.

I'd love some consolites to answer this one lol. I mean which is it? If a game is introduced onto a platform, does that still mean the previous platform the game was on is dying??

Or does it mean that those PC games that go multiplat are old and rubbish now?

 you can't have it all ways consolitees!

Nice visuals but I am happy with the console offering, go enjoy a game three months after its release. david_lck

Why what happens 3 months after its release?

Nvidia GTX 280 alone costs more then 360 elite. also whats is RE5? the game that i beat 10 times about 3 months ago?

deathtarget04

oh man, your post perfectly illustrates then difference between PC and console gamers and their respective attention-spans lol. So a game is no good now if its 3 months old? Wait, wait, no, games are like clothing and fashion, you're only cool if you play the latest games, amIrite?

why buy a different version when you have already played it?

Please point to where I said I have played it? lol you were trying to use that its already come out on 360 as some kind of ownage!

You seriously think that I'm trying to persuade console owners to get it again? oh dear lol, no one cares if YOU have played it.

Again this is a 360 shot.... and it look really good, It look better than all the old PC builds IMO(I know the PC version will look better at the same build)

Threebabycows

I'm quite impressed with that pic. Right there, it compares nicely with Uncharted 2 in terms of textures, lighting, motion blur, depth of field. There certainly isn't this 'gulf' that lots of cows would have you believe!

The TC is correct like many people have pointed out. The power used to create the extra pixels could be used to make the lighting and effects better. People who are PC gamers understand.

shadowken

Correct but...like many PC gamers, I can't stand laying in a low resolution. I can't stand jaggies and I would rather sacrifice draw distance, lighting or something else than make my eyes bleed.

Seeing as I am still getting by on a 8800GTS 320, a GTX 3xx might just be the perfect time to upgrade. I always like to leave it as long as possible so I get more 'wow' between upgrades.
