For me Battlefield 2 represents the perfect online play so far and still hasn't been surpassed. Single player, well obviously Call of Duty series.

[QUOTE="nervmeister"][QUOTE="Episode_Eve"]"From a personal perspective, I've got to say that I came away impressed. I'm a long-time Battlefield player and love first-person shooters as a whole, and MAG nailed it in all the right places for a competitive shooter. A solid framerate ("at least 30fps at all times"), no lag, responsive controls, a great command structure, and a persistent world where your actions contribute to your faction's ultimate goal of ruling the world, makes for what could be the top shooter of the year, on any console. Modern Warfare 2, I hope you're listening -- this is the one to beat." ---------- This has got me very interested :). Will definitely take up some of my KZ2 time :P.Episode_EveWhat source is that quote from? The topic article lol. Joystiq's closing paragraph. It's a good read. It's funny because most posters are focusing on the TC's subjective comment about "best game ever" (and KZ2 lol). When the content of the article should be in discussion.
True, but you have to blame the TC for that.
You see, I just watched the video on the main page and I have to say this game is looking epic. I don't just think this game is going to be a 256 player lagfest, I get the impression (based on the success of the Socom series) this game will have quality. Sure they're borrowing somewhat from BF2 but who cares, they adding a whole lot more aswell. I just dont want to see the few hardcore cows out there hype this game to hell and back.
Every new PS3 exclusive is some kind of king, queen or god. I think a few (notice I said few) cows round here need to keep a sense of perspective.

Wow. You made another "Shooterstation" comment. How witty and clever.

Well sorry you aren't cleaver enough to realize the truth.
Protip: Don't insult someone's intelligence if you have difficulty with spelling.
Very sigworthy if I had room in my sig lol
I thought Crysis used occlusion mapping not parallax mapping ?

That wouldn't require blu-ray. It's not like having 2 different video or audio formats. It would simply be a small change in the code to enable the game to render a different screen resolution.
Truth_Hurts_U
It's not simple like that.
Changing resolution also changes preformance.
Your going to need information for that. A game made for 720p on 512 MB of memory won't run at 1080p on 512 MB of memory.
Umm...yes it is simple like that. Sure it will cause a performance hit but im not talking about hardware, I'm referring to where the person I quoted believed it would require blu-ray to have a game run with the option of 2 different display resolutions. Performance and screen resolution has nothing to do with disk space. Running a game at 720p or 1080p will require no difference in disk space at all. Changing texture resolutions, audio, cutscenes, game length etc can but not screen resolution.
I dont think you quite understand how a 3d environment is rendered if you think that disk space affects game performance. Also you're confusing vram requirements for display resolution with disk space. PC games run at multiple resolutions with many far far higher than 1080p and yet fit on a DVD9 disk.

[QUOTE="GTR2addict"] indeed  isnt it bloody amazing that anything a whole board of console fanboys says can be coutered and utterly owned by 3/4 hermits? (hermits in a way, that is) :lol:The_Brodeo
So true, I get the impression that us hermits are perhaps a little older and mature than the rest? 8)
I have never gotten that impression by reading any PC faboy posts in here.Right, because we never try to debate a given topic by using examples, by using explanations for our opinions or use any kind of reason?
To be honest, I just wanna see the end of jaggies and hardware capable of decent AA. A lot of games this gen would have looked so much better (more like their bullshots) if the hardware could have handled better AA. I really hate jaggies!
If you know something about HL3 or the Source Engine 2 then tell me me everything or there will be trouble !! :x :P
720p is fine... Just upscale it to 1080p
I rather it run in a lower res... Have a min of 4x AA and all the graphics you can get.
Would be nice if they used BR to have both 720p and 1080p Options. Like how PC is. I would def take the 720p option.

[QUOTE="dnuggs40"][QUOTE="naval"]Xplay reputable source, lol, funniest thing i heard all day and it proves other people's point too, that you really didn't played that game. And since we always use GS reviews, I am taking the Crysis review : "Speaking of which, the AI is generally excellent in a fight, as enemy soldiers use cover and concealment effectively. They also know how to lay down suppressing fire and are great at tossing grenades to flush you out of hiding. Getting in a firefight in the jungle with these guys is always fun, because they'll make you work for it at the default normal difficulty setting"GTR2addict
And with this majadamus has just been completely owned, by his own logic (if you can really even call what he says as logic) no less lol.
