I am an Inter F.C. fan and we didn't do much better...italian football in general is getting worse. That's why we won't win the World Cup for another 50 years....

DeadMan1290

How good a country's domestic league is doesnt really reflect how good the national team is. A good example would be the premiership and the La Liga. Both have been the dominant leagues in Europe over the last decade or so and both national sides England and Spain have under-achieved (until recently with Spain).

Look at nations like Argentina, Brazil, Germanyor even France. Their domestic leagues do not attract the top talent like we do yet the national teams have done far more than England or Spain! Italy will always be a contender for the world or european cup, its a big footballing nation and thats not changing any time soon.

It still needs young talent. Italy needs to scout for young players:x

Yeah, I think the raw talent is there and always will be but maybe you guys need to fund some of the academies like France started back int he 80s and the dutch have done over the last 40 years.

[QUOTE="Salt_The_Fries"] But you have to admit it, FC Porto is extremely lucky that it got to the knockout stage of Champions League. There should not have been there, and I'm waiting for someone to deliver the justice. Salt_The_Fries

Luck is part of any game and you have to give credit to the fact that a Portuguese team can go that far so many times. Also didnt FCP won the CL and UEFA like 6 years ago? :D

That was under Mourinho's helm and Porto was way way different, much more enjoyable to watch, I even supported them back in that season in CL. They had great team and great style of playing. Deco, Maniche, etc. all started their star careers there.

I just thought I would add my 2 peneth to this discussion :)

Porto were very industrious, hard working and playing for their lives against Man Utd. Everyone knows that in terms of raw ability, they would be completely outclassed by Man Utd and so they did what they could. They frustrated, they closed down, they 'out-competed' a Manchester United that had played 48 hours prior. Add to that the lack of a few key defenders for Man Utd and thats why you have such a scoreline.

Porto would not play like that every game but because it was against the current champions they worked their socks off. Second leg might surprise a few people yet.

Halo is outdated. Halo CE was great for it's time but Halo 2 was average, maybe slightly above average where Halo 3 is sub-par, since it doesn't really do a whole lot to revolutionize the franchise.Messiahbolical-

You dont rate a game soley on whether it revolutionises the industry

Halo 3 is rather similar to Killzone 2 in that it has very high production values, an enjoyable singleplayer, tons of game modes and content with a very indepth multiplayer. Thats why it gets the high reviews.

It is possible to have a stellar game that doesnt do anything new!

There are 2 sides to the Killzone 2 story.

1) There first is the ungodly levels of hype and rediculous claims by cows about its graphics, better than any other graphics, cannot be done on any other system. They are the ones who hyped the game far too much.

2) Then you get the haters who bash Killzone 2 for anything positive. They will attack the game and focus just on its weakspots while ignoring the fact that its a very good shooter.

The reality is that its between those 2 points of view. Its a damn good first person shooter, with some of the best highest production values and polish a game can be given. It looks stunning and credit should go to the developers considering the art of the game, the imagination and vision they had! Sure its not the most innovative game but there is no rule that says a good game 'has' to be!

It is what it is...an AAAE

yup, this is another example of lemmings thinking that if they say things enough, it will make them true, such as saying M$ doesn't announce games early.

lolfaqs

Sure, its inevitable that games get delayed or that publishers / devs choose to announce games early but generally speaking MS do a damn site better job than Sony in this area.

Compared to last gen, they have gained a bigger slice of the console pie, have a very respectable games library for a console even if some of the titles are not strictly 'exclusives' and from what I read on here the PS3 isnt really closing the gap. You may also want to add that its not just in the US where the 360 is very popular, here in the UK is is hugely popular.

But tis all irrelevant. As long as a company makes sufficient profit on a given item then it will continue to be manufactuered and shipped. The 360 is doing this so 'position' is not important.

[QUOTE="-DrRobotnik-"]

This is utterly irrelevant. Lems arent banking on MS announcing games for this year at E3 because of past trends. Theyre banking on this E3 because MS came out and said they have adopted a strategy now where they won't announce games too far in advance.

EDIT: Woop, damn caps lock

Silverbond

Who mentioned E3?

lol mate, stop dancing like a little girl around the issue and get to the point you're obviously trying to make and that is:

if microsoft announce their games well in advance then it makes the current situation look like there is not much going for the 360 in the coming year or so!

We all know what you're trying to get at but like someone else already said previously, its all very irrelevant as MS have stated that they will purposely announce new titles nearer to release. You also said yourself, that MS "announce games early sometimes"
