The Controversy War!

[video=dSZhxTGo5bgJvTfc]

Yes, if you are like me, then you would certainly know by now about the score that The Legend of Zelda: Twlight Princess got here on Gamespot.  Some have appreciated it because they didn't go along with hype road and respected the honest review but a majority of people are just plain angry at it and blasted Gamespot and Jeff Gerstmann for the review.

I won't talk about it here because I talk about it more in my latest video blog, which is right about this for your viewing pleasure.  I also talk about the US launches of two certain consoles out this weekend known as the Playstation 3 and the Nintendo Wii and what my thoughts on them are etc.

Also, Gears of War first impressions and more stuff on WWE Smackdown vs Raw 07 tops off another extremely long video blog of yours truly.  Enjoy and if you are one of the ones that hates Gamespot now for the Zelda review and all that malarkey, then shut up because he has played the game and you haven't.

I love Zelda games and I am just surprised at the score but not at all angry about it because I was going to pick it up no matter what score it got because it is Zelda and I love the series.  We will see what the score for the GC versions is, whether it will be the same or better due to the controls and all that and see if any more controversy brews up!

Anyway, enjoy the blog and let me know what you think of all this score business involving Zelda and Red Steel also.  Also, post questions and comments for next time, as I greatly appreciate them.

So, until next time, ROCK ON!!! my fellow GS users.

The War is here!

Yes, earlier on today I got my copy of the collector's edition of Gears of War at my local GAME store, because I pre-ordered the game there and also, it seems that the collector's edition was the only version they were selling of the game but I could've been wrong.

I have played about a hour of it or so and a match online and all I can say is:  it is a great game with amazing graphics but it takes a bit getting used to certain things and that, according to me but I got the hang of it.

I only played the one ranked match in Execution mode and I am really looking forward to playing more online because it was a lot of fun and I got a kill in it with the chainsaw, which was pretty cool.

I am not sure how far I am in the campaign in terms of where I am at in Act 1 but I am pretty sure it is near the end of it.  The lancer in the game is pretty awesome and the chainsaw bayonet is one cool feature of it.

I will have a video blog giving you more thoughts on this game and Smackdown probably tomorrow or Sunday so stay tuned for that and until then, I am going to kick some locust ass with Fenix and the gang.

Also, that On The Spot show yesterday was dead long because they were waiting for the other show to start but it was probably the longest On The Spot (normal editions of it now not the marathon PS3 and Wii ones) that I have seen.

I can safely say now that the demo of Trauma Centre: Second Opinion done by Greg Kasavin on the show really interested me and actually sold me into getting that game whenever it comes out here because I don't think it is out here in launch, which sucks but hopefully it is.

So until then, this has been another text blog provided by me, Darrogamer06 and hope to see you on Live to play some Gears! EMERGE!!!!! (Credit: Rich Gallup)

The War is nearly upon us!

Well, at this time, it is only 2 days to go or possibly 1 day if the UK retailers do the same thing with the game I am talking about that they did last week with Call of Duty 3 and Smackdown.

The game is of course, Gears of War and judging by some of my fellow GS users' impressions with the game, it has not disappoint and has a great offline and online experience.  In 2 days or 1 day time, I will be apart of that group when the game finally is released here in UK shores.

A guy on my friends list on Live already has it who is from the UK because he works at a game store thus he is lucky enough to get the game early.

So, I look forward to kicking some locust ass online with some of you on Gamespot etc and hopefully I will enjoy it as much as you guys have.

In other news, I listened to the Hotspot and judging by their first impressions and all that there, they ain't seem to be too hot for the Wii at the moment and also, Jeff has stated that the review for Zelda will be up this Sunday and some things he said about it like the speaker and the sword swishing etc may feel like it might get a lower score than some of you may expect it to be but we will see.

Haven't played much in terms of games other than WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007, which I still like and that but some people online are real jerks with trash-talking or quitting early or doing the same moves over and over again.

I have deserted Bully and World of Warcraft for the time being, as I am not at the house now during the morning and that so I can't really play WoW anyway since by the time I get back home, my brother will be home in an hour or so and I like to play that game for at least 2.

The reason why I am not at the house now is because I am doing volunteer work for my local volunteer centre by developing a website for them, as the one they currently have, flat out stinks.  So if you don't see me on live until around 4-5pm GMT in the weekdays, that is the reason why.

Anyway, that is all now and only 2 days or 1 day to go until Gears is out, 9 days until Guitar Hero 2 is out and only 23 days until the Wii and Zelda Twlight Princess is out and by Christmas I will have all of this stuff.  So, take care and ROCK ON! \m/

Smackdown first impressions

Well, I have played Smackdown for quite a bit the last few days and all I can say is I am a tad disappointed by it.  I thought it would be a better game in certain instances and some things in the game just annoy the hell out of me sometimes that spoils my overall enjoyment of the game.

The first thing is the difficulty.  I am playing season mode on Hard and I know it should be hard and all that there but it is just bloody ridiculous that your opponent reverses like 90% of your moves and the computer AI actually seems to know when actually you are going to get a move also even you are grappling them for a few seconds and just makes it hard for you to actually do some moves on him and makes the whole game so unreealistic etc.  I am alright now with reversals and tend to do them some time except finishers because I know I am hitting them at the right time but 9 times out of 10 I don't reverse it.

The second thing is that they seem they took a page out of the Wrestlemania 21 book in that when a opponent does a move on you, it takes practically forever for you to get up even if it is at the start of the match but still you be down for what feels like 5 minutes.

Don't get me wrong, I still like the game and like the whole new control system and the UMC and environment hotspots, its just these things amongst others, like people just doing the same move over and over again in online (did not occur all the tiem, just one or two matches I had) and still brain-dead AI, the only thing the guys seemed to have worked on this year is the new control system and if they sort out the AI in this game, then it would be a lot more enjoyable.

I had some good matches online especially a 4-way ladder match I had today, which lasted 26 minutes or something in the end and I won it with Carlito.  Played with Tidus_Swain and AndyWilliams24, which was good and looking forward to playing against NeoJedi in the upcoming week to see if I can kick his ass or his although Tidus is pretty good at the game.

Anyway, that was my rant on Smackdown and will probably be doing some gameplay footage during the next week just to see how things are for Total Annihilation unless one of you other guys is up for recording the matches.

A Video Blog once again!

[video=dicwxGes5bgIvTXf]

Yes, I am here after a week's absence from video format providing you viewers out there with another video blog for your viewing pleasure and I talk about the same old things so hopefully you will enjoy.

As of right now, I might be getting Smackdown in a while as I contacted my local GameStop and they have it in so I am going down with my brother, as he is picking up my father from work to see if I can get it (I am sure I can as GAME called me to say it was in and I can pick it up but due to the crap trade in price they are giving me, I am getting it at Gamestop, as they give me a better one indeed.

So, this time tomorrow I will probably give you my first impressions on Smackdown vs Raw 07 so stay tuned and ROCK ON!

All that it's cracked up to be! (Judging by the GS Review)

Well, I was pretty surprised that the review of Gears of War was already today as I was expecting it to be up later on but anyway.

But in the end, it got a 9.6 and to tell you the truth, I am a bit surprised at that score, as I was assuming it was going to get something like 9.0 - 9.5 or something like that but Jeff Gerstmann seemed to love it and well, 17th November can't come soon enough now for me because it looks awesome and looking forward to killing and slicing the locust horde real nice with the chainsaw and some of those other cool weapons.  HighTimesBX is going to be getting it now, probably because of the review, as he didn't seem to be really wanting it before but anyway, it will be great anyway.

Only 3 days to go now until I lay the smackdown on some wrestler's candy asses, as well as some people online.  I seen the IGN review of the PS2 version and it only got a 8 and thus I believe the 360 version won't get much more than that because it is the same game, only better graphics and that but we will wait and see when the GS reviews come as well.

In other news, got a new game if you check my now playing list and it is the latest game in the Dragonball Z Budokai series.  If you are a fan of the DBZ series, then you will enjoy this game and if you liked last year's game, you will like this one because it is just the same game except some little tweaks, which to me make the game better like several energy bars instead of the one and others bits and bobs.

Still playing WoW and Bully also and still great games and nothing really new to say about them except just progressing along on both of them, Level 17 Night-Elf Warrior and 31.2% complete in Bully (on chapter 3).

So, anyway that is all that I had to say and will probably have a video blog tomorrow and some other videos of something during the weekend so until then, this is Darrogamer signing out and remember to ROCK ON!

Is it out?

Hello once again, fellow Gamespotters. It is I, Darrogamer06, providing you with another written blog.

Anyway, I was going through the WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2006 forum here on Gamespot and there are certain topics on it saying that a store in Liverpool actually has it on sale or something according to some people or whatever and that it is in Glasgow as well. Basically, some users are stating they saw the game on sale at certain UK locations.

Well, either this is absolute malarkey and not true or else it is actually true and it is on release a week early, which to me would be awesome if it were here but doubt it though.

I have been told that it is out now in France and Belgium, meaning they are lucky ba***rds (just kidding). I will not be surprised though if it does come out now or in a few days before since this seems to be a regular thing occuring now in the UK, with them breaking release dates. It started with Lego Star Wars 2 being released 2 days earlier than the release date (it came out on the 9th September but wasn't supposed to be out until the 11th) and just recently there as well in that Bully and Pro Evolution Soccer were out a few days earlier than the planned release date (out 25th October, release date 27th).

It would be great if I went down tomorrow to GAME, Virgins Megastores or HMV and actually seen it on sale because if it were, no doubt about it I would get it but I can wait another week, unlike Cartman who couldn't wait 3 weeks for the Nintendo Wii to come out in South Park (funny episode, but strange with the whole Garrison storyline).

In other news, I actually went back to playing a certain GTA: San Andreas game for the PS2 earlier this week, as I have not played that game in ages and actually finding myself enjoying it again with the characters and the voice-acting and the missions etc and will be playing it and Bully up until the release of Smackdown (if it is out on the 10th) and will probably play nothing else that weekend.

Also been playing some more of World of Warcraft, which I am now at level 16 in it and still loving that game by the way and probably the only game for the PC other than Guild Wars, I have played for more than 5 hours total.

Finally, it is my mother's 50th birthday today and we are planning to go out for a meal this weekend, which will be nice, as it has been a while since we went out for a meal.

So, that is all from Darro right now and will have a video blog sometime this weekend and if you can PRETTY PLEASE give me some questions to answer, as I have not answered any in ages and miss doing it because I am getting tired of doing the same old blogs. Maybe you can issue me challenges as well like ffgothic does in I for an I and I would appreciate it also. So ROCK ON!

Broadcasting Total Annihilation, perhaps?

Since Smackdown is only 9 days away, I was thinking recently about the association/federation that NeoJedi, myself and AndyWilliams24 are going to be apart of and whoever else decides to join. I have a little idea in my head that could or may not work considering how well the online works in the end of the day because if it works fine, then this could work wonders and if not, then no point.

What my idea to the table is actually filming the matches we have at the Total Annihilation PPV, to make it seem like an actual wrestling PPV and broadcast them on here at Gamespot or a wrestling fan's site or whatever. The reason I thought of this is because I check out a wrestling site known as NODQ.com, and it has a weekly/daily show played on Day of Reckoning on the Gamecube, which for me is still the best wrestling game on the Cube and there is others as well that do shows on other games like SVD 2006, No Mercy etc.

So, I think it would be cool if one of us decides to actually record the matches played on Xbox Live and have commentary on them and that as well just to make it like a wrestling show so all of the Gamespot wrestling fans could check it out and perhaps become apart of it too.

So Denis and Andy and anyone apart of this, what do you think? If it works well and it is a success, then we can do it every week or several weeks and become a little video game e-fed of sorts.

Countdown to the Smackdown!

Hey, guys, well if all goes correctly and no surprising delays come about, it is just 11 more days here in in the UK until WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 makes it next-gen debut for the Xbox 360 and I am really looking forward to it.

I am a big fan of the Smackdown games even though I hardly watch WWE programming anymore (apart from the odd PPV) but I still enjoy playing the Smackdown games and have played everyone since the first one over 6 years ago in 2000 and each year, I feel they have improved some aspects with the odd dud (WWE Smackdown vs Raw and WWE Smackdown: Just Bring It).

I have been playing the demo that came on Xbox Live several weeks ago again recently and I think I am getting quite good at the new controls now as I beat the living dayloights out of Triple H with Kane, yesterday afternoon and then later on, absolutely destroyed Kane with Triple H, by doing moves through tables, busing him up badly etc.

I think the new controls are great and all the new additions like the enivornmental sports and the ultimate control moves and come 10th November, I will be prepared for what challenges lie ahead of me.

Denis aka NeoJedi if you checked out his latest video blog is setting up a federation of sorts where we can join and be a part of it with all our created wrestlers and is doing a PPV called Total Annihilation, which I am looking forward to and will be great fun, win or lose.  So if you want to be apart of it, then contact Denis and the more the merrier.

The good news for me is that I am going to be getting several days headstart for the game since it comes out here November 10th and in the US and Canada, November 14th so Denis, you better be practicing the minute you get the game because D-Mortis is coming for you!

In other gaming news, played a bit more of MKA's Konquest, which I like even though its pretty easy thus far and played some online, which I suck at but will get better if I decide to buy the game or rent it again.  Also, some Bully and did the Carnival Date mission, which was fun to do and have done all the Chemistry classes, 3 English, 3 Art, 3 Gym and 2 for the Shop and Photography classes.  So that is my progress thus far with it.

So, that is all from me now and until next time, ROCK ON!

Bully, Bully!

[video=cnU2xTqr5bgPuj_Z]

Here is another blog from yours truly where I just talk about more WoW, Canis Canem Edit or wheras you Americans get to call it, Bully and two Mortal Kombat games.

I know its long once again and also, I know I said I will do a video review of KH 2 but delayed it until further notice so I will do it eventually to those who care.

Anyway, take care and enjoy!
