Flawless Victory!

Hello, it is strange that a game that was dated to be release on Live Arcade in November suddenly turned up on it a few weeks earlier and then was pulled since it some sort of a mistake but in the end, it was not since it is up now to buy.

The game I am talking about is Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 by Midway and some consider it to be the best Mortal Kombat game while others would say MK 2 etc.  It is up now for 800 points and in the end, I think it is worth the points.

I never played this MK game before so I can't really state if it is really true to the arcade version or whatever but judging by Jeff Gerstmann's words in his latest blog, I would say it is.

If you were really disappointed with SF 2 Hyper Fighting, then chances are you won't be with this one because the arcade mode runs very smoothly and is not as broken as SF 2 and the online with what I played, did not lag at all but I only played agained the one person, who I beat 10 times to 4 so HighTimesBX aka Bruce, if you want a rematch, look for me tonight so I can beat you up and down again along with NeoJedi.

So I will probably do a review of this game as I am really liking it a hell of a lot better than SF 2 and I am not sure if I am right or not but this game looks a bit enhanced in HD and I am sure this got enhanced for HD while SF 2 althought it said it would, didn't in my honest opinion.

UMK3 beats SF 2 HF's ass anyday of the week in terms of the Xbox 360 versions with a definitive flawless victory.

Simply WoW

[video=JSNnl2f55bgOuDLd]

Well, here is another bog-standard blog from yours truly and this is just going through my impressions with World of Warcraft (great game), Grandia II (good game) and Unlimited Saga (crap game) so hope you appreciate that.

Anyway, I will be doing the Kingdom Hearts 2 video review tomorrow hopefully and if any of you viewers out there would like questions based on the game answered, then post them to me asap before tomorrow afternoon or I am just going to do it anyway but I doubt I will get any.

So enjoy the blog and post comments and questions for next time thanks.

I've gone and done it!

Yep, today I bought the game that many proclaim "takes over your life" and it is for the PC and is considered to be the best MMO around.

Yes, I am talking about a certain Blizzard game known as World of Warcraft or WoW for short.  You may be asking, why did I get this game when I never stated recently that I may be thinking of getting it.

Well, the reason I got is because of a episode of a certain tv show made by two people known as Trey Parker and Matt Stone. Of course, I am talking about South Park and its recent episode, Make Love, Not Warcraft.

I actually had a bunch of games that I didn't mind trading in and was actually going to trade them in for Just Cause for the Xbox 360 but in the end I only needed to trade in 1 game with nearly 10 quid left over, as the game only turned out to be £14.99 instead of £24.99, as priced.

I have installed it and signed up and that but due to how long it took to install and download the patch and that, I haven't gotten a chance to check it out yet since my brother is in the room now and hopefully, he will be going out later so I can have my first hands-on experience with the game.

In other news, I will definitely do the Kingdom Hearts video review sometime this weekend and not sure about a text review, as I find it hard to put something down for it.  So if you have any questions about the game you would like answered then let me know before tomorrow or Sunday so I can answer them while doing the review.

Tomorrow, I will give you my impressions with WoW if I get the chance to play it and have a video blog possibly so stay tuned!

After Hours Thoughts and confessions!

Well, I watched nearly 3 hours of After Hours after stating that I would watch only a bit and if it weren't for the fact that I had to go to church early in the morning, I would have stayed up for most of the whole thing but what I seen I enjoyed.

I didn't really watch anything besides the main stage and the confession cam although I peeked at the homer cam when he wasn't on the main one.  The Confessions cam was probably my favourite just to hear some people confess about some of the games they like, the games they got addicted to and what was the hardest game they finished and I really hope they have some sort of highlight package of it to show the best ones because it was good.

Also, I am really looking forward to Guitar Hero 2 now after the demo that was on first because judging by the songs, it looks set to be even harder than the first one and the experts in the first game may well have their work cut out in this one but we will wee.  I am still pumped for Bioshock also, as that game looks fantastic and really hope when it comes out, it is a nice lasting time instead of the usual 8-12 hour blast through your standard FPS and would have to check out System Shock 2 sometime just to see what the developers of this game are all about.

Anyway, since I enjoyed the confession cam, I decided that I will answer some of the questions that I can remember from it just so you can get an idea about me.

Q1.  What was the earliest game you played?

A: I vaguely remember it was probably an Atari 2600 game as I recall having one of them but I definitely know that I played the NES with Super Mario Bros, Zelda and Bubble Bobble among other NES classics.

Q2.  What is the hardest game you have finished?

A: Well, I have played some easy games and some hard games over the past 15, 16 year but two games that come to mind that were quite challenging for me were Ninja Gaiden Black as I know that people say it is one of the more recent hardest games to beat.  The other one is God of War in God Mode and it is the first time I ever beat a game in its highest difficulty but it was because I loved God of War and wanted to try it and after a lot of deaths, I did it in the end so those will be the two.

Q3.  Did you do anything crazy to get your hands on a game like ditching school or waiting in line?

A:  Fortunately, I have to say no I never did anything like that.  The only thing that would somewhat be the best I can come up with was just getting up early to go down to the town centre to get Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas and there was a bit of a line at the time with all the people getting their copies/pre-orders of the game and I actually went with a friend of mine but since he was under-age, he couldn't get his copy of it at that store so we just went to another store and he gave me the money then to get it for him.  Also, I traded in 3 games to get GTA and the guide cheaper.

Q4. Was there any game that you were really looking forward to that you played but ended not liking or somewhat felt disappointed?

A.  Zelda: The Wind Waker comes to mind for this one.  I thought it was a great game though but to me, it just felt a bit on the short side if you didn't do anything else in it like there were 3 dungeons, then you get the master sword, then another 2 then the whole triforce shards crap and finally Ganon's palace and I think I finished it in several days so I just felt disappointed by it.  T.H.U.G would probably be another disappointment as the older Tony Hawk games are a lot better than the ones out today and my favourite one of them would be 4.  I

In terms of consoles and that the PSP is a disappointment to me since I just seem to hardly play it and the lack of games that I would like to play for it and good part of the PSP catalogue are somewhat ports of games like Wipeout, Dragonball Z and Tekken.

Q5.  What has been the most you spent on a game or a console?

A.  Well, it if were me now, then it would probably be the Nintendo DS with 3 games that I got for £145 when it was only out in the UK and I was only interested in 2 of them anyway.  Other than that, it has been relatives and my parents that got me consoles for Christmas and birthdays etc but I sort of spend my money nowadays on games and saving up for the Nintendo Wii.

Q6. What are the games that you got addicted to?

A: Oblivion would definitely be one that comes to mind recently since I played over 150 hours or so maybe less on that game and to tell you the truth, I actually haven't played it in a while now and only come back to play it for around a hour or so and yet I have the game now for 6 months and still didn't get all the achievement points for it.

Kingdom Hearts 2 would be another example in terms of recent games since I wanted to get all the requirements in Jiminy's Journal and played that game for a good 5-10 hours each day for over a week just to finish all the stuff and get the secret ending the long and tedious way rather than just finishing it in proud mode.

Q7.  What consoles do you own?

A: Well I have the courtesy to owning 13 consoles overall and that will be 14 come December with the release of the Wii.  That is 9 home consoles and 4 handheld consoles.  It would have been 16 if I still had my Mega Drive/Genesis and my NES.  Anyway, they are the SNES, N64, Gamecube, Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, PS2, PSP, Game Boy Color, Game Boy Advance, DS, Xbox, Xbox 360.

Q8.  What will be your next purchase in terms of games and consoles?

A: The next console will definitely be the Wii since I have no interest in getting the PS3 when it comes out here in March 2007 until at least a year or 2 and when the price goes down.  In terms of games, there will be a few in the upcoming months that I have my eyes on and they are Gears of War, WWE Smackdown vs RAW 2007, Guitar Hero 2, Zelda: Twlight Princess, possibly Canis Canem Edit aka Bully and probably some other games.

Q9.  What is your favourite game of all time?

A:  This is a really tough question to answer because you cannot really pick the one game as you have several games that you really love and consider your favourite games ever.  If I had to pick one now, then it would probably be Super Mario World because I instantly loved that game the first time I played it over 10 years ago and the main reason why I had to get a SNES of my own at the time and even though I never got it until a few years later, I still remember it fondly and it is a game that you can come back to every now and again and people still deem it to be one of the greatest games of all time and the best platformer of all time and you can't go wrong with that.

So anyway, I am dragging this on so hopefully you enjoyed this interesting text blog I did here and once again, thanks for reading and if you would like questions to be answered then post them to me by pming me or put them in the comments section so I can answer them in my next video blog and also, I would very much like questions on Kingdom Hearts 2 for my video review I will likely to be doing this week so I can say more things about it rather than the usual graphics, sound gameplay stuff.

Anyway, that is me for now and until next time, ROCK ON!

As promised!

Here is my video blog as promised just going on about what I said in my blog in more detail so enjoy.

I'm Back!!!

Hello, fellow Gamespotters, I am back from my week-long haul at my grandmother's house to mind her while my relatives went on holiday and I stated that I will take Kingdom Hearts 2 and some games in my backlog to play and try to finish but in the end, taking the other games was a complete waste of time because quite frankly, I didn't play anything other than Kingdom Hearts 2 until last Wednesday evening where I played the newest addition to my games collection but more on that later.

The reason I kept playing Kingdom Hearts 2 is because I wanted to do everything in the game excluding the gummi routes missions because even though they were better than the last game, no point to them and you didn't need to do them in order to get the secret ending.  That means everything that needed to be done in order to complete the stuff in Jiminy's Journal including the mission requirements, synthesis notes (tedious as hell) and of course, fighting Sephiroth.

Well, last Tuesday, I managed to just do that by completing the toughest challenge in the game and whoever says otherwise is totally wrong.  I am talking about the 50-round, Hades Paradox Tournament Cup or whatever, which from match 11, have different rules applied to it every 10 rounds.  I was at level 99 at the time and was the only thing I needed to do in order to complete Jiminy's Journal and lo and behold, I did it on my very first go, even though in the later rounds from 41 onwards, it got really hard since some of the enemies really packed a wallop and had to keep healing and gliding away from them so I won't get killed.

I did, then went to finish the game by defeating Xenmas etc and got the secret ending, which was quite interesting to me whether it is actually a prequel or a sequel etc.

I must say that if you plan to do everything there is to do in Jiminy's Journal, then be warned because the worst part on it is the synthesis notes by completeing the recipes and getting 30 x shards, 25 x stones and 20 x gems is really tedious and will take you a while.  Sorry for the rant about the game but I wanted to let you know.  I will never do all the Jiminy requirements again, I can tell you that.

So anyway, look for a video blog later on today detailing more about my week with KH 2 and also I got a new game, which like Kingdom Hearts 2, took over 6 months to get here and that is Metal Gear Solid 3: Subsistence with the 3 discs.  Played some of it and like it better now because of the user control camera because quite frankly, the normal camera sucks and makes it harder to see where enemies are at.

So, I am back and happy also.  Also, please let me know have I missed anything big in terms of gaming news or big reviews because this has been the first time I have been on since Wednesday week ago and thus far, Clover Studios is dead is all I know of meaning I STILL hope Okami is coming out over here or else I will be one p***ed off person! Until later, ROCK ON!

Should I stay or should I go?

Well, I do have to go like I said a while ago this week to mind my granny while my cousin and his family go away on holiday but I seriously do not mind it at all to tell you the truth since he has a PS2 there and basically going to be playing some more Kingdom Hearts 2, which by the way I am absolutely loving thus far and will give you my thoughts and flaws about it in just a bit.  Some other games also I will play like some of the backlog games I have for the PS2 may be taken along just to catch up and finish.

Also, since no one bothered to answer in response to my question about Darro's Den, I just decided to scrap it so there will be no more Darro's Den because even though I don't put a whole lot of time into it but it takes a while to edit bits and then put them together and I don't really get any views or comments from them telling me what to do different or whatever so unless I get a big uproar, Darro's Den is official dead and will just go back to my regular video blogs.

So back to Kingdom Hearts 2, first of all, the game is a lot more enjoyable than the first even though I loved the first one but it is not because of the gameplay, as it is a bit flawed but because of the great cutscenes and experience you have by going through these various Disney worlds interacting with various Disney characters.  Also, voice acting for me is top-notch and one of the best aspects of the games and just love some of the voices in the game like James Woods as Hades and Haley Joe Osment as Sora, I believe does a great job.

But the game is not perfect and for me, it is because of two reasons:

1.  The gameplay - Now the gameplay is a lot better than it was in the first game I have to state that but it is still all too button-mashing and keep hitting X over and over again along with triangle sometimes for the reaction commands, which I think some of them are cool to see anyway).  It is better no doubt but I do like it, its just not brilliant.

2.  Difficulty - To me, this game is somewhat too easy thus far, I have only encountered one boss in the game that took me a few turns (3 to be exact) and that is the Demyx battle at Hollow Bastion mainly because of I didn't die per se, just that silly kill x no of forms in x no of seconds marlarkey.  I find it a bit too easy for my liking and I seen in the forums that Proud Mode, which is Hard mode is not that difficult either but I will see if they are right once I finish standard mode.

I love the game, like it better than the first, mainly because of the pretty good gameplay, excellent voice-acting and great cutscenes and experience you have.  Experience a text and video review of the game in a few weeks once I finish it and it is going to be somewhere between 8 and 9 I can guarantee that.

So, anyway, that is all for me now and this will be my last blog entry for a week or so since I will have no access at my granny's house but will let you know how I got on with KH 2 etc when I get back so take care everyone and ROCK ON!

Anyone?

Right, just wondering if anyone out there is experiencing this problem I am having in watching user videos?

I can watch them alright but the problem is they keep sort of stalling and coming back on like it freezes and comes back or on in other words, a bit laggy.  Like the picture stops and it goes again etc.  I am just wondering if it is just me or do you guys have this problem and Glitchspot up to its old tricks again?

My Sanctuary, My Sanctuary!

Yes, after waiting all week, I finally got Kingdom Hearts and thus far, I am enjoying it a lot even though I sort of know what happens in the first few hours (thanks to Mempf_DS's excellent marathon of the game). I recommend you check it out if you are interested in the game.

For progress, I am at the start of Sora's Adventure after playing as Roxas, which I liked anyway just because I like Twlight Town as it looks a nice place even though it isn't real. The title of the blog is a lyric line in the main song of the game, My Sanctuary, which I really like because I liked Simple and Clean from the first game anyway.

The sad news is I don't think this will do well in the UK, as opposed to the US because a certain other game came out today here, which unfortunately will do much better since it is the main sport here and comes out every year and that is FIFA 07. I hate sports games because I do not play any or whatever, as I am not interested in any of them, as games is my main interest.

In other news, I downloaded the WWE Smackdown vs Raw 2007 demo for the 360 and it took ages but thanks to NeoJedi for letting me know about it in his blog or else I would not have known until today perhaps. My first impressions are quite good but I do not like the fact that your opponent reverses about 90% of your moves and also beats you after you giving him a absolute beating during the match. As for the new features like the ultimate control moves and that, they make the gameplay a lot more realistic.

Plus, a overdue part of it is in it now with the ability to finishers on tables as I did the pedrigree and chokeslam in them yet you cannot do them on chairs, which sucks. The graphics are very detailed and one of the best parts but the commentary is just god awful and a lot of it is rehashed stuff from last year, which means they didn't bother this year and I couldn't care anyway since wrestling commentary in games are crap.

Also, look for the 5th episode of Darro's Den this weekend although the views of last episode were very bad indeed, less than 10. To tell you the truth, I think I will just drop it since most people out there would rather watch 2 minute blogs like 20 minutes, since they do not have time. Let me know if you agree or disagree. If I get enough views or whatever, I will do episode 5 and if not, then I am ditching the idea.

So, that is all I have to say for the time being so let me know about Darro's Den whether or not to continue or not because no one seems to care except for about 10 of you guys.  But, that is all from me for now so enjoy your weekend and ROCK ON!

Ah well, better luck next time!

Well, I was playing Chain of Memories but unfortunately just gave up at Hollow Bastion fighting Dragon Maleficient and people say this is an easy boss and for me it was not but I just couldn't get past her so I just decided, the hell with it and just read the story from that point in a story guide in GameFaqs just so I know.

BTW, I was playing it on an emulator and not the actual GBA itself but tried to get past her but her moves to big damage and just couldn't be bothered anymore.  I liked the game anyway although I am not entirely estatic over the card system stuff but it is different anyway.

So, this time tomorrow, I will finally have Kingdom Hearts 2 in my mitts and will be enjoying playing it as opposed to CoM as while fun, not a totally excellent game.
