@valdarez SR 1 and 2 (especially 2); were great games, but I always saw them as being too similar to GTA in all respects to ever be considered their own thing. SR3 was so satirical and over the top I think it really put the series more into a specific place, and helped give it a distinctive identity. I actually loved all the games, but definitley had the most fun with SR3 because of it's effective goofiness.
Very cool article GS. I'm glad these guys got to make their game, and the endeavor from start to finish was an interesting read. While it was only a weekend rental for me at the time, I remember Weapon Lord having a slick art style that really complemented the theme, and solid gameplay.
Also, lol @ Gamefan reviews. 99 out of 100 for Clockwork Knight 2.
I took a shot with the first game because of my love for quirky Japanese games, and wound up really liking it. Glad to hear the second is up to par, and will be buying it soon for sure.
@Lhomity @X_Box_Killer Dark Castle... Oh man. It's almost as bad as the time I choose Robocop 2 for the NES as my "birthday game" because I loved the movie. The tears...they flowed generously both times.
@Landsharkk Yeah, and this process will essentially cripple Gamefly which has saved me hundreds on shitty games I was able to finish in a week, and also won't allow me to lend a game to a friend or vice versa. It can play used games alright. After I buy a freaking code to play whats on the disc.
It has it's share of bugs, and the game certainly doesn't reinvent the wheel with what it offers, but what it does do, it does well, and is definitley fun to play. If you like Borderlands to any extent, I can't imagine you not liking Defiance more than just a little. There is actually a good amount of things incorporated into Defiance that I think would have made Borderlands 2 a bit more engaging. Like actual character customization, and ambient missions. Also, I haven't watched the show.
