This is a prime example of one of the major issues I have with the indie game movement at the moment.
By indication of this review, you've managed to put together a solid and rewarding game. Network yourself out and get an ARTIST on board to put together the visuals for it. Gameplay is definitley the most important part of any game, but if you cover your delicious pancakes with hot melted shit, most of us are not going to want to bother.
Someone wanted to make this game, and that shows here and there if you play it, but this definitley gets to get filed with MorphX, Infernal: Hell's Vengeance, and even the more recently Ride to Hell. Games that turned out so bad, the only justification you can come to in regards to why they were released, is that the publisher said "Screw it. Release it so we can make a few dollars on it."
Interested in both games, but like a lot of people, I'm already sold on The Witcher 3 based solely on the morals and credibility of the people behind it. I also would bet considerable money that it will be awesome. Most likely more awesome than Dragon Age.
As a long time Castlevania fan, I consider this good news. While I don't begrudge anyone, Castlevania fan or otherwise for enjoying Lords of Shadow, I personally can't even remember the last time I was more disappointed with a game.
I'd rather the series be left behind permanently than see it continue in the vein of Lords of Shadow.
@EddieDominguez I think we can remain butthurt over the consideration that such things would be in place, and we should definitley be wary. The butthurt serves as a reminder. And I think you meant "all intents and purposes."
