I'm not going to fanboy rage here in my comment that the reviewer is "wrong", but having just finished the campaign, I can say that the game hit a lot of the right notes with me.
The game isn't without it flaws obviously, and while I respect the reviewer's opinion here, I honestly think he was the wrong guy for this game.There are a number or really cool ideas incorporated within the games survival horror concept, and I think the majority of these went over this guys head.
Again, I respect his opinion, but it kind of irks me that some gamers might pass this game up based on this score, and it might be just the kind of game they've been looking for. I'm a huge horror and video game fan, and this is one of the finest TRUE "survival horror" games I've played since the original Resident Evil.
The first LEGO Indiana Jones charmed the hell out of me when I finally got around to playing it quite a bit after it's release. Definitely going to look into this one sooner rather than later.
This is the game I opted to get with the system, and I think it's definitley pretty fun. I also happened to like both Resident Evil: Outbreak games, so maybe my particular taste plays into my enjoyment with this one. If you like busting open zombie heads, don't expect the reinvention of the wheel, and are looking for something a bit more edgier than Mario for your new Nintendo, I think you'll be satisfied. My 2 cents.
Everything about it so far sounds killer. Big points to Rockstar for actually incorporating some genuinely new ideas to their triple A title. I have a feeling this will easily be the best GTA yet.
I agree more or less with this review, that said, Book of Memories is still in my opinion the most interesting entry in the Silent Hill franchise since the original Japanese games.
@shalashaska88 @immortality20 Yeah, I spelled his name wrong. My apologies. Here is an internet high five for you, as well as my sincere hopes that you calling me out on Gamespot has somehow made your day. I took the liberty of "liking" your comments about me being an ignoramus and reiterating the fact that I spelled the dude's name wrong in hopes that I can make you day even more. Thanks again.
@immortality20 My comment was definitely more of an opinion. Casino Royale was a good film, but personally I don't like Daniel Craig as Bond, so I had a difficult time appreciating it, since the allure of the film is the Bond performance.
I'm definitley a more classic Bond fan. The Terrance Young/ Sean Connery films especially. I thought Roger Moore was a good Bond, and I was able to have fun with the Pierce Brosnan and Tim Dalton Bonds, however, I know they pale when compared to the classics.
The first game actually has a decent cult following. I've always got that the original game was meant to emulate a B movie slasher film of the sorts for all intents and purposes, and if you actually play the game with that concept in mind, you'll most likely agree that it achieves it really well on just about all levels. (Building tension among the victims, scaring them, wasting them in creative ways in front of witnesses, being totally undetectable in the woods, dumb as dirt victims, etc.)
Both games have a lot of issues as far as gameplay is concerned, thats for sure, especially with PiP suffering from a lot of annoying crashes which is really inexcusable;
however, both games offer a really amusing and unique experience if you can allow yourself to have fun with them. I personally liked both games, and laughed my ass off at both.
