Oh god... This really is a WONDERFUL idea! I can imagine it now.... only one console. No competition at all. No stimulated growth or incentive to improve.
And being that there's no one to compete with, the console would cost $1200. :D Ahh Harada.... You're so narrow-minded.
This has got to be one of the dumbest articles I've read in awhile. Is it really this boring at Microsoft that you have to cater to their half-assed cover-up statements when everyone who has a working brain KNOWS FOR A FACT that a new XBOX is in the making?
Or was Durango simply a decoy in order to steer us unsuspecting gamers away from yet another unwanted and unnecessary update to the XBL interface?
Yeah, you go ahead and keep writing articles like this crap's actually newsworthy. This reminds me of that scene in 'The Naked Gun' where that villainous doctor crashes into a fireworks factory, and Lt. Drebin is standing in front of the mass of colorful explosions while shouting "PLEASE DISBURSE!! GO ABOUT YOUR BUSINESS!! NOTHING TO SEE HERE!!"
@digitaltiger In terms of what games Square made themselves? God, everything has been a disappointment. Enix still tries, so I can't hate them just yet.
But, don't tell me you avoid everything SE publishes. If so, you're missing out on awesome titles like Deus Ex: Human Revolution and Just Cause 2. :O
You guys are about half a decade too late. When they announced this at BlizzCon 07, people were still pretty excited and optimistic with the franchise. Keep in mind, Burning Crusade had only been out for six months then.
But all you guys did was drag your feet. Yeah, you nabbed a studio, and even raked in Sam Raimi for a while, before he got bored with the complete lack of action and wandered off to do something else.
Five years have passed, and the excitement has pretty much been buried. Making a movie now would be like someone trying to make an EverQuest flick. You guys are setting yourselves up to make the next Final Fantasy: The Spirits Within... and we all know what happened to Square after that flop...
@emperiox You spent $200 on a $150 collector's edition? I hope you live in Canada or something because you got ripped off.
By the way, you are going to be one sad, disappointed person if you really think you're going to take them to court. What are you going to sue them for? Pain and suffering?
The collector's edition came with a friggen' statue, which is a $50 value in itself. Add the hardcover artbook, authenticator, soundtrack, metal case, several exclusive in-game digital items...
Who the hell is going to feel sorry for you, other than yourself? No one twisted your arm to buy the collector's edition. Hell, I bought the collector's edition, and even though I canceled my account four months ago, the physical stuff was plenty worth it.
Cry me a river. You want financial compensation for your sad inconvenience? Sell it to someone. That's about all you can do.
