I am so sick of hearing that gaming needs Sony. When Sega left gaming was still fine and when Atari left gaming was fine. The only thing that would happen if Sony left is another company would join the war. I am not saying I want Sony to go but PS3 fans need to get a grip. Sony does not hold the gaming fabric together.rybe1025DERRR, but there style in the gaming business is a good and PROVEN one....2 generations dominated by them...stop acting like SONY is some noob.

[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"]lol, Killzone 2 is nothing but REALISM in every way....can't compare. Like i said, MGS games have always had that clean plain look, almost cartoony...along with realism..i recall Hideo stating this in an interview awhile back. Just like how Killzone 2 has ADDED colors to set the mood, even tho if it isn't realistic....they are games after all. BioShockOwnz
Pfft, that's not an artitistic decision. That gun lacks the bling bling detailed bump mapping, fo real! Word.
Yes it is, don't think its because of the PS3's inability to handle that detail..LMFAO! its a decision by the devs, that clean, sharp, and clear look. Besides, it looks fine... have you seen what a real version looks like? lol, pretty much the same, since when do rifles have so much added detail?http://i163.photobucket.com/albums/t294/mccai011/AssaultRifle2.jpg
thats an art decision, the game doesn't look complete realistic..it has its own, added visual touches (sometimes looks cartoony and too clean) just play MGS2 and 3...same thing. besides, how much detail does a gun have...lol?[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"][QUOTE="BioShockOwnz"]Look at the textures on Snake's gun, though. :(BioShockOwnz
Ask Guerrilla! :P

[QUOTE="Eyezonmii"]MGS4 some of the best character model detail, but thanks to that, the environment textures aren't the best with some real good ones here and there, MGS4 is also a technical achievement, with a lot going on, on screen. Games like Gears of War, balance things, Gears 1 has some insane looking textures, but the character detail was not so good, gears 2 bumped up the character details, but some of those good textures were sacrificed. Just depends where devs want more of that detail to go. If you've played MGS4 and watched the realtime cut scenes, you can't help but say WOW. IMO. Some of the best. Grady420One thing I noticed and you can check for yourself, whenever you are watching a cutscene that does not lead directly to gameplay it looks better. But still a great looking game, I just put Uncharted and GEOW2 in front of it still. The environments are lacking too much for me especially with texures, looks washed out sometimes. Character model is still the best out there in my opinion though.
(above shots are gameplay)
Even in gameplay form (just swing the camera to snakes front...the details looks about as good as the cutscenes...like i said, the character models are some of the best. Yes, come cutscenes can look better, BUT its all in engine and realtime.
to something like this:

Note: Its Resident Evil 4 reskined with mod using lara's model (PC version)
All these tomb raider games seem outdated and havn't evolved much, i think the game needs a new gameplay prespective and give the player more freedom when shooting (enough with the autoaim, crap)
Uncharted is another great example of where tomb raider should head, excpet with much more puzzles, etc.
Thoughts?
