Slightly off subject, but this is why the Rayman/Ubisoft incident was so confusing. I am wondering why it took this long to announce a Vita version though.

As long as companies (EA INCLUDED) remembers or realizes that every franchise can't go this route and survive. Some will do it and surprise us, other "sure bets" will die before delivery.

And the whole "like the Gap" analogy raises some holes. I like buying things from different stores in the mall, but I REALLY, REALLY HATE shopping at the mall. If I can get in and get out quickly (or have all day to wait for people), I'll buy just about anything. If it takes me too long to get where I want to be(crowded mall now = cluttered/confusing online store), or have to deal with crap that has nothing to do with me before I get there (survey/perfume/kiosk person = pop ups and 5 survey requests before I even select my product)....... Let's put it this way, I have given my wife and kid gifts days after an event because I would have went to jail having to deal with people in a Texas mall.

Am I the only one that's getting tired of seeing the term "MMO" pop up in the latest articles involving SimCity?

You did create an MMO EA, but you seem to be the only one that didn't know that before you released the game. Even some of the worst MMO's in the past 5 years have had better servers at launch (some of them even came from you). SC may not be a "real" MMO type of game, but it still has all of the requirements of one (on the tech side). At the end of the day, most mistakes were simple, and are already fixed.

@steelmouth The specs are decent, the amount of announced support is fair, and the only thing they really haven't told us is the price. Sony's main accomplishment was that they got rid of a lot of negative rumors, like banning used games (even though that is still left open...), that surrounded the system.

If the next MS system uses AMD, it will boil down to the exclusives again. This time, I think Sony may get it right at launch. The PS4 doesn't have enough to make it a must buy for me (granted, if I had a PS3 this generation, I'd probably be saving my pennies right now....), but it has set the bar pretty high for what we will be expecting from MS.

The only way to get a project like this done in such a short amount of time would be to throw as many people you can at it. I know they were working on it before the announcement, but Oct is the tenth month, and we're already at 3....

I want to know who owns the rights the arcade game. I used to see it in bus stations a lot, but it was a ton of fun. I'd buy an eShop or XBL version in a heartbeat.
