Thunder Kiss + News

So here comes another request, this time by Donut5. The song is Thunder Kiss 65 by White Zombie, which can be found on the first Guitar Hero for PS2, played on Expert. I've had better quality videos, but you'll have to do with it ;p enjoy!

On another note, I've bought a new printer! Nope, my old printer isn't dead. It's actually in perfect shape. I only had one minor problem with it, which basicaly is a major problem for me: Lexmark isn't compatible with Linux. So in other words, I couldn't use my Lexmark All-in-One printer/scanner/copier on my Linux, and I was getting tired of having to reboot under Windows everytime I needed to print something.

To remedy to this situation, I've bought an HP All-in-One printer/scanner/copier, since I know that HP is a smart company and always make their stuff compatible with everything. So I've got a pretty, beautiful new printer now. I didn't even have to install anything. Simply put in cartridges in the printer and plugged in the USB wire and BOOM! Everything was done. I can now print and scan directly from my Ubuntu distribution, making me another reason grayed out from the "reasons-to-keep-windows" list. Here's a picture of the printer that I found on the net:

HP All-in-One

It is called HP Deskjet F4140. Beautiful, isn't it? I just love HP :]

Mm.. what else could I talk about now? Gotta make this blog worthy for Vednor! lol. I haven't been up to much lately. Working, I got asked to do some more over time this weekend and I told em to **** off (in more polite words, of course) since I had been working for 12 days straight without any free weekend last weekend. It felt good too. I slept like 10 hours from friday to saturday, which usually I don't sleep more than 8 hours. I've been feeling very tired last week because of this. Yeah yeah, I know, what's tiring in playing video games all day.. Well damn, it is tiring lol. My project is finally over and I've got my name in the credits of the game as a tester. Despite this being an educational game, it's pretty cool to see your name in the credits. For now I'm on a project that's suposed to last a couple days only, after that I have absolutly no idea what I'm going to be on. As far as I know, I'm not even assigned for friday, so I'll have to go check that up with the schedule dude if I'm still not assigned when going in tomorrow.

I don't think there's anything else to discuss for now. I've been playing Crisis Core like mad crazy when coming back home in the evening. Definately a game I recommend to everyone, whether you like Final Fantasy or not, because they've changed alot of things from the basic system of past games. The new combat system totally kicks ass. Instead of being a normal turn-based thing like usual, you can actually run around (much like in FFXII) xept this time around forget the simple turn-based stuff; You can actually dodge, defend, attack, whenever you feel like it mostly. It feels much more like an action game with a touch of RPG in the story. Definately better than what Square used to do for FF games. If every Final Fantasy games would work with that system, I'd love them all much more.

Otherwise, I still play and continue my game in Silent Hill Origins. That game freaks me out as ****. Gotta love SH. Very strange game. In my favorite SH games, so far this one is getting high up there on the list, along with SH1 and SH3.

Me and my ex are taking some time away from each other now as well, since we aren't sure yet of what to do or what's happening. In a way, I find it better like this. I mean.. It is still too vague for either of us to really know what's going on and I need some time myself anyway. Not like I lack the time to be with myself only anyway, but yeah.. Maybe some of you might understand where I'm going with all of this, or what I mean.

That's about it! So I got a request for people out there who asked for GH songs, and I even got a decent blog for my friend Vednor this time around. Hope that fulfills everybodies needs lol.

One (Error: Topic titles must be between 5 and 80 characters.)

Time for another request, which is the song One by Metallica, requested by FalemBandicoot. I did the song on the Hard difficulty since the solo on Expert literally kicks my ass lol. I've did a better performance on the solo before, but still got a better score this time around. Weird, cause everytime I record a new GH vid, I get a better score lol. Enjoy :]

(I know I ain't got much to say, but that's because I haven't been doing much lately other than play Crisis Core and Silent Hill Origins)

New game+Other GH request

I'll start off with the new game I bought, which is Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII.

Yep, I bought it. First of all, I think it is Uhero who kept talking about this game. Already there, it made me want to check it out. Not only that, but a friend at my job kept talking about it too, which then got me even more interested, especially considering that this came from a guy who actually hates Final Fantasy. I'm not a big fan of Final Fantasy, rather not anymore. Ever since FFX-2, I entirely dropped out of the Final Fantasy world and FFXII simply enhanced that feeling. On top of it all, I grew up in my early teen years playing FFVII all the time on PS1, beatin it several times a year, so my curiosity was already there for knowing what happened before. So yep, I bought it and I have to admit that so far it is amazing. More details on this in the later blogs though since now it's time for another Guitar Hero request that I was asked.

This time comes the song Beast and the Harlot by Avenged Sevenfold, requested to me by my good GameSpotting friend; Uhero41. I did the song on the Hard difficulty since the verses totally wrecks my wrist when playing it on Expert lol. I just hope Uhero will be around long enough to see this since he said it was his favorite song in GH2. Don't leave for too long buddy, you will be missed on GameSpot.

Few things + GH Request #1

First of all, I gained one level and am now at level 31 on GameSpot. Woo for me!

Second of all, I finished God of War (apart from the God mode and couple of bonuses) and I've put up my review for it. So yep, I now have a God of War Chains of Olympus review up for ya'll, although I don't even know if you care lol.

Then, I've put up the first request I've got for a Guitar Hero song, which is Fat Lip by Sum 41. The request was requested by Uhero41 (now you know where the 41 comes from!) and well, here it is, on Expert difficulty. I know, I know, I messed up some parts ;p

Fav GH song ever.

Sorry for those of you who wants the requests now (although they are already recorded), but I HAD to post my favorite song ever in the GH universe before posting the requests.

So my favorite song is Free Bird by Lynyrd Skynyrd on Guitar Hero 2. I've done the vid on the Hard difficulty and the video is seperated in two halves because it was 1 minute longer than the lenght GameSpot actually allows me to upload lol. I did better than I actually ever did on it! Oh and yeah, at the end of the second vid, there might seem to be some frame rate error or something, but there isn't, it's just because I said "**** yeah!" at the end of the song and so yeah...isn't allowed on GS so I modified it to respect the rules :]

Next blog will be the requests, I promise! (current requests: Fat Lip, Beast and the Harlot, One)

3rd Fav GH song

So I decided to put my third favorite song to play in Guitar Hero 1 up right away. I'll take requests (such as Uhero's request) and put them in my next blog. For anyone who haven't seen the other vids and want to (either GameSpot people are not active lately or they don't care lol doesn't bother me) they're in my previous blogs. By the way, Uhero, this doesn't stop you from requesting more! I've been loving recording GH songs, I even recorded my first vid for GH2 lol.

The new song video is All of This by Shaimus. For some odd reason, I actually really like this song. I played it on Hard because I literally suck at it on Expert lol. I can go through it, but it's a horrible experience and horrible for your ears. So yep, Hard :]

Enjoy!

2nd GH Vid

I've had fun making one video of Guitar Hero, so I decided I'd make a video of each of my favorite songs on all 3 games! That's unfortunate for you people lol. I'll also take request if people want, whichever song they want, whichever difficulty, even if it means I'm going to fail it badly lol (sort of like..requestin, all while staying in GH1, Bark at the Moon of Ozzy Osbourne on Expert would probably give me a failure..I know I can beat it..but not all the time lol).

This time around, one of my favorite song to play on GH1 apart from Stellar (which you can see in my previous blog) is Killer Queen by..well by Queen lol. I'm not a big fan of Queen, I respect what they did in the music industry, but damn is that song fun to play! I did that one on Expert, again, and I mess up the end, like I usually do lol. I actually got it better than usually though, so it's all good.

[video=dnI1kDbw5b0Msjbc]

Next up will be All of This by Shaimus which is another and my last favorite song to play in GH1. This time around it'll be on Hard though, as I mess up big time on Expert in that song. I say it right away so people don't go requesting it...unless you really want it on Expert lol. That's if I do get any requests at all.

If anyone wants the list of songs in GH1, I can put it in my next blog when I post the vid for All of This, or you can also type "guitar hero songs list" in Wikipedia and look for "Guitar Hero List of Songs" or something.

I forgive the penguin with a new video!

Yep I finally came around knowing what I was doing wrong. I simply forgot to put a sample bitrate! See, thing is, although I could use a frontend GUI (sort of a window to make it look like a software) and make it an easy drag and drop thing, I wanted to do it myself with a command line. So yep, I simply forgot to put the sample bitrate. So the command line looked as simple as this;

mencoder 00001.avi -o 00002.avi -ovc lavc -oac mp3lame -srate 16000

That simple. Yep. So it was me to blame ;D

Anyway now I've uploaded the video which is me playing the song Stellar by Incubus at Guitar Hero on the Expert difficulty. Quite an easy song I must admit, but it remains one of my favorites to play in the game. I did a little mistake, where I accidentaly pushed the higher fret when holding down a long note which simply cuts the sound short, but doesn't mess up my combo or anything. Enjoy!

By the way, the weird dark, thick line passing through is cause from my cam filming the TV, don't worry,my TV doesn't do that lol.

The Penguin made me mad for the 1st time!

Yep, Linux, for the first time of my life, made me mad. How? When trying to compress an uncompressed AVI video file. Why would I need to do this? Because I want to upload the video to GameSpot, problem is the video is 161MB, and GameSpot's limit is 100MB, so I'm required to compress the video. I can convert to other formats easily, but keep em uncompressed. I just can't figure out how to compress it.

I'll have to do some research around the web and probably reinstall my encoder and maybe install more codecs and etc. But for some reason it made me mad.

I bet I only miss some codecs, which I'll need to look into. I bet this is the only problem I'm having right now: Missing codecs. I'll find out eventually...probably tonight. I'm persistant with Linux lol. Can't be worst than the first time I ever touched the terminal to install OpenOffice.org, damn was that funny. I had no idea what I was doing lol.

Well, hopefully by tomorrow I'll have it done and all good, we'll see. By the ay,I don't feel dizzy anymore lol.

Dizzy

In reply to Vednor's comment on my last blog at the same time, not everything has been alright lately. I've been feeling rather..dizzy. Like if my head was barely spinning around, mostly like if the world was leaning on the right side for some reason, which is kinda weird. I've come to many conclusions about this.

First thing that poped in my dizzy head, I've been drinking a hell lot of coffee and not much water, like I used to. I'm used to drinking a hell lot of water everyday and whenever I drink almost none, after a while I start feeling dizzy. Now that I've started working as a tester, I've been drinking coffee after coffee all day long and maybe 1 or 2 glass of water at night and that's about it. So my first step in knowing if that is the reason I'm dropping the coffee to my usual morning coffee and will spend the rest of the day with water. Yesterday I was already feeling much better, but I woke up this morning with the same dizzy feeling again. We'll see.

Second thing was some kind of illness which I forgot the name of, but which is about the liquid in your ears or something..or in between them..anyway that liquid around there that keeps your balance might be un-balanced resulting in dizziness and my head spinning around. That could be highly probable if it isn't about the water I've been drinking.

Third option wuld be my pression, which high or low pression can make your head spin around. Eentually though, a drop of pression makes you black out which I've been feeling like this since last wednesday and still haven't blacked out or anything extremly wrong. So I don't put too much believing in that option for now.

I don't really see what else. Hey, maybe I'm dieing lol. Who knows. I'll stick to the water option for now, if it doesn't help or anything well I won't have much of a choice but to consult a doctor or something. Whatever it is, I still go to work and what not, xept I don't do much out of my free time other than sit around or lay around. Might also be that I do spend 7 hours a day staring at a screen when I work, which would make alot of people dizzy to start with lol.
