[QUOTE="LastRambo341"]

[QUOTE="EpiphoneMan2008"] Well from my experience with the game, it would work but not well..... I only use my wii for Zelda and Mario games now, but i used to have ONLY a Wii... I just want to tell you that RE5 will be downgraded a LOT it requires a nearly 6 gig install to run sufficiently, and with Wii you cannot do that. You will be having 10 min loading times and bad graphic downgrades and odd controls

EpiphoneMan2008

Odd controls? The Wii version will have the best controls.

I dont want to wave rapidly while trying to do some of the specific things in the game ( Not to ruin anything if you guys do happen so obtain this game )

"waving rapidly" is a common mistake made by people that just don't know any better.

I just hope there will always be a way to enjoy our ps1/ps2 games when the ps2 will be no where to be found.jack00

If you can still find BRAND NEW Dreamcasts online, even 9 years after they stopped producing them, then i'm sure you'll still be able to find both new and old PS2's for at least a few more years as well.

I was a hardcore Sega fanboy throughout the 90's, but I gotta say that my PSX was my favoriteconsole during the 32/64-bit and Dreamcastera. I loved my Saturn, and the DC was an awesome machine, but the PSX in my opinion really introduced me to modern gaming while still being able to maintain that old-school fun of it.

I heard that production of PS2 consoles/software will stop as off 2011. Gotta say, it's amazing how much Sony stuck by their word and didn't bail out on the PS2 prematurely, even though they came out with the PS3. I wish the other 2 companies would follow the same philosophy as well.

Yes, my point was from the beginning that RE4 could have started a whole new series of its own and then have sequels to it.

About Final Fantasy... They have always been independent games story wise with no relation to previous games, but as far as everything else goes, they're still Final Fantasy. What I find ironic is that SquareSoft said they'd never make a direct sequel to any of the games (until Enix came along, that is) and when they finally decided to make sequel to FFX, it turned out to be the biggest insult to the series ever, and fans too.

The_Gaming_Baby

I agree and I would have much prefered if RE4 was something else because at least then we could have had the classic Resident Evil games plus the new style of gameplay as part of the new game series. Capcom would have had 2 great game series under their belt. Bad move imo

The type of gameplay in the traditional RE games was getting rather dull, and generic in my opinion though. It was of course awesome on the 32/64 bit consoles, but as soon as it hit the 6th generation consoles (specifically with RE: Zero), I find it started to just get very repetitive. I have absolutely no problems at all with the direction that Capcom decided to head in with RE4.

Resident Evil for me. Been in love with the series ever since I first played the original on the Saturn back in 97. I've tried to get into SH in the past, but could never really get attached to them quite the same way I did with the RE games. I did however really enjoy Shattered Memories though.

No offense to anyone, but why are some of you guys going against a new Wii HD console? Is it going to hurt you guys in any way, shape, or form? With most of the core games already on store shelves, there are only Metroid Other M, and the NEW Zelda left to dish out. Is it so bad that you'll be able to play Wii games in full HD Glory on your HDTV? What's so bad about that...? I just dont get it.Elian2530

Because some people aren't too crazy about the idea of a system being dropped after just 4 years on the market. If the Wii could potentially make a solid run of at least 6 years (which I think it definitely can), then why should they have to resort to releasing a new console so soon? People spend good money on this hardware/software, hoping they can get the most out of the experience for a decent period of time. As an old school Sega fanboy, I of all people know how much it sucks to invest so much money into a console, only for it to be dropped shortly after its release.

My personal favorite has always been Master of Monsters. I also enjoyed General Chaos and ToeJam & Earl, though I don't know whether they were particularly popular or not outside of my personal experience when I was 12.

Not sure about the first two you mentioned, but I do know that Toe Jam and Earl actually went on to become a rather popular game in the early 90's, as did its sequel.

Depends what you're looking for really.

If you are looking for an entirely different gaming experience, and a really entertaining multi-player console, then I'd say go for it. It's machine that everyone, regarldess of sex or age group, can really find something enjoyable in. It's also selling for a pretty good price now, bundled with both Wii Sports and Wii Sports resort.

If on the other hand you are more of a graphics junky, or someone looking for more quality games (especially sports games) from 3rd party developers, then I'd recommend you go with one of the HD consoles instead.

Lastly, I wouldn't worry too much about the possibility of Nintendo coming out with a new console anytime soon. At least not before 2012 in my opinion. The Wii has just been selling too damn well for Nintendo to think abuot abandoning it within the next year. I also think that 3rd party developers are starting to catch on a bit more in regards to the Wii's technology, and thus some better 3rd party games are likely to come out for it from here on. If Nintendo comes out with a new gaming system anytime soon, it'll likely be a handheld one (3DS).

The level of difficult and challenge in old games more or less compensated for their relatively short length. Most 2D games (aside from RPG's at least) during the 8-bit and 16 bit era didn't take more than a couple of hours to actually beat (perhaps even less if they didn't have a "save" or password feature built in). So in that respect, it was necessary to make them as challenging as possible in order to make the experience more worthwhile. Unfortunatley though a lot of these games took it a tad too far at times, making the games more TEDIOUS as opposed to challenging.
