I'm pretty sure the controls are completely changeable. I'm not sure if you can make the zoom a click of the button or not though.I'm in the beta, and aside from the network problems that sometimes spur up (I forgit it for it's Beta) I don't think it's that awesome.
The Co-op is fun, despite it just throwing hoards of enemies at you really, and sometimes may feel repetitive in objectives (destroy wave X, push buttons Y, withstand for Z minutes.) I hope the variety improves later on.
The MP isn't bad. Skirmish is fun and nice if there's a game with like 60 people on board it feels pretty intense. However, the other modes are just pretty bland. Team Deathmatch with 10 or so people just becomes a convuluted mess I feel. The weapons are nice and fun to use. I hope however Insomniac comes out with some tweaks ont he controls. I'd like a press to zoom in and out button. I really hate holding down a button to zoom in. Also I have to admit, I feel the PS3 controller just isn't suited for shooters almost. The sticks themselves just don't seem to have enough sensitivity for smooth controls, but I guess it balances out because this game has some of the sickest lock-on I've ever played in an FPS.

I played the Resistance 2 beta... and I'm not impressed. Sorry... I just don't like Resistance. When I play multiplayer games, I play REAL multiplayer games like Counter Strike: CZ, 1.6, CoD 4 and Team Fortress 2 (all on PC).wapahalaSeems like you dismissed it. But it's cool not to like it, I'm not saying eveybody will like the game. What I'm saying is that if you play it for awhile and get an understanding of it you'll get hooked. First time I played the beta I wasn't wowed. But the more I play it the more I'm anticipating the game. You'd prolly like it if you could play with Keyboard and mouse though.
What exactly is it doing that will separate it from the rest of the other multiplayer shooters out there? At least a game like Left 4 Dead is trying to mix things up by changing the formula a bit.foxhound_foxThe 8 player Co-op is setting itself apart already from any game that I've played. The classes an perks mixed into the gameplay adds another dimension. L4D looks fun and cool, but I think people are undersestimating how big R2 will be in scale. When I say the scale of this game is HUGE I mean it. When you play 8 player co-op the enemies numbers go off the charts... and not a SECOND or a frame of slow down.
Left4dead I think has thatEltrozNo. The best way to describe R2 is like this... Say Halo3 and COD4 had a baby. R2 would be that that child.
[QUOTE="stereointegrity"][QUOTE="DeathScape666"]60 player online....2 main storylines....8 player coop story.....single player story also.....a few reasons as to why it may get AAAAA. If Far Cry 2 got an 8.5, then there's no way in hell Resistance will be able to get a 9. I have no freaking idea why so many people think this will get an AAA score.
It'll be an 8.5 MAX.

That's what the all the supporters of the game flaunt around. Am I supposed to be impressed by increased numbers? I doubt many people will play with 60 people, and even if they do, it's not going to be that incredible. If big numbers equaled a good game, then a console game before Resistance 2 would put 60 players in.
2 main storylines that probably aren't long.
Numbers, numbers, numbers... That and "big boss battles" are the only thing I see out of this title that peole are getting excited for. Sure, it will be a great game, but at the end of the day, it isn't a game that will crown the PS3. Insomiac games never do that. They merely help it. You can never put up one of their games with "the best of the best."
Being in the beta and playing it regualarly I can tell you that people will play 60 player matches. The maps are HUGE. So big that sometimes you actually have to run to the action and find enemies.
