@superfluid @HydePark1980 @Ixidor56 The experience that gamers are looking for falls in the category of death and carnage. Sales don't lie....gamers want to maim, kill and destroy....and when you play anything outside of that realm you're labeled a casual gamer or non-gamer. Developers want their games to simulate the real world......they're given a canvas and told that the sky's the limit and they produce one shooter after another. What a waste.

@superfluid @HydePark1980 That's true but for a lot of gamers and developers they could care less about stories, it's all about what the character they're playing as can or can't do in the game.

@Ixidor56 @HydePark1980 Being entertained was what gamers wanted in the 80's and 90s. Nowadays gamers are looking to be spoken to thru the games that they play.....the problem is that developers what to keep everything grounded in rules of reality.

How much more real do these developers want this industry to get?! I thought the whole idea of picking up a video game and playing was to escape the everyday stresses of life and grabbing the keys to enter a world where a developer let his or her imagination run wild.

@M3o5nster @HydePark1980 The problem with all that is that it brings costs up and 3rd parties run the risk of "If this game doesn't sell we're in deep trouble." More and more 3rd parties are dropping like flies.

@M3o5nster @HydePark1980 Let's keep things in perspective the only improvement this industry today is interested in is horsepower.......and unfortunately they've conditioned gamers to think the same way.

@ZOD777 @ArataWata That mindset is exactly why a lot of gamers and developers are missing the bigger picture (start thinking outside the box). A game doesn't have to have cutting edge graphics to be good. Nobody's saying we should go back to 8-bit but we've reached a point in games (graphically) where you can tell one object from another.

@kronos96 @ @hella_epic Gotta agree with kronos96 on this one, the real reason RE4 was a success was because of the complete overhaul of the series. If you look at series now they just basically followed the same blueprints but made it bigger and louder. Not to mention a lot of games in that category now have started to follow the same formula.
