@theend3r @JJames3dCG Yea, and you know that's exactly what they are doing. Constant surveillance and market research through data mining. I don't want some marketing exec staring into my soul. That's just too much. Make great games because your passionate about it, not because you think it's the perfect game based on data mining.
It's very simple. If most people have their consoles connected all the time anyway, make the games assuming that....DON"T make the console that way. This is a very simple way to get the best of both worlds. The only reason to do it M$ way, is to do something shifty. They are trying to collect data as their most likely goal for this. That and striking deals with the publishers on used games. I hope no one buys the industry destructive X1.
I frustrates me that they have a game like FFXV stuck in limbo like this. And for that matter FFXIV had to BOMB before they made it right. It just seems they have too much going on, and not enough focus on a single title or two at a time. They need to do a "Flash Bulletin" at their offices and tell all employees that they will be working on one title at a time until it's done. Start with finishing off FFXIV to be the best it can before launch. Then they whole of Square Enix moves on to FFXV to have that thing ready for release within the next 6 months. Then move everyone on to Kingdom Hearts 3....to it's completion. I'm not saying they have to do that indefinitely but at least for now, to get out this titles that have been stuck in developmental hell.
I've always been a playstation fan. But I bought a 360 at launch, because it excited me. It looked cool!! (and for a few years, was cool) But as those years passed and the 360 games dwindled, so did my appreciation for the console. I've never cared for MS as a company, but was willing to give their 360 a go because it seemed to be aimed at me, the gamer. Once that changed (around 2009ish) I sold my 360 and continued gaming on my PS3.
PS4 seems to be right on track for greatness this go-around. And while I was at GameStop plunking down my money to reserve my next-gen console sweetness, the clerk told me "That if I hadn't come in to pre-order it today I probably wouldn't be getting one this year." They said they had three times the pre-orders for PS4 as they did for X1. The clerk himself was a core 360 guy, and said he's getting a PS4, skipping X1. Get out there and pre-order yours today. Show M$ that they can't take gamers for granted and get away with it!!!
@HazaRDReborN @JJames3dCG @mexetudo13 No, see that's where you are delusional. Sony out and out said at the live E3 2013 coverage WOLRDWIDE, WE SUPPORT USED GAMES, NO ONLINE CHECKINS REQUIRED!! You can't turn around and say, oh they'll do it too. When they will not. As for "licking balls" they've always been in tune with what they fanbase whats, and have continued to bring it. The services through Gaiki (like Cloud streaming of entrie PS library) not being complete on day one, well that's a tall order my friend. But given that it will be there before year one is out, and the console has 10 year legs....I'm fine with that. There will be plenty to play during the first year anyway, unlike some other consoles. Paint your picture however you want to, but M$ has always been greedy as FU@K and now it's just more clear than it ever has been to those that couldn't see it. Sony is and always has been the place to be if you are a dedicated gamer.
@mexetudo13 Ya the fact that the HDD is user replaceable is a HUGE DEAL. With the X1, you cannot do that. More examples of how M$ is attempting to rob their consumers blind. While Sony, while still a company that's trying to make money, is doing things the right way!
This guy just spoke all the things I think and feel about the industry today. Gaming back then was so free to be whatever it wanted to be. The creativity, innovation, and FUN was and still is, unmatched to the gaming of today. I've felt for the last 5 years or so, that the decrease in new IP, and over abundance of FPS/generic game models, have left our industry feeling stale and forgettable. Nothing would make me happier, than to see this next-generation takes us back to what made gaming great in the first place. (I remember playing the level in Ninja Turtles, and everything he said about it rings true) Just think, maybe what Sony is doing with the Indie push, will start a movement to get us back to the gaming golden years some day through constant innovative indie titles!!!
@Greyfeld @sladakrobot @JJames3dCG Exactly! I owned a 360 alongside my PS3 until around 2008-2009, when I sold my 360 due to lack of games. I was hopeful about the X1, but wasn't delusional. And my fears were confirmed on the XboxRevealEvent. They can show all the games they want now at E3, but they already made their "Reveal Statement" and what they said was....."We're now about TV first, and Games 2nd...if that." I'll stick with the PS4, and utilize my WiiU in the coming months years when it's sure to get some games....one day.
Gotta love you sad sad Xbone fans. You know, if you liked gaming half as much as you stick up for M$, you'd be pretty happy buying a PS4. But alas, some are just more content to be controlled by the man, and sadly stick up for them.
