Well, it does make sense for them, financially. I'd be happy to see most, if not all of their games on multiple systems if it means that they'll still be able to make new ones. Better multi-plat than the company packing up shop. I'd quite like to see Dead Rising and Lost Planet on the PS3 eventually.

On a side note, crying shame about Clover, I loved Viewtiful Joe, Okami and God Hand :(

No, console games are increidbly easy to pirate just by flashing a copy of it from Blockbuster. Its just because the vast majority of console consumers are too bad to know how to do this. Its not that PC gaming is EASIER to pirate for.Vandalvideo

Sorry to sound stupid, but what do you mean by 'flashing'? The way I understand things, to pirate a console game, you burn a copy, and play it on a modded system (which kills the warranty, and can possibly screw over your console to boot). Whereas with a PC, someone can just write up a program to bypass keycodes/security, and doesn't risk destroying the hardware (unless it's actually a virus they made to be a jerk, but that's a different story).

Mind you, I'll admit that I don't really know THAT much about console pirating, I prefer doing things the legal way so I never really researched it.

While I love my console games, there's just no question that the PC is a superior system, for games and otherwise. There are some awesome games for consoles that for control reasons I can't imagine playing on a PC (Devil May Cry, Legend of Zelda, etc), but they're mainly the exception rather than the rule. I think a large amount of people just like consoles because they're quicker and easily accessible, you don't need to know stuff about specs and such. Makes things much easier for casuals in particular.

The only major, standout drawback to PC gaming in my opinion is the fact that it's worlds easier to pirate games on computer than on consoles, which hurts developers significantly.

SMT: Nocturne. Stuff looking realistic, the atmospheric cel-shading was more visually appealing to me than modern graphical powerhouses like Oblivion.

But then, that's just my personal preference.

Haha, nice work, that game is hard as nails. Now beat it again on Hard mode with the 'Kick Me' challenge (ie. No God Reels or God Hand specials) :P

Shame there's probably not going to be a God Hand 2, that'd be something to look forward to.

The moment a review arrives in the mail, all bickering, arguing etc cease completely. Everyone crowds around the envelope. It is opened. They look at the number. Chaos ensues.

Most of you fail to read.
I know it was running on an SDTV so I took that drawback into account and didn't go "OMG THERE WUR SO MANY JAGGED PIXELZ N STUFF", because I knew it would look much better on an HDTV anyway. Same with the 360.

And I'm not basing the entire system on my experience, I'm bashing the Controller and Motorstorm ONLY. That's one of the first things I said in my original post.

Thanks for not reading. You make me feel so much smarter.

You expected people to read anything other than the topic title, and maybe the first sentence or two? In System Wars? Self-owned. :|

The ironic thing about this is that more people will buy the game as a result. What gamer DOESN'T want to bash the hell out of Jack Thompson? Way to backfire, I'd love to see the lawsuit if he persists

[QUOTE="Jagazaar"]

Trying to pin down the most influential and important titles in gaming history to just a few is pointless. It's like trying to pin down a few songs or bands as the most important/influential ever. There are simply way too many genres, franchises, spin-offs, styles etc to claim that just a few could possibly be responsible for the massive range that exists today.

On a side note, I'd easily put classic arcade games like Pacman or Space Invaders as more historic than games like Madden or Metal Gear Solid (much though I love the latter). And FF7, while undoubtedly more popular, is less important than the original Dragon Quest on the NES, which pretty much started the whole idea of console RPGs, like it or not.

Truthgotmebaned

FF7 opened the doors for mass market appeal for RPG's not Dragon Warrior.

In English-speaking countries, yes, fair enough. In Japan though, it pretty much exploded onto the scene, creating a whole new genre, and the mass market appeal you mentioned spawned series like FF. Without DW's success, there probably wouldn't have been an FF7, at least probably not in the form as we know it.
