@Random_Matt: It should have been framelocked at 30 (or at least had an option for it) so that it's smooth and stable. Fluctuating between 40-50 is very jarring and annoying. If it's not gonna hit a stable 50-60 consistently, then just don't bother unlocking the framerate past 30.
I like how the sound effects of going through initial setup incrementally raises and builds anticipation! Only Nintendo goes the extra mile to implement neat little things like that.
