Kinnect was a marketing ploy to extend the life of a fading console. Unfortunately the core gamers didn't bite and they were forced to target children and their parents.

I'm hoping that next gen architecture will be based on modern PC's. That will make the transition of 3rd party games better for all systems. We will all be running Directx 11.

I have both consoles and a gaming PC as well. They're alright as far as gaming but the ps3 is pretty weak. I can't believe how many times that thing freezes when doing the most mundane tasks.

Consoles are always getting updates unless you're talking about upgrading. Last time I checked there is no way to upgrade the current consoles.....
