The thing is it seems there is less creativity because of the limitations. I agree games need to break the mold of stereotypical genres, but also need to be more technologically inovative to drive the market.
Heavy Rain is a heavily scripted game with canned animations and limited level design. Developing for a limited game like that shows that Cage's opinions are based on his own projects and not the other genres and gameplay styles.
A more powerful system is not just about graphics. How about never having to see a loading screen, having better physics, realistic A.I., unlimited animations, more voice acting, or levels that have no bounds?
Yea, but they had to tailor it to the 360 specs. I have the PC version and It looks way better than its console port. You also have to remember both versions only run on Direct X 9.
What a joke! I could've understood this a few years ago but the reality is that the ps3 and current gen consoles have hit their limits. Five more years of Direct X 9? No thank you and I have a ps3.
@bignick217 You don't know what your talking about. The PS3 does not posses an 8 core processor, it has a cell broadband processor. It has the same power as the 360's processor rated at 3.2 Ghz. In consideration of the next generation of consoles, I don't see either Microsoft or Sony carrying over any hardware or components from this generation, everything will revamped. When trying to build a powerful stable platform, its all about balancing the machine with components that compliment each other. I would bet next generation systems to be between two to four times more powerful than current generation consoles.
