@jerjef: Even my old NES from the mid-1980s still works sometimes if my son messes with it for a while. The only Nintendo console I've found to be weak is the Wii U. I bought one for my wife and kids and they managed to break the disc drive in about a year. It still plays digital games at least.

@lordstrategery: I'm not interested in a fanboy war, because I'm disappointed in both consoles this generation. I probably should have worded it that I've been just as disappointed in their consoles since the 360. The BC is decent and I do love that they are taking PC gaming more seriously again.

For me, charging a monthly fee to play online and lack of many good exclusives I care about were simply it. For me, there was nothing I wanted enough to justify a console purchase and monthly fee. Same with both consoles this generation. I'll be playing more MS games on PC probably now that they're available, so it's not that I hate them, my level of interest just wasn't at the level to buy hardware I'd only really need for a few games.

@7tizz: Why wouldn't it be believable for someone to like PS3 and despise Sony today? I can think of as many reasons why I liked Sony in 2010 as reasons I dislike them in 2016.

The only puzzling part to me is why he would like Xbox, since I think that they've been as bad as Sony currently is ever since the release of the 360. But to each his own.

@sakaixx: I think maybe kids who started gaming in the last couple of generations see video clips of characters running around on a map and assume they were more open. They don't know that those are just areas where you had a few towns to run between while being forced to grind for a while.

@_Silent_Jay_: Can you imagine if people bought previous gen titles? I bet Sony and Microsoft would figure out some scheme to resell them all as "remastered" versions with barely any difference to the originals, and barely make any new games anymore.

Would it lessen the whining if they named one of the new sections "Blizzard BattleNet"? Maybe it could be a site for classic Blizzard titles and gear it toward us old geezers who still prefer them.

40 minutes? I don't know what I would gain from watching the first half of the opening cutscene.

@smokerob79: If you're really worried about not owning your game, just copy the whole thing to a flash drive or a stack of DVD's, after install and updates and patches have all been downloaded. Most games are not too terribly hard to find all the files for, and most also run fine without being logged in to Steam.

@piratex: Having your guy get possessed by the devil, try to crush all the good guys in a giant shadow demon form, and get cursed by an inescapable spell that spawns the horned kids like Ico... None of that is "stuff happening at the end"?

@rboy1989: How is it like Mega Man AND Metroid? Those games are structured very differently. Just curious.
