9.5 at most from GS, probably 8.5 or a 9 knowing GS's methods of reviewing games. I'm sure it'll be a solid FPS, but to be honest, this game isn't a reason to get all that excited.

[QUOTE="Olidsc"]I'm not even going to touch the issue of console vs PC fps review standards, but I will say that amongst PC gamers, there is a much, much higher standard of what they consider to be a "good" fps vs what console FPS players would consider good. If Bungie had never been bought out by Microsoft and forced to develop Halo for Xbox, and instead released it for the PC as they originally planned, Bungie would be considered a decent studio at best, perhaps maybe around the level of, or lower than that of say..Monolith. The game would've sold a million copies at most then be forgotten as "that FPS game that didn't totally suck but got old fast."skrat_01

Well actually halo for mac and PC was nothing like Halo CE.
Hell I was exited about Halo CE on PC, and after it was then shifted to Xbox, the game changed completely.
Honestly I think for worse, as it was just a revolutionary project originally, but it was still a very good game.

Some of my dissapointment in Halo stems from the fact that back when it was still in development for PC, it indeed seemed as if it was going to be an epic game. Then Microsoft devoured Bungie and its development took a massive turn towards the "casual" market. Granted, I am incredibly biased towards faster paced multiplayer oriented shooters, and if Halo's current gameplay was what Bungie always had in mind, then I probably have no reason to feel as if the game's potential was inhibited.

Even then i'm being generous, as No One Lives Forever (1 and 2) were far far more fun than Halo ever was to me.

edit: Probably should've specified Bungie as an FPS developer. Don't get me wrong, Marathon was great too for its time, but Halo CE was pretty underwhelming to me the first time I played it given all the praise it had received.

You use a computer for things other than gaming, right? There's your answer.

It's a dumbed down dillution of the FPS genre that was overmarketed by Microsoft. They realized back in the Xbox 1 days that they had absolutely nothing but a single mediocre game to warrant the purchase of their system. Fanboys bought into the hype and clenched their teeth on the microsoft teet that was Halo, and never let go even when it started producing sour milk (Halo 2 anyone?). Not to mention it really helps that it was pretty much a medium sized fish in a very very small pond since it was a console shooter. Really it's like the WoW of FPS games, it was the first time certain people experienced a decently made game of a specific genre (in this case FPS, like WoW was many people's first MMO) and exploded from there. Now of course, I'm not saying Halo is a bad game...but it really loses its appeal very quickly once you realize the lack of depth in the gameplay due to either design decisions made by Bungie or the drawbacks of having to play using a controller.

Only if they do it while surrounded by a ring of fire, further surrounded with a pit of venomous snakes.

Yes, you are absolutely right. I don't even know why some people bother arguing this point. Really the only thing somewhat close to a quality "fighting game" that I consider to be from PC land would be the jedi knight series with saber duels...now those were cool.

My guess is because CS just wouldn't work very well with a 360. Every game would pretty much devolve into a massive campfest (though it already is a campfest at times) since the weapon damage is so high that firefights would be won based on who spots who first.

And really, TF2 is fantastic.

I still get chills everytime I hear the Temple of Time theme from OoT. Entering the Temple of Time (again) in Twilight Princess was by far one of my favorite moments in that game simply because of that familiar music.

This thread is just retarded flamebait, but as a correction, blizzard's games are never really very well optimized at all for the amount of visuals you get. They just aim at such low system requirements that most anyone's computer can run it through hardware brute force.
