And clearly the majority of gamers say wii>>>>>>>>ps3. This is fact, as can be evidenced by indisputable numerical sales.IgorAntunov
Sales do not mean quality. Nintendo has better MARKETING than Sony. I know some people who buy a Wii and hardly play it.

[QUOTE="PandaBear86"][QUOTE="Hexagon_777"]That would be really cool actually. Increasing the presence of gaming on operating systems that tend to run better than Windows would make for an interesting spectacle to behold.Hexagon_777

I'm sure developers will be happy spending millions of dollars to cater to all 37 people who want to play Crysis on their Ubuntu netbooks.

Because it will cost millions of dollars and there are only 37 people using Ubuntu, amirite?

If you want to play PC games, you would already have Windows installed on at least one PC in your household. If somebody buys a Linux netbook, gaming would be the LAST thing they plan to do with it. So yes, there are 37 Ubuntu users who want to play Crysis 2 on their netbooks. All the other Ubuntu users are smart enough to know that their netbooks are not designed for games.

Sony and MS are both getting motion contols. In my opinion, the PS3 is better than the Wii in ALL areas, including motion controls, so the Wii cannot use motion controls as a trump card anymore. Lets compare the PS3 and Wii side-by-side in various aspects:

-Hardware: The PS3 has HD graphics, Blu-ray, 250gb hard drive, and has multimedia features to take advantage of it. As for the Wii, it is essentially an upgraded Gamecube with 512mb Flash. Is Nintendo actually serious about selling a console with 512mb flash even though its 2010 and we have mobile phones with 32gb memory?

-Online: The PS3 has better online by a long shot, and no annoying friends codes to worry about. You can download all kinds of stuff from PSN, and the DRM is not harsh like Nintendo's DRM on DSiWare games.

-Motion controls: Sony has shown that their motion controls are great for hardcore AND casual games. This is because the PS Move is more accurate and responsive. Hardcore gamers require responsive controls so they know they are relying on their skills, rather than because they were lucky that the controls managed to work okay. Wiimote is good too (especially with MotionPlus), but its still not as good as the PS Move. Oh, and the use of a camera is great with the Move.

-Games: Okay, I understand this is more of an opinion-related topic, but lets get serious: it would be difficult to argue that the Wii has better games than PS3. Take a look at a Wii games shelf and try telling me its better than the PS3 shelf. Oh sure, theres a handful of good Mario/Zelda/Metroid game, but apart from that, its really dfficult to say the Wii has good games. As for the PS3, you have loads of good games, both exclusives AND multiplats. You won't be seeing BioShock, Fallout, Darksiders, Tekken 6 and loads more on the Wii.

Since the PS3 is now officially better than the Wii in all areas, I guess the only reason why the Wii is still winning is because of Nintendo's marketing, plus the lower price. But the PS3 is no longer expensive anymore, and the Gamecube along with the Dreamcast have proved than lower price does not always guarantee victory in console wars. So what else is making the Wii sell so much? Is it because of Nintendo's brandname? Or is it because people like paying for obsolete technology as long as 0.1% of the games are good?

You can see a few strands of hair better on the PS3 version. We all know that FF13 on 360 is useless because of that :roll:

[QUOTE="Heirren"]

[QUOTE="Dick_Derringer"]

Muliplats are ALWAYS best on PC.

The only games that are "better on 360" or "better on PS3" are the ones that aren't on PC.

Have fun fighting for second place, fanboys!

Not really. I sure as heck don't have my pc hooked up to a 50in Plasma with a 5.1 custom built sound system, I don't sit on a comfortable couch when I'm on the pc, and if I succumb to using a controller for pc games, in addition to hooking it up to the theater--well, I might as well call it a gaming console.

Why do people always bring up the size of a TV in comparison to a monitor? You do realise that your eyes are further away from your TV, while my 22" PC monitor is right in front of my eyes? 50" screens are useless if you are far too away from them. My brother in law has a 46" HDTV and the sofas a re really far, I get more field of vision from my 4.3" PSP screen than his TV

Ubuntu would then gain 0.0001% of the PC games market. I'm sure all those console-loving developers would be thrilled to spend hundreds of thousands of dollars to port (including their previous games) their games onto Linux :roll:

This is what they promised

This is what they delivered
ps3back.jpg (600×800)

Let's not forget about how PS3 exclusives were supposed to run in 4D, 120fps and native 1080p resolution.

EndorphinMaster
What exactly do plan on doing with a console that has 3 ethernet ports and 2 HDMI ports? Do you want a floppy disk drive and an in-built coffee machine while you are at it? :S

Just when you thought you couldn't dislike Activision more than you already do, there are news that Activision has filed*multiple* Diablo sequels. So Blizzard (or maybe another company as well, knowing what Activision did to Call of Duty) are currently developing more than one sequel. So its not just Diablo 3 in development. Maybe another sequel or spin-off that we don't know about. Possibly a Diablo game on iPhone...

Thoughts? Do you want to play Diablo 4: Modern Sorcery sometime next year?
