@bababooey12: Obviously it's just me personally, but it's always been the same. There's never been an Xbox game that has warranted me purchasing an Xbox. And any game I might be interested in for the system also ends up coming out on PC, so if I want it, I just get it for my laptop.
Is there anyone actually excited for this? They've hyped this up as a launch title, but next to games like Spider-Man: Miles Morales, Outriders, the new Assassin's Creed, and Death Loop, this just looks generic and boring.
Kind of disappointing, but there are some good looking games. Spelunky 2 is a must play for me, as I love the first game and have been waiting for a sequel. Genshin Impact looks good. Hood seems interesting, that could be fun. I've been wanting a co-op stealth game, so hopefully that is what it is. Pathless looks like an interesting and enjoyable game.
However, I honestly don't know why Godfall is being hyped up. It looks boring and generic. PS5 has some good looking launch titles and Godfall looks like one of the least interesting.
@mogan: Yes, but you're comparing this to games that are over 20 years old. In general, games that old were on average shorter. Whether an arcade shooter or not, it irks me in general that major developers short us on the amount of content when they don't need to.
I WAS interested in this, but I guess I'll pass. "...the game doesn't have the same breadth of content as other more expensive games..." seems to translate to it being another Battlefront 2 release, with a severe lack of content barely worth picking up. No thanks. Even at $40, I doubt there will be enough content to keep playing for more than a couple of weeks.
@uninspiredcup: I know, I was in the army. That's why I said what I said. I was older and more mature when I went in and a lot of the younger guys didn't really comprehend what they were actually going to be doing. A 15 or 16 year old is rarely going to be mature enough to comprehend what they will be doing in the military, much less what it will be like deploying. And using COD is a poor recruiting tool. The military has long refrained from being open when they recruit, and using video games only furthers the false, romanticized notions of service.
Stuff like this report is necessary because the industry needs an overhaul. I can't count the stories I've heard of sexism for m friends working in the industry. And they continue to do it because no one holds them accountable. It's happened with the movie industry, it's going to happen with gaming. People will make light of the issue, but any woman who wants to work in the industry has to put up with this BS.
It is a pretty terrible tactic in the first place for recruiting. The military isn't a video game and war isn't what these games portray them to be. Using COD to romanticize the military to a 15 year old is a terrible way to recruit someone.
