I'll be the black sheep and say that I actually have more fun with Genshin than I did with BOTW. I spent maybe 5 hours in BOTW before I was bored. The world felt barren and devoid of character. The story wasn't very interesting. The gameplay wasn't exciting enough for me to want to stick around. But then I've always gotten bored with the Zelda franchise, so it wasn't surprising when the same happened with BOTW.
Genshin I like because the world feels populated and I like the characters. I enjoy the intricacies of the story and lore. The combat feels varied and just strategic enough to keep me interested. None of this is a knock against fans of BOTW, I just think that Genshin has the elements I feel BOTW was missing to personally keep me interested. It's certainly one of the best F2P and mobile-oriented games I've ever played.
Not surprised. Amazon is experimenting right now with game creation and Crucible was their first big entry. New World might do better, as it's a marginally interesting game that fits into the survival genre well. It may have some sustainable life in it, based on the alpha. However, I have a feeling that Amazon is going to continue to experiment until they find something that strikes gold. I do appreciate they're trying to create their own games and not just buy up other developers and mess with their stuff. I'd rather see them fold their own creations than someone elses.
I am not surprised the game banned the use of the names, I am surprised to see that they are that serious about Coco. I honestly didn't think it was THAT big a deal, but jfc, they're going that far? If China wanted to continue their "national unity", you'd think they'd try to keep things quiet instead of making these issues world news headlines.
@kabloe: I usually played with a mix between console and PC, but I've never gotten an XBox because anything I've ever wanted to play on Xbox also comes out on PC. So, this doesn't really change anything.
Looks like I'll be getting my Bethesda games on PC from now on, I suppose. This is good for Xbox, though. I imagine Elder Scrolls 6 exclusivity to the system will sell a number of systems. Thankfully, just about anything I'd want on Xbox also comes out on PC, so I don't need to debate getting an Xbox.
"...during the interview, Kentaro Miura revealed that the story of Berserk is ‘approaching it’s back half’ and that ‘many surprises are in store.’"
The interview is from last year, but he's only had a few chapters since then anyway. His words suggest he's only halfway through, but I am sure his feelings could also change as well as the direction of the story. There may also be a greater clarification of what he means by back half.
I don't think 'new beginning' necessarily has to mean a gaiden or prequel. It could be directly related to the core manga. They have been wrapping up the fairy island quest, so it could have to do with a new direction for the manga.
Considering where the last chapter ended, I can't imagine what's in store. In an interview I read from 2019, Miura suggested the story isn't even at it's halfway point, so maybe that's what this is about? The last few chapters finished the big arc that's been happening for over ten years, so I imagine that Miura will be moving onto the next big arc, but who knows. Personally, very excited for what happens next.
@returnofsoma42: It's just a dumb, goofy game to mess around in. The minigames are fun and fun to watch. I don't think it's meant to be taken seriously.
Cheating at Fall Guys seems like a dumb way to play this particular game. It's designed to be amusing while playing it. The whole point of the game is to play it for the entertainment and humor of it. If you're that into it that you need to cheat to win, why play at all? There have to be other games out there better served by cheating. Not that anyone should be cheating anyway.
