@bluestorm83: The government has many responsibilities, and one of those is supporting it's citizens during a crisis. It's hardly the time to one of those pick yourself up by the bootstrap types. Our lack of unity and community is part of the reason we're in the position we're in.

@Rufus_the_rat: You talk like those things are terrible. Those are exactly what we need right now. The funny thing is, ppl like AOC always seem to have their finger on the pulse of the future, while opponents seem to be stuck in the past and get left behind.

@idakooz: Yes, it's just the pains of Duke Nukem Forever all those years ago. Every time I see Gearbox associated with a "bad" game, I just remember them taking over and releasing that dumpster fire.

Every console launch has a game like this. It's flashy, looks great, feels "next gen", but is an empty, vapid, and derivative gameplay experience. I think the problem was too much emphasis placed on the fact this was going to be next gen, so that was the focus, instead of crafting a game that actually felt worth playing. Everything about this from the get go looked generic as hell and boring. It's unfortunate that Gearbox invested in this.

@crono71: You assume the legality issue is immigration related.

@v1ndictive: Had COVID not been a factor, I'm sure we would have. That kind of put a halt to pretty much everything.

Can't get over the idea this will be that launch game that gets raved over for a few months before it's forgotten, with better games taking it's place. All the previews of this have shown off a fairly generic looking action game with little new, if anything, to offer. This article kind of confirms it. As much as this article might want to make this game sounds like something fresh and exciting, the game just isn't. There are better games on the horizon as well, so unless people are really desperate to play something on the new systems and the games that are out aren't doing it for them, I don't see the appeal of this over other new games besides filling a hole of looter-action games (of which there doesn't really seem to be a shortage of anyway).

This review kind of illustrates the issues I have with the series. It really feels like this franchise has lost all it's steam. While I am more interested in this series iteration than I have been in most (pretty much only because it's about Vikings now), what here feels like a step forward. The separate storylines of each arc feels half baked, as does the core plot. Where the original trilogy at least had some immediacy to it, a plot and characters that really felt like a driving force for the franchise, this feels like pretty much what it is: just another Assassin's Creed. I genuinely wish that Ubi would make each chapter feel genuinely special, like they used to, instead of this franchise making each chapter feel like 'just another Assassin's Creed'.

@illegal_peanut: Not doing anything "new" isn't necessarily bad. If something's not broke, then why fix it? I'm not saying that applies here. AC hasn't been refreshing or all that interesting in years. I just don't think it's necessarily a bad thing if a game gives you more of the same.

If this is more of the same of the first game, I don't see a reason I will be disappointed. The first was one of PS4's very best releases. I am disappointed this is such a small game, but if it's enjoyable, then it's worth playing.
