@rinshun: Whether people actually liked it or not, TLOU II is a phenomenal game. People don't have to like it for it to be objectively good.

I'd love to play this myself, but unfortunately, I can't play VR games. They just make me feel sick. Still hoping that they give this a non-VR release so the majority of people can play this.

@izraal: I could care less to adherence to plot. That isn't what makes Miikes films better or worse. He's just a better filmmaker. Like A Dragon is still a better film just for it's character development. But this also forgets Ace Attorney, which is better than anything Andersen has ever done. Resident Evil is an enjoyable B movie, but good is not a word I would use for it, in the same way I wouldn't call Mortal Kombat a good movie.

Sounds more generous than I've heard. And you've been more generous to Andersen than he deserves. He's had a couple good movies, but most of his career has been taking video game properties and making terrible adaptations. Takashi Mike has had a better career adapting games and any of the ones worthy of praise made in Hollywood were made by other people, like Detective Pikachu and Sonic The Hedgehog, and those are both better than anything Andersen has made.

@Tzitzimime999: It is fair to criticize and inaccurate portrayal of cultures and histories. We have, for so long, excused inaccuracies as 'creative liberty' that it has become a norm to simply not criticize inaccuracies, but if CDPR gets it wrong, then they get it wrong. They SHOULD rightfully be called out on it. That isn't to say that it's a detriment to the game. No one is going to go through this and say that this writing is game breaking. Heck, the game still gets a 7 here. But to say that it doesn't deserve criticism is a disservice. If you, as an artist, choose to utilize cultures, or any identity really, that isn't your own or something completely fictitious, then you owe it for the sake of your own art to be as accurate as possible unless you give a good reason for not doing so. In the case of this game, it COULD be excused if there was an explanation for the inaccuracies, such as parts of the culture changing in the future. But there's no suggestion here that this is the case.

@Tzitzimime999: Or read reviews from people who you align more with? Seriously, her being an "SJW" doesn't mean anything. No one is FORCING you to even read the review, much less agree with it, and if her guidelines for reviewing a game include depictions of social norms, then don't read the review, plain and simple. Go to IGN, Polygon, or GamesRadar.

@Norse_Mage121: Or play both? I've been playing Yakuza, have about 60 hours clocked in, and almost have the game completed. Should have it finished by the time CP comes out.

I'm not sure what the obsession with everything in this game having meaning is, but I don't see any of that as a bad thing. Is it really a bad thing if you're enjoying the game? Nothing in the review says that these quests or details don't add to the world building, and as long as they do that, this will be enjoyable. A lot of this has been compared to the most recent Deus Ex games, and from the sounds of it, this is accurate. One of the great joys of playing Deus Ex, or any of these cyberpunnk-esque open world games, is that it's just fun to play. Not everything in the DX:HR or DX:MD felt necessary towards the overall world of the game, but it was still fun to play through all the quests and explore because: A. the gameplay is fun and B. the world building is good and it's interesting to explore and learn about the world we're playing in.

The early game blocks and hurdles, such as decks that are too expensive or lack of skill points are a natural part of the progression, so that seems like it's to be expected. With how this review reads, I'm guessing this will sit with me as an 8 or slightly higher. Going into this, my enjoyment of it won't just be from fulfilling the hole left by a lack of cyberpunk and Deus Ex-type games, but because I am going to guess I'll enjoy this more than the reviewer. Not that a 7 is bad, I just see myself enjoying this much more than the reviewer seems to have.

@Rufus_the_rat: Sure, but neither her nor those two things listed are parts of communism. Communism is a buzz word used to turn off ppl through extremism. America is so afraid of communism/socialism, they've gone completely the other way, and when someone like AOC comes along and suggests something like alternative solutions for police handling things they shouldn't, suddenly they're communists. It shuts down even the remote possiblity of discussing any issue facing American citizens and closes off ears and mouths.
